The flag code is NOT law. They are a set of standard guidelines. Also, the founders of the USA opposed oaths and forced declarations of loyalty or patriotism. There are many religions also that forbid honoring anything other than God.
If I were to copy a friends homework; then that's considered plagiarism. My friend may have said it was okay but my professor wouldn't think so. On the other hand Thomas Jefferson "plagiarized" in order to write the Declaration of Independence. It's all about perspective; I do not believe that his speech was historically important enough to say that it was a shared thought for the betterment of mankind.
Obama did not technically "plagiarize but this proves the man does not have an original thought. He's a total idiot and has no business running for an important office as President. He's not a real black man and if I were black, I would feel robbed for 2 reasons. 1) He is not black, he still has just as much white blood in him. 2) He's a total dweeb and I wouldn't want an idiot like that to go down in history as the first black president.

I guess the award-winning school system I attended failed me, because I was not taught to place my right hand over my heart during the National Athem (only during the Pledge). Guess what? Most American were not taught to do it either. Is it a post-911 change to assume such position during both the National Anthem and Pledge?
