  • Do it right the first time and buy or rent a sliding compound miter saw... It won't leave you with horrible edges.

  • @spaz02538 Yes, you'd almost certainly need a saw of some kind for cases like that. The only floor I've ever installed was oak, which was tongue&grooved in both directions so you couldn't cut any adjoining pieces without "breaking the rules" so to speak. But the cuts around radiator pipes and door jams were exposed. Still, I'd consider anything that reduced the amount of sawing, with all the noise, dust and danger, an improvement. I was born with 10 fingers and would prefer to die that way ;-))

  • @spaz02538 The cut looks a bit rough for an exposed edge, but most laminate floors are floated and covered at the ends with molding, so this thing could still save time and hassle on those cuts. I wish they could make something like this for hardwood.
