They went on like that for 2 hours. After the show you were sweaty, hoarse from shouting and your hands hurt from clapping. You really got your money's worth from this band.
I saw them open for Jeff Beck at the Hollywood Paladium in '72. First appearance in the US ever! They ROCKED back then! Still play Wanna Make Love to You and Trouble Trouble
No its Not. Honey Hush was written by an Old Blues Player named Big Bill Broonzy back in the 50's. Foghat and Aerosmith both cut Energized and Get Your Wings in 1974. However, Energized was released in January of 74 and Get Your Wings was released in April of 74. Did Aerosmith Steal the Riff From Foghat...No Way!
Guys- the versiion sthat both bands are copying are from Johnny Burnette and the Rock and Roll trio in 1956. They were one of the first Rockabilly bands, they came out of Memphis with Elvis. They did both Honey Hush and Train kept a rollin and they were way ahead of their time. Their versions are pure wild rockabilly, which influenced Foghat, Yardbirds, and Aerosmith. Check them out on youtube
NO....Foghats Honey Hush is a remake of an old Blues tune by Big Joe Turner, not Broonzy as I stated above, of the same name. Burnette later did his version. Rpd Price once said it was the Big Joe Turner version that sparked Foghats interest in remaking the song.
I know its an old Big Joe Turner song, but Foghats version here is the Johnny Burnette Trio's version, Guitarist Grady Martin came up with that distorted guitar riff that drives the song. Same as Train kept a rollin ( later covered by yardbirds and Aerosmith). Youtube has Johnny Burnette doin Train kept a Rollin if and Im sure itunes has Honey Hush.
Foghat = Rock. Period.

I love this song, and it has a similar riff to Aerosmith's Train Kept a Rollin' which is cool! I like to jam to it a lot.

Who cares.....HH and Train are both great songs......HH is "train on steroids"
JBTG33 2 years ago
So if I understand this right, Burnette played Honey Hush using the Train Kept a Rollin melody, and Fog Hat covered the Burnette version.
The original HH melody is quite different.
