I've actually heard the story of how they got their name. A couple of them were childhood friends, and for some reason they got their hands on a Victoria Secret catalog or something and were looking at pictures of "Bare Naked Ladies" as they called them. They grew up, formed a band, and thought that would be as good a name as any. There you go, even if it is second-hand knowledge and thus suspect.

Canada's Barenaked Ladies....so how did it come about that they decided to be called ladies. I can't get an answer and nobody'd thinks too much about addressing them as that...&barenaked yet. Anyhow they did great job of this carol, & that's saying alot since it's one of my least favorite. Oh!, my favorite by far is The Little Drummer Boy, and there are so many versions of this classic.
