This formula was used with AP, not KNO3 and Cl donor. But I suppose either might work, I know blue comps need a low flame temp so I would recommend one or the other.
And to the best of my knowledge NaCl cannot be used as a Cl donor. Because NaCl is an ionic salt, it'd be hard to get it to seperate into gaseous ions without high temp, the best Cl donors are organic compounds because they are more easily seperated. PVC, Saran, and others.
@surplusdriller I know this is a little late for a reply..But kno3 will not work..You will need potassium chlorate... potassium Perchlorate or ammonia perchlorate...Sorry about the late post..But I hope this help's someone.
I'm sorry but I don't remember the exact formula, I know that the chemicals used were ammonium perchlorate, black copper oxide, and powdered charcoal. If I find the formula, I'll be sure to let you know.
is it possible to substitute AP for KNO3 and a chlorine donor?
Bay the way can i use NaCl as chlorine donor??
