ELP truly one of the most epic bands of a generation. I had the good fortune of seeing their first California concert at the Hollywood bowl. I was 15 years old and seats were $5.00 a ticket for great seats. My first concert, the concert bill was Edgar Winter, Humble Pie and ELP. It doesn't get better than that
@MitjaShi He's not smashing anything...he's playing part of the synthesizer called a ribbon controller. Keith usually does this on Tarkus as part of his act :)
This is so damn good. The 1970-72 Eddy Offord years were pure mind bliss. It all came together in 1972 for ELP with Trilogy. The most polished beautiful ELP album ever. After that, Something changed. I will go out on a limb and say Brain salad surgery was like Rushes moving pictures. The end of an era. Thank you my friend for this piece of pure talent.
@plocequ1 Thanks for the great comment...I think their best work was the early to mid 70's. I was sooo disappointed when 'Love Beach' came out. After 'Works' it was pretty much over.....
@bze2nlz1 I liked the Works albums (especially the first one), but Love Beach was abysmal for the most part. Memoirs is a great song, along with Canario, but that's it.
damn, i can't figure out how lake is playing the fast bassline of eruption, where exactly is he playing the notes

How is Palmer's right hand able to play that fast? And for a long time?

Gosh, Keith is just knocking the shit out of those keys and not missing a note. The absolute best musician in the business, then and now.
