This is what i did, 1. Turn it on(still black screen of death) 2. Keep it on and put it on the doc charger 3. Turn it off (hold the power button) and turn it on while its still on the doc.

This is how i got mine back on... Idk if it would work with anyone or you though thats why i extended my warrenty with club nintendo :3

Hold down the power button until the power is off then turn it on again it'll be fine. If it doesn't shut down, remove the battery and put it back in for manual shutdown.

This happen to me before when I was playing Pilotwings Resort and I closed the 3DS a little fast by mistake and opened with a Black Screen (The 3DS one is from the Price Cut Version).

However, when this happens. Returning it for a Repair will be useless because it'll go back to normal later on, takes some time & the Power Button wouldn't turn off for me.

Yet, not a "Black Screen of Death" unless it actually breaks unlike this Video. No Death yet.

i got a cosmo black 3ds, never had a prob outta it. not even ONCE. my bf got an aqua blue one 2 days later, (yes, we set it up, then we charged it), and when i went to the menu to start the update... IT FROZE! and it wouldnt work for 7 hours! it wouldnt even shut off! so we had to let it die. turned it on next day, it was fine. we got the flame red one a month later... SAME THING HAPPENED! but WORSE! it never came back on again! we returned it... but my black one is still fine... so idk...

This happens to DSi as well. I was on Flipnote Studio, making a flipnote when it froze. I let die of charge so it'd turn off then I'd charge it again. Good as new.
