A dead body has no further use, they would have either been cremated or buried, so if in this situation their bodies could save the lives of others then I see no evil or inhumanity in what they did. If they hadn't have done this then they ALL would have died and never been found and where would the sense have been in that? I'm pretty sure the dead would have wanted their friends and loved ones to survive...

For all you guys talking about signal fires. Make a signal fire off of what? Mostly everything there doesn't burn. Maybe their luggage and chairs? Sure, that'll burn but for how long? Maybe an hour or two? Plus, that'll give off a white smoke. White smoke on white snow won't make it obvious. You need proper materials such as fresh vegetation combined with dried grass and or rubber/tires for black smoke..
They were smoking cigarettes but they still never managed to light a signal fire from parts of the wreckage! Planes flying overhead would have spotted the smoke within the first few days and made a rescue. Stupid people became cannibals...ha ha ha

BUT, in saying that, i would not eat human flesh till at least the 30th day. we can live a long time with out eating. Eating for the energy to find the tail, or find rescue,,, its a hard moral question that i couldnt answer unless i was in that situation.
Notice how it seems like such a big deal until he actually takes a bite. That was it. It's not that big a deal to eat human flesh! You just do and it's over.
I have to honestly admit, tho, in the book whenever they talked about cooking it and how it tasted like beef just a bit looser, it did made me feel kind of hungry lol. Seriously it did.
I'm suprised they didn't try to cook it.

For all you guys talking about signal fires. Make a signal fire off of what? Mostly everything there doesn't burn. Maybe their luggage and chairs? Sure, that'll burn but for how long? Maybe an hour or two? Plus, that'll give off a white smoke. White smoke on white snow won't make it obvious. You need proper materials such as fresh vegetation combined with dried grass and or rubber/tires for black smoke..

They were smoking cigarettes but they still never managed to light a signal fire from parts of the wreckage! Planes flying overhead would have spotted the smoke within the first few days and made a rescue. Stupid people became cannibals...ha ha ha

im a fat ass. i would be freaking out completely after day 9 and we are out of food.
BUT, in saying that, i would not eat human flesh till at least the 30th day. we can live a long time with out eating. Eating for the energy to find the tail, or find rescue,,, its a hard moral question that i couldnt answer unless i was in that situation.

Notice how it seems like such a big deal until he actually takes a bite. That was it. It's not that big a deal to eat human flesh! You just do and it's over.
I have to honestly admit, tho, in the book whenever they talked about cooking it and how it tasted like beef just a bit looser, it did made me feel kind of hungry lol. Seriously it did.
