No, There are 2 companies trained for special operation. 1 is the special intervention unit (but probably changed name again..?) and 1 is the special operations company. But of them are part of the Royal Marines but the Royal Marines core itself is NOT a special forces corps.

The USMC and Dutch Marines differ in organisation. The USMC is 1 of the 4 main elements of the US military. If I'd have to believe the commercials, the USMC can do the parade and the Dutch will do the fighting. But hell I don't know much about the real thing so I don't know who is better and I don't care.
What makes any of them better? most western units generally get the same amount of training, some might even get extra training for terrain but nobody seems to remember that with Nato we are the same army.

The standard training is 33 weeks and is comparable with the training of the Royal Marines, compare this with the 13 weeks the USMC gives and I think it is clear we are talking about a different league here. The Dutch marines are more comparable with MARSOC than with the regular USMCs.

usmc is a large strikeforce but just regular infantry nobody in usmc is elite but the force recon..
dutch marines are all trained like commandos far longer intensive and versitale trained. a dutch marine is expected to operate in any envirmont and circumstances and is trained to do so.
(desert arctic jungle training) the only unit of the usmc that comes close to the dutch is force recon.
I'm a former dutch Marine Paratrooper and I've trained with the USMC. No badmouthing anyone, I love the US Marines, very motivated for sure. But the fact they USMC basic training is only 3 or 4 months while mine was close to 9 EXcluding jumptraining (Dutch, Belgian and US jumpwing) says something. Now in part that has to do with the fact that our country's don't see marines the same way. In the US, marines are Amphibious Infantry and are trained that way. Dutch marines...

The standard training is 33 weeks and is comparable with the training of the Royal Marines, compare this with the 13 weeks the USMC gives and I think it is clear we are talking about a different league here. The Dutch marines are more comparable with MARSOC than with the regular USMCs.

They royal marines are of te best in the world, as do the nether land marine corps. They do not get the recognition they deserve as the netherlands isn't really a popular topic these days, and neither is their military due to the fact they aren't a mighty powerful country.

dutch marines are all trained like commandos far longer intensive and versitale trained. a dutch marine is expected to operate in any envirmont and circumstances and is trained to do so.
(desert arctic jungle training) the only unit of the usmc that comes close to the dutch is force recon.

I'm a former dutch Marine Paratrooper and I've trained with the USMC. No badmouthing anyone, I love the US Marines, very motivated for sure. But the fact they USMC basic training is only 3 or 4 months while mine was close to 9 EXcluding jumptraining (Dutch, Belgian and US jumpwing) says something. Now in part that has to do with the fact that our country's don't see marines the same way. In the US, marines are Amphibious Infantry and are trained that way. Dutch marines...

Apparently, the commercial is successful to a certain extend. Because people like you fall for the trap, and do actually believe that these sort of commercials are there only to illustrate what you can expect. It's not, it's pure propaganda.

This certainly is propaganda without a doubt.Whereas the American commercials rely on the vocal stimulus in their commercials combined with the images this commercial's power is all in the details.
The heroic and energetic music, the image of total control of terrain, the image of working as a tight group, the amazing scenery and many more details all make those who are ignorant and sensitive enough believe that this is actually the best a man can get.
However, hardly anything of this is reality
