  • Last three mins of this are utterly mesmerising & probably the best thing I've heard in 20 odd years

  • I go to this one all this time. meaningful, deep and keeping this close to my heart

  • @gayle61766

raising each other so high so we can catch each other's dreams,

to color ones images with our hearts,

Sigur Ros, touching each of us one by one...

    over and over again.

    Thankful

  • I picture a rotting world, an America covered in ashes and dust, with vagabonds roaming the earth, and right at 6:07, all of the people that society discredited and disregarded are lifted up from the ground and take flight above the desolate land. At least, that's what I imagine. I can't think of any other band that can, without words, conjure up that powerful of an image.

    Long live Sigur Ros.

  • Looking for another band with the same kinda great sound? Look up Glass America

  • Sigur Ros is the sound of heaven, the universe and a pure heart.

If you like the song, you will also like this one...

Search for: The Inituition - Open Your Frozen Heart And Start Living Again

  • @PassionOfDenmark Phenomenal. Thanks for the recommendation. Definitely something that anyone who likes "Untitled 8" will enjoy.

  • the guy in the pic with yorke and jonsi is a merce cunningham

  • Every song they have gives me goosebumps. So epic

  • its prolly only been on a radiostation in america 4 times

  • Simply the most imaginative, most epic, and most transcendental song I have ever heard.

If the world ever ends I hope that this song is playing on every stereo on earth.

  • @OCIRELCNU no youtube now allows upload to 15 minutes now . look at this video its 2007 so that time YT only allow for 10 minutes

  • @BruneiTV i think you said the same thing i said, which is...... when the video was made it was 10 minutes

  • This is the first and the only song that makes me cry with no reason, this is the song i want to be played at my funeral.

even you cut off the best part of the song (the last minutes)

  • Didn't they use this in the dead space 1 trailer?

  • You cut it off short

  • Hey dipshit. Nice job cutting the song off before the huge climax. Fucking retarded. Why would you cut off the most important part of the song. Genius. Stupid shit.

  • Well fellow humans, things are the way they are... Don't try to think that you can change things. It takes people to be responsible, mature, and respectful to make a peaceful world. Also the ability to compromise and reflect on others opinions and thoughts. Quit dreaming about a fantasy world and think reality, that is all we have.

  • @duginske FAIL

  • hasiktirr a.q en güzel yerinde bitirmişiniz olm

  • The most beautiful piece of music ever written, Sigur Ros are so talented, they evoke such strong emotions with their music. Adore this track so much, watch it on Heima dvd, it will blow you away. Turn the volume up loud.

  • I can't put my fingur on wether I love this song or not... I am absolutely in awe at the beauty of it, and at the true artists who made this piece. But for some reason, this song brings my mood down and I become melancholic.

  • this song is.. i don't know. there are no words to describe such.. beauty. such awesomeness. its cool how this song goes from being slow and mellow at the begining then goes into full on rock mode towards the end! ah-mazing!!!

Sigur Ros, I love you! that is all!

  • How do you pronounce Sigur ros? Is it like, Seegure ross? :P

  • @aliceahead yah i think so. whenever my local college radio plays them they always pronounce it that way. don't quote me on that though lol. if you ever find out the right way let me know haha thanks!

  • Saw them play this live at the Lowry a few years ago. Never before have I found live music to be so emotionally engaging, devastating and overwhelming. I cried my eyes out, I can't describe how I felt. Such a beautiful show from such a beautiful band. Every time I listen to this song now, I get chills :)

  • Jonsi with his voice can join you sweetly in a wonderful dream... those emotions that you can only touch upon to understand what are you feeling...

  • Fck me that's powerful. What an idiot I've been to have not picked up this album yet.

  • The pride of our fucking century. Or even of the whole history of music,

  • yeah, it's strange what mere sounds and a melody does to the mind :)

  • the music is defintely affective

and strong enough to lead u to sit in dark and meditate about ur life and

  • Simply my favourite song of all time. Dark, intense, beautiful and life affirming. PERFECT.

  • These guys tend to sound like a perfect harmony of Radiohead and Coldplay instrumentals. I love it but some of you guys are a little too attached to this stuff...lol

  • @suhaybhafiz 20x better though! They probably stole from them, i don't know. Doesn't matter. =).

  • One of the only songs that's ever let me fall asleep listening to it

  • pure genius...

    mogę tego słuchać na okrągło...

    pozdrawiam !

  • Wtf that's not how it ends.

  • Wow. This song completely dominates.

  • It's just gibberish he's saying that goes along with the music. I read that the band held a contest to see who thought what the lyrics were and meant.

  • This song is my favorite. Truly an amazing piece of work.

  • perfect for getting to sleep :)

  • if my life were a movie with an epic battle scene toward the end this song would be playing.

  • Is it me, or does anyone else notice they say "you-sigh" alot in hoplandic?

  • @Zunesrthebest i agree

  • @Zunesrthebest not just you. "you-sigh ah-loh..." or something espeically

  • Apparently it's just these words in different orders: "You xylo. You xylo no fi lo. You so." So I guess a lot is just repeated.

And yes, I did take that from Wikipedia haha

  • i dont know what it means! ive been dying to know

or do you think jonsi just made it up?

  • Jonsi made it up. It's only icelandic gibberish

  • Truely is the most beautiful song ever made.. this song does touch the soul and gives me chills

n who as the guy behind them..

  • The guy behind them is Merce Cunningham and American dancer and choreographer

  • This song has nothing on #4 untitled

  • @tommyshere oooooh, you are tearin me apart!

  • I remember the first time when I heard this. It was winter and I just got the album, and I came in and played it. I was supposed to just listen how the album begins, but then I noticed that album ended, and that I had sit in the dark and listen it all. And this song was the one that had strongest effect. And now still everytime I hear this, shiver goes throught my body, and feel like this touches my soul or something. Strangely powerful. Maybe its northen melancholy, what I understand too well.

  • @Tsogobauggi I don't know what the fuck this is but I'm on acid so its whatever

  • @Tsogobauggi AGREED most beautiful, powerful music I've heard. I love this band so much...

  • @Tsogobauggi man i had the same reaction as you. i was just going to listen to one song but after a while you realize the album is one big song. this song is just so epic though, i had the same reactions. shivers down the spine. so moving and emotional. WE LOVE YOU SIGUR ROS

  • Humans can create some truly outstradning things. It's a shame so many of us go to wars and join the police for 'money'. Monewy is the anti-creative force in this world, I'm convinced of it. This song reminds me why humans are still here, in a way. To create and make each other happy. If ony everyone was that way.

  • @joneselius - Its called socialism. People who live in social-democracies are the happy, intellectual and artistic. They focus on the whole or society rather than on themselves. Capitalism can turn people into greedy self-loathing creatures.

  • @mycatisromeo Democracies never work, utilitarian outlooks are great until the mojority turns against the monority - as they do - the minorities lose their voice, just when they need it most. It always happens.

  • @mycatisromeo

Sir, I have bad news for you, the so called "social-democracies", are, in fact, ver capitalistic. Unless you go for the extremes, we "happy intellectual and artistic" people get slaughtered-

  • @joneselius

I just came here to enjoy some Sigur Ros and I get to read some bullshit from an insanely irrational individual who feels that by some work of a miracle we can live in the utopia he dreams of.

Sir, I'm sorry but, "I'm convinced" feels more like "I'm am a self-rightous, arrogant, irresponsible bigot who gets dumbed down by ideology".

  • @KohrsFM Some work of a mirale? Sir, do you see education as a miracle?

And the reason "I'm convinced of it" is because it's true. Unless, of course, your truly outstanding mind can come up with a better medium for people to invest all their energy into obtaining? Material wealth is all well and good, until you consume it at our rate - instead of being openly hostile, try to be constructive. That, or remain yet another vitriolic online persona. What's it to be?

  • @KohrsFM If your gonig to attack someone for expressing an opinion at least have an opinion of your own that would combat his point, rather then blatantly accusing him of being a "bigot"

  • @joneselius i agree, and now im 18 still a student but im coming to trems with money and i hate it! im going to become a slave to it :( it makes me sad but i still have music like this that brings me hope

  • @joneselius have you heard of the zeitgeist movement by any chance?

  • @Supermarioshead Yes. It's a little 'new age' for me though.

  • @joneselius I had many reservation's about it before as well, especially from the social engineering part of it, but after reading more into it, listening to peter joseph's radio show, and I;ve always been interseted in psychology, pihlosophy and sociology, it's right up my alley.. from your observations of money i assumed you had heard about it! guess I was right ha ha

  • @Supermarioshead My analysis of money comes from my inability to allow others to create my views for me. I didn't allow myself to be told what money was or does, as such, I went on an internet journey. I read about debt, creation, usage and historical purpose of money. I came to the rather shocking conclusion that, if anything is as powerful as to stave the creational abilities of humans, and replace it with a set notion of predictablility, then that object is to be rejected completely -

  • @joneselius Not only rejected but completely destroyed. We did not destory money and we continue to debase our creative talent in order to obtain it. Some exploit their talent and convince others that their talent is worth their energy (money) too. These people are the one's I fear. The people who think money is absolute - a defining part of their importance to the cycle of life. These people fail to assertain that money is nothing but a stupifier. It's a drug and we're all addicted.

  • @joneselius You know these people well, they're the one's who define themselves with flash cars and material things. They completely ignore the suffering and humiliation that children and adults alike must suffer for their material wealth. They suffer too though. They are completely isolated amongst their posessions. I think, truly, the answer to this worlds problems is one thing. Empathy. That's it, just empathy. Do unto others as you would do unto yourself. Peace friend.

  • @joneselius "The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed".Carl G. Jung

    Peace to you also

  • @joneselius Everyone is that way inside, they just are lost.

Let's help them discover true human nature again!

I agree the world would be much better without money.

  • @xxxscrubsxx to blame money for all of our problems is naive.

if more people looked within, shed their ego, stopped to actually sit and take in existence, that would hopefully begin to help. but in reality thats still a toss up. they could lose hope and think life isnt worth living. or they could be liberated and create beauty with one another.

its all a conscious choice, each day. every moment.

  • When I first met my husband, this song was on my Ipod and he was from Iceland..:)

  • who else is in the picture with thom yorke?

  • It was my life... Thank you for this music...

  • This album is definitely a masterpiece

I love this kind of music and always look for newcomer bands..SOme days ago I found a band here on youtube called "Nyctalgia". All of you should give a listen to their song "Falling into nothingness".

Incredible song that deserves more attention.. trust me..it's great..

  • This makes me thing of Wardruna but then not in a Norwegian Mythological way.

  • the first time I listened to this song I thought it was going to end up like the other tracks but starting at 6:12 everything just started going downhill. such an emotional rollercoaster. the final 4 min. was the best listening experience I had ever had in my life. I give to you the most epic way to cap off an album...

  • When they performed this in Berkeley last year, it started raining right when they went in the last part. Shit you not - the closest I've ever come to a religious experience.

  • If art is emotion. Listen!

  • The internation bankers have destroyed the prosperity of the Icelandic people and enslaved them in unrepayable debt.

They have been raped by the bankers and masons

God bless the Icelandic people and thanky ou Sigur Ros

And Sigur Ros music makes me cry such is its beauty.

  • From 7:40 to 9:27 it sounds like a standoff, waiting for something to happen.

That's my favorite part of the song.

  • i know. mine too.

it as if some bad ass just walked into the room and the band is like oh shit. it all goes slow motion and they start a fire fight.

    haha.

    there you go. =)

  • sigur ros (L)

    all of them!!

  • my favorite song

  • Great montage. Suits this song perfectly. Did you find the pics on the net or have you been there yourself?

    5 stars from me.

  • fucking AMAZING song.

  • ............................

  • Man, the emotion in this song just takes you away.

  • i love how the first half of this song makes you feel at ease and then all of a sudden it feels like you're being sucked into a nightmare.

  • The mp3 is available from their site, if you want it in full and at better quality.

  • which is their website... i had this album in my comp. but i lost it.

  • Thank you so much for telling us this.

  • 6:10 ... when the drums get in...wow

  • This song and Women Who Love Men Who Love Drugs by Oceansize, are two of the best songs in the world easily.

  • I love it ! It's about me:)

  • Ending is cut off.

I hate that. The end is the best part.

  • Chills

  • This song is musical talent at its best.

I can not say enough good things about this song.

It makes me feel happy, sad, nervous, anxious, blissful, and content.

It fills my stomach up with butterflies.

It puts a knot in my throat. It makes my eyes water.

  • Why? 'Cause they play the same thing over and over? Talent in popular forms of music is a myth. The music either sounds good or it doesn't . . . this sounds good that's why you like it, don't make it something it isn't with arbitrary terms like "talent" . . .

  • I have to disagree with you.

While I agree with the concept of personal taste, I also believe that there is good music, and shitty music.

  • dal min 6... la canzone è una meraviglia <3

  • this is easily the best song ever made.

  • this song IS being in love...

  • I'll never forget when I heard them play this live..

  • song reminds me of a relationship that is growing until it finally collapses...

  • this song sends shivers down my spine, and brings emotions flowing out of my stomach into my chest. amazing, it really touches me.

  • Comment removed

  • This music so emotional... it conjurs up feelings from childhood, sensations of awe and bliss. Thank God for Sigur Ros, their noncommercialism, and their willingness to make music that is beautiful and transcendent. I can't say enough about this band...

  • I love this song...

  • no words, all feelings thatks sigur ros absoluty perfect

  • Man do I love this song, along with Untitled 3, 4, and 7. These are the best songs recorded by Sigur Ros and are some of the best in modern music, in my opinion.

  • this song should be the definition of music..

  • Popplagið it is...
