Pallars-Anders is a name, it's just that they have switched the first and the last names (The name is Anders Pallars).

This is a lament from a prison cell at Gävle Castle. The song got sung sometime in the 1800s by a miserable murderer and father from Karsjö, Järvsö.

What I have heard: His name wasn't Pallars, BUT the place that he lived in is what they used to call Pallars back then in the 1800s. He lived in a small village called Karsjö. And the real properties in the village was called Karsjö 1, Karsjö 2, Karsjö 3 etc. The man who wrote this song (Anders) lived in Karsjö 4, and that one was called Pallars. Karsjö 4 (or Pallars) was a big farm with a lot of cottages in the same real property. And since he lived there he got the nickname Pallars-Anders.

"Pallar" is a slang from gothenburg that means "manage". So what the song really means is (since it's probably a question) "Does Anders manage to show?" or if it isn't a question it would be something like "Anders manage show" wich is grammaticly incorrect, so i think it's a question!
