  • Hi. I'm a hindu, and I understand a little bit of gujarati, but I want to be able to have a connection instead merely calling myself a Hindu. I can't speak gujarati fluently, but parents can. To become a true Hindu, how does one pray and is listening to these songs and singing them mean you are praying? plz someone help me. I'm lost. I've read up HInduism and know the beliefs (eternal life of the soul, reincarnation). etc. can someone guide me where to start?

  • @littlebirdswing

singing..aarti...prayers and idol worship...do not form real prayer..thr s no set form of prayer..Lord Krishna has said..that if u want to worship me....think about me and call my name...with a pure heart...all you need to do is remember God..as many times as you can during a day..but there is an idol..because...there is a sanskrit sloka..which states...God u are omnipresent..but i am a human and have limitations..so i perceive this idol to be ur image..Read GITA it wil guide u

  • @littlebirdswing

Dear friend, I'm not sure where you live in US but if there is a SWADHYAY KENDRA ( Swadhyay is an activity inspired by Pujya Pandurang Shastri Aathvale, i.e. Dadaji) near your place, go there regularly and you will get your question answered.

  • i love so much this voice

  • @MrPawanjoshi

My his soul rest in peace.

  • very nice ! who is the female singer ?

  • thank you Ram ji for this treat .

  • What else is greater than our own Indian bhajans.......live .....love..........give thanks....

  • it takes me in my childhood ! very nice .

  • om hri om.....

  • Krishna is very merciful and he always wants his children to go back to him in his loving shelter. He never tortures anybody for the sins done to him, but never forgives the souls who try to give harm to his pure devotees and his other children. Such souls will definitely be punished and will suffer....in Hell or on this earth. Krishna's devotees are most dear to him and he always protects them.

  • I simply love the tune, the singing done by both Male and Female singers, good co ordination ,excellent voice modulation, and of course heart touching lyrics,

    RATING : 10/10 ^

  • very nice ! who is this female singer ?

  • Diff between Heaven & Moksha:

Heaven: A place of bodily pleasures - Sex, food, drink, lying in the sun on the beach. No qualifications needed. Hit the lottery & u can have it all here on earth.

Moksha: Education, Enlightenment, Knowledge - a flowering of the mind. To compose music like Mozart, to think like Einstein, write beautiful poetry, to sing like MS. It is not begged for nor given, it has to be EARNED! No amount of money can get u Moksha.

Choose the higher goal, choose Moksha.

  • It is big illusion that you are earning anything..MAYA...Actually any material achievement like fame, wealth, intelligence, beauty are all fruits of your good actions and Krishna's mercy. Moksha is to understand this very fact..get out of your ego and surrender to lotus feet of Shri Krishna. This is real enlightenment and knowledge..Says Bhagwad Gita

  • @sonalsant1 Same old stuff - live like a ant, just do ur job, don't desire anything, grovel at someone's feet & u get Moksha? People like Gandhiji, Mother Teresa never saw spent much time in Temples or thought of how they can get Moksha - instead they chose to think of others - whom do u think God likes more, u, whose only thought is how I can get Moksha or people like them?

Ur thoughts on Hell are very offensive - please give up this hated thoughts of harming others - not very Krishna like

  • Excellent. Chant the mantra : Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye

  • i sing this bout everytime i do puja! :)

  • The greatest divide in humanity comes from our belief that race, creed, social status or gender in some way matter.. The sooner people realise that these mean nothing to God the sooner they will realise that we are all of the same species, of the same earth, sky, water, universe.

  • this is simply awesome.

  • This is it. God s great and so is India.

  • @sbkatara Why India still immersed in poverty and filth in spite of so many Gods?

  • @guruadisankara ..brother, we are more than 5000 years old, every empire has vanished, roman, greek etc....but we have some thing , thats why weare still bloosming and india got independent just 60years ago and india is worlds second fastest economy. our hindu culture is every where, people when practice yoga, they actually parctice hindusim, Give us bit of time more and you can see the difference. jai hind

  • love this since childhood !

  • @banff123456

It is a lyrical composition that is set to music and sung.

There is nothing about this that isn't a song.

I'm pretty sure you're just being pretentious.

  • im not a hindu follwee but i like dis song very much. i understand lil bit. coooollllllll

  • This eternal Aarti brings peace, solace and realization of self to the listener.

  • what a marvellous singer, a sweet voice, wonderful; jai hind

  • HIGHLY DEVOTIONAL, NICE SONG

  • -----------------------

  • awesome!

  • Let's dump this vile, abusive, disgusting concept of Hell. God buys love & loyalty with the threat of torture? A Gandhi, Teresa, Mandela would never think of torturing their enemies, whereas a Saddam, Hitler, Stalin would. This is the company that God keeps?

Karma & Rebirth is the better way, the non-violent way. You are not punished, nor are you simply forgiven because you begged enough. You are reborn, given another chance to make amends.

  • @ramaraksha01 Yes Krishna is impartial usually, we are given plenty of chances to change and improve, but Krishna is also Bhakta vatsalya he protects the devotees who are surrendered to him. Hare Krishna!

  • @nandanugent I just don't see that - open the newspaper & see all kinds of bad things happening all over the world - u think they are all happening to irreligious people? It's upto us to make this world better, God can only give guidance & encourgament, but we have to fight the world's problems on our own. When Arjuna & Duryodhana approach God Krishna for his help in the war, he limited himself to just guidance & encouragement - that is his message to us.

  • @ramaraksha01Yes everyone is suffering in this world, birth, disease , old age and death. In the Srimad Bhagavatam there are numerous examples of Krishnas partiality as bhakta vatsalya, look at the life of Prahlad Maharaja, Krishna was absolutely partial in protecting him, because Prahlada was absolutely surrendered to him. Ambarish maharaja is another example of Krishna favour. Krishna also protected the Gopas and Gopis in Goverdana lila- Hey Krishna karuna sindu, dina bandu jagat pate.....

  • @nandanugent then what is the point of human struggle? Why should a person like Gandhiji struggle & give up his life if it is all up to God? A God who intervenes lessens us, makes us weaker, that doesn't make us irreligious. I would say God would be proud of a man who fights life's problems on his own instead of asking God for help, much like a Teacher who loves a student who attempts to solve a problem on his own instead of constantly running to the Teacher for help.

  • @nandanugent Basically your arguments are based not on verifiable facts but what is written in an ancient book. Thinks simply happen & men can think that something has happened becasue of some miracle.

Yes we are suffering from disease & death - but today we are living longer & longer. It is because of countless scientists spending day & night trying to cure disaeses & come up with new medicines. God is there to encourage & instrcut, but life's problems are ours to solve.

  • @ramaraksha01 Krishna is very merciful and he always wants his children to go back to him in his loving shelter. He never tortures anybody for the sins done to him, but never forgives the souls who try to give harm to his pure devotees and his other children. Such souls will definitely be punished and will suffer....in Hell or on this earth. Krishna's devotees are most dear to him and he always protects them.

    Hare Krishna

  • @ramaraksha01

I actually believe you're mistaken about Hell, as r many people of many religions. Personally, I believe God, or Allah (SWT), as i call Him, only punishes people 4 the crimes they've committed, and no more. I mean, does it make sense that a man who spent his life stealing would get the same punishment in the afterlife as 1 who spent his life killing? Of course not. i believe u spend just enough time in Hell to be punished/purified, and then u can begin bettering yourself in heaven

  • @DaddysTaz I am sorry but i think this concept of Hell is primitive & backward. In olden times "justice" basically meant violence. The strongest made the rules. How does it help u, the victim, that this thief is suffering? When did pain & violence compensate for ur loss?

In the olden days when kids misbehaved, they could expect a severe beating. Hopefully we have left those backward times behind. It is better we TEACH the kids right from wrong. That's the modern way.

  • @DaddysTaz Also the example given is always the killer, the thief. Could u be a criminal? What is your opinion on Abortion? on Homosexuality? If u are on the other side of what God thinks is right, does physical abuse against u make u see the light?

I am sorry but my God Rama does not Torture. Period.

Knowledge does not come from the end of a rod but from a book & as the jains would say from the Right Insight.

  • @ramaraksha01 torture is "the infliction of intense pain to coerce or afford sadistic pleasure". And u must realize that in the Afterlife, people don't have physical bodies. otherwise they would need food, and therefore need to excrete, which is unthinkable in heaven. so it's not "physical abuse" we're talking about, anyway. punishment is 4 people who understand right & wrong and do wrong anyway, or for people too blind to consider the Right Path. And my God doesn't punish you for your opinions

  • @DaddysTaz news, u won't be jumping with joy! Instead i bet u will be down on ur knees begging the doctor to save ur life! Making deals with God to stay here on earth! I guess all those nice castles u built for urself after death don't seem so real anymore.

And they are not. Heaven & hell are products of ur imagination. We all fear death - we have created this nice santa klaus who will take care of us after we die. Just beg & grovel & yippee it's hotel hawaii in heaven!

  • @DaddysTaz Only Hinduism has the answer to why we are Here. We are here because we are working our way towards a Goal - Moksha. We can't beg & grovel our way to Moksha - it is always Earned!

We are here because God is here. Yes my friend God is here with us. Where there is honest work being done, there is God. Where there is knowledge being imparted, there is God. Where there are helping hands allievating suffering, there is God. God is here, God is here.

We choose to stay with God

  • @ramaraksha01 obviously knowledge doesn't come from a rod lmfao. thats why God has throughout history given humans knowledge that was written down and turned into books, so people can always have it on hand for reference. mine's called the Qur'an and it's based on logic. yours is just a really long poem.

  • @DaddysTaz Logic? lol. Tell me why are we here? What is humanity's purpose? Live X yrs, beg & grovel & then spend eternity in heaven? Pray tell me, why even be born? Say a 3 month old muslim girl dies, she goes straight to heaven, right? But what if she had lived & made a horrible mistake? Now she may be going to hell! U are running the risk of going to hell by living! Some logic! So life to u is a mistake, an error. U are better off dead. But i bet u that if tomorrow ur doctor gives u bad

  • Why many new born die ? They have not even started their life & Allah calls them back ? Why ? How Allah is going to evaluate what they did was right or wrong.

  • @goldash100

I dn..knw if this wil satisfy u..but hinduism has an answer...its related 2 ur past birth...wen my mothr was pregnant...a hindu swami had tld her dat the baby wil die as soon as it is born...and dat is wat hapnd...he had stated that the soul of the baby ws a pure 1 on its way 2 heaven..but stil had 2 pay for certain deeds...of his past birth..

  • Epic!!!!!!!

  • gorapup

    thanks, you are so considerate!

is there any forum or smth where i can talk to Hindu people about their religion, history and leterature?

i had a guest recently, he is a visiting professor of biology in one of the universities of India, he is in love with your country, we talked about Hinduism and ancient scripts like vedas and upanishads. i'd like to learn more......

  • So HInduism is open to interpretations and it takes a lifetime to understand. Best is to visit Haridwar and Benaras to just live it. You wont need discussions, immersion and understanding comes thru experiencing the same.

  • His voice is so enchanting, it seems to me i can feel all his feelings he felt when he was singing

    best regards from tbilisi

  • i like this very much, i listen to it hundred times a day, today i saw some indian students in the street, but i dared not call them and ask if they know this song and what these words mean

  • @miro327522 This song or Aarti is basically a hindu prayer that is sung/chanted in temples .. this prayer is a way of praising God which basically says that God You are the only one to make things right , i look unto you as u r the only one , u are the head of everyone and you are the only one who can get me out of my miseries and make things right for me as i am nothing in front of you.

  • Hi Gorapup, It's a great job that you've done in translating the basics of this song. Songs from India are popular around the world . . Unfortunately , most of non Indians don't understand what's being said. Thanks for translating, whenever you feel like. Malleck, from France.

  • A prayer that epitomises humility and asks for strengh of mind, body and soul, unparallel in rendition simply divine...the effect ecstatic

  • This aarti is so close to my heart..on Diwali , my family and I sing this Aarti before eating anything and lighting the firecrackers.....
