  • ENGLISH VERSION IS MUCH BETTER

  • Ich mag dieses Lied

  • Ja She Leak Deak!

  • They should have sung, "zee leept Dish." Would have been easier, and sounds closer.

"Sie liebt dick!" is what German listeners hear, and it means "She loves thick(ly)."

  • My friends German I say it sounds funny and she says so now your making fun of me. It does everytime I sing it she and I laugh lol

  • German class will be even more interesting now. :]

  • "She'll eat dick yeah, yeah, yeah!"

  • well its aknown fact that Germany was one of the most sexually liberated places in the world till the Nasis took over. BBty the way things look it seems that sexualllity has reurned to Germany!

  • @DremordDrale Yeah I know, I speak german :p It just sounds like that when The Beatles try to pronounce it xD

  • WTF they spoke German!? epic!

  • @DremordDrale No, they didn't write these lyrics in German. But yes, of course the Beatles all spoke some German. They spent 2 years in Hamburg in the early 60s, a time when few Germans knew English.

  • She loves dick! :)

  • @TheWeirdPsycho Dich (Dish) - You

  • I ever want to learn German, it will be through The Beatles.

  • @NaturalnaDredziara

Why do you hate me? :<

  • @VicRattlehead6655

    Are you from Germany ?

  • @NaturalnaDredziara

    Well, yes.

  • @VicRattlehead6655

So I apologise, I didn't want to offend nobody, my opinion concerns Germany as the nation, because every nation has some its good or bad features, mainly I meant the fact that I didn't like German, his sounding is evoking negative emotions at me. And so when the opportunity arises whether 'dich' should not excuse itself softly at the end?;)

  • I hate german but I ♥ The Beatles and this changes many ! :)

  • @NaturalnaDredziara Germany is nice!

  • @FalcosJeanny

German sounds unpleasantly, and inhabitants of Germany aren't also friendly... I apologise for all linguistic mistakes, but I am not good too well at English ;)

  • they're saying "Dich", which is the familiar form of the English word "you" or in German "Sie" which is the formal version. There is another word which sounds similar, spelled dick, which refers to being fat or thick.

  • Aww, it's so cute that they made the effort to record their songs in German <3

  • is it me or are they saying dich wrong theyre saying it like dick...which my teacher told me is fat or thick

  • @JohnnDeere10 in northern German dialect, Dich sound like dick. also ich sounds like ick, mich sounds like mick, and so on.

  • She does!

  • it could be "it's lipstick yeah yeah yeah!" LOL! :D

  • @Mioiscool401 dumb

  • @Mioiscool401 hahahhahahahaha!!!!!!!!

  • @Mioiscool401 I love you <3

  • lol auf Deutsch!!!! cool :)

  • just curious, why did they redo some of their songs in german?

  • @ZBraun95

because german fans are the best fans :)

  • @ZBraun95 the beatles played often in hamburg and it was kind of their 2nd home in the beginning era

  • @ZBraun95 They only did two songs in German, this one and I want to hold your hand, to break the German market. However, the English versions of both these songs are now more popular in Germany!

  • @FabFM The Beatles sung have three songs in German. Geht Raus ist "get back", then the two you've mentioned. Pardon english.

  • @bernhauable Was that actually a released version as a single of get back, or just an unreleased recording?

  • @FabFM I can't be sure, I don't know how you call it in english. Look up 'geht raus - the beatles'

  • Geht raus.. just look it up, you can not deny they didn't sing it.

  • @bernhauable I wasn't denying anything, don't get defensive... I was asking for further information, so chill.

  • @bernhauable sorry, but they only recorded TWO songs in German. after Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand and Sie Leibt Dich, they agreed not to record an entire song in any other language beside English.

  • The hairstyles they took up wearing n droped the Teddie duck tails for was from the German 'Exi' scene. A group of German beat-likes were called the Existentials. They wore their hair in ancient Roman style.

  • Was für eine Sprache ist das denn? Hä??? Jedenfalls kein Deutsch. Ich habe kein Wort verstanden. Nothing.. What?

  • @Halzuun I can understand it and Im dutch. Stupid F***g german. You're exaggerating

  • @Halzuun

    du bist dumm

  • lol sounds cool but weird

  • It sounds so funny :D

    Die Aussprache ist genial xDD

  • Own , their german is so cute . ♥

  • @clariinhaj Isn't it just! Odd how they get the 'ch' wrong in 'dich' when that sound is in the scouse accent anyway lol

  • @elton1981 yes i am living in germany the beatles are singing more dik or dig

but it just sounds great. i think it is better with their accent

  • @elton1981 Well dude, your german is...sorry mate... fucking bad. Maybe you should practise a bit.

  • THis shows how The Beatles conquered the world. Even if you can't understand the lyrics it has all the power the english version does. YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!

  • theyre speak better german than guido westerwelle speaks english

  • @MegaBorner They hat some of their first fans in Hamburg ...^^ Does Westerwave has fans in ... Liverpool?^^

  • @sacrumromanum

i dont think so^^. the beatles has more fans than guido westerwelle.

    i dont like westerwelle

  • @civillaser ...what?

  • @2000Maedchen

  • @civillaser WHAT?! Please for the love of god, just write in english, I'm German and I didn't get any of that. What's this got to do with Sushi??

  • @2000Maedchen

  • @civillaser Ah, now I get you. Yes I love Sushi, but it's expensive.

  • listen closely, both parts are sung by paul except chorus.

  • I'm 53 years old and I remember my mother who is German, singing to this AND I want to hold your hand...Lol, she'd shake her head and body to the beat, I thought it was funny. Ahhhh, what wonderful memories!

  • @yucchhiiowwee

my mom is german too, and whenever we drive her car i put on a beatles CD and she humms and shakes her head. Awesome :p but later i found out that she thought beatles were too "soft", she¨d rather listen too "blue cheer" for example.

  • @dildoronk lol. It always seemed funny when a person who is much older likes the stuff that you would never anticapate. especially a mom or dad or even a grandmother or grandfather etc. Though my mom is about 85 yrs old she likes when I sing Taking care of business by Bachman, turner overdrive. I sing either at karoake or sometimes with a band. Since my mom lives back in Germany, I send her a recording of when I get up with a band in a honky tonk. I'm in Nashville, Tenn.

  • Ich liebe die Beatles!

  • This song sounds good in german but it sounds way better in english.

  • @TheBeatlesLove1967

The Beatles sound proably good in every language

  • @2010framat You are right. The Only reason why I said it sounds best in English is because the only language I can speak is English. So that's the only way I can understand the lyrics.

  • @TheBeatlesLove1967

I know the Beatles did not write the german lyrics although PMcCartney is able to understand and even speak german to a certain degree.

He said in an interview the german lyrics were not too good but he did not care at that point of his career.

  • @TheBeatlesLove1967 thats because you dont speak german. someone who speaks german appreciates german music a lot more

  • @der363 I agree if I spoke German I would probably want to hear all of The Beatles songs in German.

  • @TheBeatlesLove1967

I'm german but i really wouldn't want to hear all the beatles stuff in german... i think it's kind of funny to hear those two songs in german but it's far better in english...

  • @trodat4253 Well one way or another The Beatles are The best Band ever.

  • @TheBeatlesLove1967 how right you are

  • @TheBeatlesLove1967 Nope, The Beatles have to sing in English. They sound funny in German but their songs are only awesome in English I would say. Greetings from Germany...

  • ah des hoert sich so suess an ;)

  • Immerwieder ein Ohrenschmaus! :-)

  • they sang it in german in the studios though. they're record company thought it would broaden their audience.

  • thanks for the information :D

  • lol, look at their lips, they don't sing german... it's synchronisized!

  • @JimmiPlant....you're correct, that is a video in English and dubbed in German

  • did they really sing it in german?

  • Ja, klar! The only word that seems to be in English is "yeah", instead of "ja". Sie liebt dich, ja, ja, ja!

  • So thats a yes? haha XD

  • i think no...no...no....no....no......no

  • @demyxgurl Yes that is the Beatles singing in German, just not the video here. This was the late 50s early 60s. Not much footage available I think....not sure, but they did do many tours in the "Reeperbahn" in the Hamburg redlight district.

BEATLES FOREVER!!!

  • man, those text boxes are really distracting

  • I love the beatles!

  • Omg, :D the Beatles...singing in German. <3 Life's swell.

  • sie liebt dikk :D

  • I wish more music was in German, it's such a cool language.

But wow, a Beatles song in German, i'm in heaven now hahaha.

  • Meinst du das wirklich ehrlich, mein englischer Freund ?

  • haha thank you :D

ich finde deutsch aber nicht sehr schön.

  • @ThrashFuckingMetal6 They also redid 'I Want to Hold Your Hand' - 'Gib mir deine Hand'.
