You should get to be friends with your local public library. They sometimes get the books a few days in advance to allow for cataloging time. If you become a good friends they sometimes let you see a copy and, even better, let you read it! I also pre-ordered on my Kindle so it should be delivered at the stroke of midnight :)

I believethat he next rider will female which only leaves angela, arya, elva or nasuada. Since those are the most established females in the series, except for maybe katrina, and they have been in all the books. Knowing CP he can spin it anyway he wants to so I am leaving an open mind to it until Wednesday. Good reading to all and may the stars watch over you

My guess is that it the next rider will be Arya. The color of her attack magic has already been described in book 1 as "emerald" so it would seem logical that she will be the next rider. And together Arya and Eragon will rebuild the race of dragons and dragon riders.

- Arya is the most obvious choice but that's why i don't want her to be the one.

- Roran...i think he'll die...Not by what's said in the extract... But for some reason i have connected him with a tragic fate. Well... Even if he doesn't i think he's just fine as the leader of his people and nothing else.

- Orik... Oh... I would love it to be Orik but it seems kind of impossible.

- So i hope it's either Angela or Nasuada (Nasuada vs Murtagh, oh god let it happen!)

I think the new Dragon Rider is going to be the girl that Eragon saw Angela doing a reading for with her mother. If she isn't the new Rider, then she is definitely going to have something happen for her.

If that were to happen then the book would have to span a good (idk) 2 or 3 [maybe more] year for the talent of the person and the dragon to mature.

Unless some serious magic happens, it won't be Orik. It was already stated that dwarves weren't included in the spell that the elves and dragons created to allow dragon riders to exist. Plus, he has other responsibilities. Like being the king of the dwarves. lol. Personally, I'm hoping for Angela. lol

A curveball would more likely come if Galbatorix tried to smash the egg somehow and discovered that someone already stole it and replaced it with a fake one. THAT would be a curveball.
