  • Not 100% true some of the orcas at SeaWorld have transient blood in them for example Malia and Tekoa.

  • I watch porn, therefore I belong to the pervert Japanese group.

  • i would love to eat the meat

  • aint that the whale that killed that women

  • Please can we all stop using the term "Killer Whales"...It's as stupid as, say, Killer Lions, Killer Cheetas, Kiler Dogs or Killer humans....some animals kill other animals and eat them

Please refer to them as Orcas...simples

  • They are more beautiful in the wild, where they belong.

  • oh wow that is popping I didn't know about Killer whales like that. Always wonder how they got them so friendly and to do all those tricks when I see videos of Killer whales taking down whales bigger than themselves and eating seals. Did discovery or BBC do one of those 45 minute documentary on this whale or whales in general?

  • Let them go. Find another way to pay the rent.

  • It is so sad to see such an amazing animal locked in a concrete pool for life! These beautiful angels of the ocean belong in the ocean. Their gentleness towards humans have cost them their freedom! :(

  • @Seppeline5 I don't know what you think this video is trying to say about killer whales that you find so disagreeable, but this is merely a preview for a full length show. Watch the entire show before you pass judgment. Also you seem to have missed the main argument of the video, which is summed up in you first comment, that "killer whales in captivity have a different culture than those in the wild." Yeah, that was the entire point of the clip, so you are actually agreeing with it.

  • if i worked at that water park, id be sneaking live seals into their tanks , so that way they can have a lil sense of what it like to still be wild.

such a pity for a beautiful creature to be held captive.

and animal rights activists are too busy worrying about exotic animals that are in good homes to realise that this animal is being used for money making purposes.

if you wanna see whales go whale watching out in the ocean, where the wild whales are, way better then goin to sea world imo.

  • But thos killer whales are still wild they still might want to hunt after what happand at sea world

  • i want to see the rest of this so bad

  • these creatures r amazing dont kill them and when stranded help them please

  • Thank goodness Killer Whales in the wild don't have an appetite for humans

  • Tilicum has culture haters now set it free or it will show you more culture

  • sea world is closed forever no killerwhale show any more

  • your talking about a highly intelligent and social animal that migrates thousands of miles a year! These people keep them in tanks that are the size of bathtubs for them and make them do "tricks" and swim in circles for the rest of there lives...i hate to see that.

  • @queensdiplomat02 Killer whales don't migrate

  • @queensdiplomat02 I agree. Orcas belong in the wild. If someone wants an encounter with an orca, go out in the wild and see it in its natural habiti\at

  • People rabbit on about being in captivity and should be released, but if they were not happy they would get sick and die.

They did release one killer whale some years back and it died in about a year.

  • There are actually not IMO. I mean they tried with Keiko years ago. He was rehabilitated and released, but chose to hang around people. Although he made contact with wild whales, he never joined a pod. Then eventually died. We have returned orphan whales successfully. We also now have whales bred in captivity, we were not very successful with a wild caught whale. So it begs the question on how much harder it would be to release a captive bred whale.

  • though I do not agree with ninashtia. I believe we need the captive whales. We hunted and killed these creatures as nuisances not to long ago. Only 50 have been taken captive and from them public opinion drastically changed. Our culture now loves them, we protect the wild whales and many are against their captivity. I feel the captive whales are still needed to inform new generations. Captivity has a negative impact on the individual whales, but it is beneficial for the species.

  • @mikaila31 Bullshit. Absolute twisted, selfish bullshit. How would you like me to take your kids and make them perform in a concrete prison for their LIFE? There is no justifying imprisonment and cruelty. This attitude of yours is for the WEAK.

  • @1giblesp So you agree with betterment of the individual over the betterment of the group as a whole? It is fact however that the use to be shot at for being nuisances. And they didn't even know what to FEED the first ever captive orca. It is PROVEN that a species that has public support will be protected. Thats why the Giant panda still exists and why the passenger pigeon is extinct. They have release an wild caught orca from captivity, but it was never a complete success.

  • It's horrible how man kind exploits animals, for example at sea world. Animals should be in their natural enviroment, anything else is just hideous.

  • What is shown here as fact is merely a theory thats not even based on logic. For one thing captive whales have a culture of their own as their behavior is not similar to any wild whales. Second, other predators as lions perform in circuses as well without them having a wild counterpart of non mammal hunters. Third, the description of the video in itself, saying some whales are happy to perform is highly unscientific as its suggestive, not stating facts. Not up to BBC standard in my opinion.

  • @Seppeline5 There is actually a division of killer whale societies in the wild. There are the generally pescivore "resident" (meaning they live in a specific area semi-permanently) whales, and the marine-mammal-eating "transient" (meaning they travel constantly) whales. They don't interbreed, and they seem to have very different dispositions toward interacting with humans when in the wild. So, while some of the statements made in this video are unscientific, that particular one was not.

  • I certainly have to agree that this is based off no form of logic, as true as this may be for captive-raised orcas, this says nothing about the Icelandic transient orcas Seaworld has been content to capture and throw in their tanks

  • Can i use that?

    i give you credit : )

  • In the beginning they say., they eat sea lions, dolphins and whales, but they have no interest in eat mammals. Well Sea lions, dolphins and whales ARE mammals. I think they mean people. They is only one WILD orca attack on a human and it was non threatening injuries, most likely mistaken identities

  • he said shamu's group weren't interested in eating mammals refering to the ones at seaworld because all their life they've eaten fish... well thats how i interpreted it anyway

  • Correct, sesame135.

Not even a question of interpretation, it really was litterally said so in the script.

  • @MsCarter8705 :D it's the British what do you expect?

  • So, Kamikuru77. Can you start first to listen well, before spitting on "the Brittish" ?

  • where can i find the whole program of this? beautiful :)

  • I love killer whales,, Wnna train them when im olderr badd , studyin biology for itt :D:D

  • If you really do love killer whales then you shouldn't want to train them at all, in fact, you should be against it. They don't want to be locked in a small area and be forced to do dumb tricks all day. Go see The Cove, it's about dolphins and it will give you all the information you need before you decide on becoming a trainer of these beautiful intelligent creatures.

  • that is so unrealistic. Like one person not choosing a career as a marine bologist is going to change humanity's affinity with aquatic zoos. Pretty thought, but highly unrealistic. I'd say pursue your dreams.

  • Yup, you're exactly right, why start anywhere? Why try to help out anywhere? I guess just you deciding to throw your trash in the bin instead of on the ground where ever you are isn't going to make a difference either, might as well go litter all you want. Don't worry, since your philosophy is completely flawless, it won't have any effect, right?

  • totally agree with you- just study them in the wild its far more interesting and exhilariting than trapping them in a tank and making them perform mindless tricks and ninaashtia you completely contridicted yourself by saying follow your dreams when you previously said dont bother none of it will make a difference

  • why don't you focus on the conversation we're having? It has nothing to do with littering. These are animals, not the method we dispose of our waste. Another thing, this is the way the world is. Those animals are not hurt. No matter what, they got no chance in the wild. So if someone wants to work there, you have to deal with that whether you want to face it or not. You can get as upset as you like, but it is the way it is and only you can come around. So come around to reality.

  • @Slipknot2009purity Please, take into consideration: study them in the wild! Don't support them in captivity. Former trainers have said that once they saw them in the wild, they lost all respect for them being in a concrete tank. Do you know anything about resident orca culture? If not, then you need to research it - it will change your views. I promise. I used to want to be a trainer more than ANYTHING. I have now become anti-captivity since researching the Northern Residents over the summer.

  • Doesn't mention anything about the 3rd type the offshore killer whales. Also, are all fish eating resident killer whales behavior reminiscent of captiva ones? Are all transient killer whales completely different to captive ones? Have they evolved to become different species, or the same species acting in different habitats? I guess BBC only gives the license fee payers a fraction of what they pay for.

  • the show pool is 36 feet deep while the back pools are smaller and are only 15 feet deep

  • It's simply not rational to expect an entire species to act in a perfectly uniform way.

  • just like we hav bad days, its the same 4 orcas 2! if they dont feel like performing or the're in a bad mood they might attack or 'show' their trainer that they dont want 2 perform

  • 1:17 beautiful Ulysses..c: The narrarator says Shamu so funny.."shahhmyu"! Its kind of funny that BCC even went to Seaworld...I pictured them knowing their facts and actually caring about the captivity of intelligent mammals. Oh well.

  • It's a documentary on the comparison in behaviors between the two, butthorn.

  • And you're a faggot! :D

  • haha everyones hating on your comment but they can eat shit.

    fuck off haters

  • lol thank you.

  • Most beautiful Whales :) very goog video!

  • How deep are there tanks?

  • About 62ft. deep by 100-200ft. wide.

  • Can I borrow some of the footage? I'll give you all the credit I can.

  • gotta love attenborough!

  • I am watched that DVD:)

    I have it!!<3

  • Where did you get it?!!!!

  • i remember reading about how an ex CIA remote viewer was told to scan one of the killer whales at a seaworld park and he said that the targets thoughts where primative and he had a bad self esteem problem.

  • free all willys now!

  • not in captivity

    these are wild creatures

    let them go

  • aww i love this video :)

  • i meant killer whales
