  • WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE SONG & ARTIST PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND? IT'S NOT WAR INSIDE MY HEAD.

  • heres an idea man

you seem like a zeppelin fan...

you can do one in standard tuning

and another in DADGAD (tuning for Kashmir, White Summer, Etc.)

    Nice Job ROCK ON!!

  • my heart droped when you cut those guitars in half

but the way you made the double, I feel so much better

  • Absolutely -- two different tunings. Look up Acoustic Eidelon and watch Joe play both necks at the same time! It's awesome.

  • Awesome. Several great alternate tunings for one of the necks is open G for STones songs and the Frank Gambale tuning for an interesting approach to a different keys using traditional chord shapes.

  • can u do 1 with a acoustic guitar

  • @acdchiway2hell It would be very difficult to do an acoustic double neck. The brace pattern on the top would be so wierd and precise so it could handle the pull of the strings (cedar and spruce are very weak woods). It has been done but it would take a while to draw up a brace pattern that wouldn't kill the tone.

  • Nice video mate, very usefull!

  • Any chance I could get a wiring diagram for how you set this up? Thanks

  • the only bad part about that is y would u need two 6 strings?

  • Different tunings ;]

  • @zoopcoolapcar for you mum

  • awesome build only thing i didnt like are the two completely different headstoks but thats just me

    good work though =D

  • Haha very good video.. i could say that the hardest part is the electronics cause i dont know anything... very good work

  • Anyone here know how to route the pickups and how you know where to do it? Im building a triple soon. Thanks.

  • Dude, great job! Man, ive gotta say that looks like it could be Gibson quality! That is just truly amazing, i love how ur guitar looks! Id like to try this sometime onmy own, many if a ew years wen i have the money to afford 2 guitars.

  • Hey man, I wanna do that as well; I got 2 strat body's laying around.

But you got 2x a 6 string ? what are the good sides of this? cause normally they are 1x 6 string 1 x 12 string.

Another question, how did you do the wiring. you can switch between both guitars?

  • i have to re-upload this video because the audio got cut out due to some copyright stuff. But if the audio was there, i say in the vid that i bought an electric 12 string set of strings, and i put the lower octave on the bottom, and the upper octave on the top neck. i made a vid explaining how its wired but i should just draw up a diagram and post it on my profile. Unfortunately i wont be able to do that untill atleast november around thanksgiving, im at college.

  • aha, I see, thankyou man.

That would be great! (don't hurry if you're at college)

  • @GuitarMats u can buy a 12 string neck off ebay for 55 gbp with 10 gbp to ship to mainland u.k. its from ireland

  • what goes after I sand the wood? tell me what to do between the sanding and the polishing and HOW MANY COATS of each thing, after the sanding goes the prymer, then the paint and then...... and then the polishing to give a glass finish, isn't it? someone help me!

  • what do thay use for guitar paint?

  • well, you can use pretty much anything, id just stay away from polyeurethane because it ruins the sound and doesnt let the wood breathe

  • guitar paint

  • there is the sound ?

  • Dude, awesome!

  • maybe if ido

  • im buying a couple squiers and doing that

  • Make a vid too!

  • REALLY impressive, man! Great paint is hard to do and the final product looks terrific. I do wish there was sound tho. I hope it plays as good as it looks!

  • damn sounds great

  • fuck im making a strat into a randy rhoads v

and that paint is a mother fucka to sand off!

    its like plastic!

  • send me the dimensions of the build i cant get mine in the right angles and stuff

  • i have a double neck

  • Great job!

I would like to hear you playing.

  • how come i cant here u wen your playing it

  • Very inovative to be so youn.

  • Did you glue the two guitars together?

    Nice.

One can be standard, one drop C!!!

  • How about some sound?

I want do do a similar thing, but with a 4 and a 6. Does your creation balance ok when hanging from a strap?

  • wow, its cool but sucks at same time... whats the point of 2 six strings

  • the upper neck is an octave higher than the lower neck

  • still, aint much of a big deal

  • yeah but thew whole point is it is cheaper but i wouldnt use old bodies like them cos they go for hundreds on ebay. i would use new bodies which are very cheap

  • @randomjunkguy Honestly I would rather have two six string necks or a seven and a six. I don't think an electric should have a 12 string neck but that's just my opinion. When I build double necks for my customers I charge extra is they want a 12 all mine come standard with 2 6 strings or 1 6 and 1 seven. Mine is 2 6 strings so I can tune to C sharp and drop C.

  • Why isn't there sound when you play it?

  • but what is the use of a double neck without a 12 string 6 string??

    its cool but?

  • looks like one is made of ply wood i am making a double neck too but i am cutting out the wood and all i was going to do the same thing but i want to build it all

  • haha , oh crap!

  • thats awesome but other than lookin cool the point of a double neck is to have a 12 string and a 6 string.and the headstocks should be the same color in my opinion but sweet job anyway i wish i could do that kind of stuff

  • Great Carpenter :p

  • It's OK, the Epi Paul is nice, I have one. I dont wanna drop a G or 2 on a Gibson when I can get the Epi for a couple of hundred.

  • i got a gibson les paul in a shop for £550 pre-owned and another for £350 new on ebay. theyre both usa and genuine.

  • i would of put some humbuckers but cool job

  • the REAL frankenstrat, awesome job, very inventive

  • That's just awsome! Great job!

  • How did you wire that? :|

  • Wow..i've always wanted to know about that making guitars and stuff..Thats really impressive man.

  • The double neck sounds pretty good, what guitars did you make it out of?

  • i used a squire strat, and a silvertone strat look-alike. as you can tell, its not high quality, since the body was made out of ply wood lol

  • Great Video!

  • Interesting configuration! I've seen guitars where the lower octave is on top and the higher is on bottom...it's a very clean guitar!

  • Freakin Awsome

  • i remember this from ultimate-guitar. always good to find another UGer!

  • hey could you e-mail me how to do it and how to wire the 2 way switch that changes which nech is being used thanx

  • Can U Send Me A Email On How To Make It

  • i have videos up explaining it now

  • how does the switch to go between each guitar work?

  • Dude! Could you make a video on each step? I wanna Make one of thoes.

  • dude, ill send you an e-mail on how to do it, give me your e-mail, and ill e-mail you as to how to do it, with tips so you dont mess up or anything.

but give me your e-mail adress and ill do it

  • hey could you send me a youtube message on how to build one

  • pretty cool. you could go paul gilbert on its ass now and have 3 strings on the lower neck all tuned to E.

  • jonathan morris

    im his friend

  • yo thats cool

    im jonathans friend

  • wow baby

    u is amazing fo realzies

    heheh

  • dude thats cool i personal would not dare to do that risk two guitars like that thats cool how did you get the original finish off was it dye or some kind of plastic coating .sanding? and how did you get the new finish. looks like jimi's strat

  • i got white primer, and basically used the whole can on it, the i got laquer paint, with a white tint, and sprayed that. thats all i did

  • also they were two older guitars, one was a silvertone, made out of ply wood, and the other was a squire, i bought from my friend for like 20 bux

  • i guess you will have to make a case next lol

  • man i dont think i have ever seen a strat style double neck before pretty awesome

  • dude that's crayz!!! how long did it take you to finish this??

  • i started december 23rd and finished jan. 3rd

  • looks good
