Aww i feel so sorry for her. I could not imagine how it feels like to be the one wearing it or seeing one wearing it. Hopefully she's doing better now.
i get that you were scared for your child but that is no reason to blame " some teenager who shouldnt have been on the slide" for somthing that was an accident. i might be reading it the wrong way but think of how they must feel knowing you are putting all that blame on them!
@ShodyHarajukuBarbie she broke her femur, which is the longest bone in the human body, is the upper bone in your legs, she had an spiral fracture which means that is was around the bone, completely detached one part to the other. Thay have to inmobilized her hip so she couldn't move her leg/femur bone, so it will heal and seal, she had it for 11 weeks, not fun at all, now she is fine =)
Our 18 month old gets his bright blue spica off this Friday. We CANNOT wait!!! This helps us all prepare. I'm worried about the joint pain afterwards. He slipped on the floor and fell the wrong way which broke his femur so I'm also worried about not freaking out every time he falls or does anything once its off. The SMELL..... its awful!!! Cannot wait to bid the cast farewell! Thanks for sharing. :-)
@MrsBishbulb You welcome, I'm glad that he will be out of that thing soon, we were so happy when the cast came off, she slept better, she was miserable the whole time that she had it. Yes we had issues with the smell as well, I hate it that thing, the guy was like do you want to keep it, I say NOOOOOO thank you, I have tons of photos... get rid of it...the whole thing just left a bad taste in our lives... glad is all over. Blessings to your little guy, and to your family =)
hi I just wanted to thank you for this video, my son gets his spica off this up coming tues. And this video really helps us to prepare him for the up coming removal! I am so excited but nervous, I truely hope he does as well as your beautiful baby girl!
@aloluvzjrray thank you! One thing that I would like to share, that is not in this video and it got me by surprise, well because her legs and hips have been locked in that position for 10 weeks, it will be somehow painful for him after they take the cast off, at least it was for my little girl, right after experiencing that shocking pain they took her to take her xrays and she was terrified to be move, it took her about an hour after the cast was removed to be comfortable again.. blessings <3
My daughter and I have been watching videos all night to help prepare her for the removal. It has been 9 very long weeks....and we still don't know for sure if it is coming off today, but praying that it does. She is 3 1/2. How long did it take before your daughter could walk again? She was very brave during the removal!
I hope your daughter is feeling better now brings back memories of the sound of the plaster cutter and the forceps to release the cast when I had this done when I was a child
@SouthernbelleGymnast she wore a diaper at first, she was potty trainned when that hapenned, so after she felt comfortable with the pain, she pee on her potty chair with cast and all... they left that area uncovered =D
This is tough. My little boy just turned three and has to spend eight weeks in his spica cast. It originally was 6 weeks but he had to get the bones reset and we had to start from scratch. That is a scary thing to have done to you as a child. Way to go girl! You were brave.
@CreekTV yes it was very tough for her and for all of us as this situation affected everybody in our family. The worst experience of my life, now she is fine thanks goodness, running and hopping better than ever, I don't even think she remember this episode anymore, I hope... sorry about your little boy, hoping he is doing well now!! God bless =)
@edgehockey14 we did anything to her, she was just a kid! it was just frustrating for that to happened to us, she was very scared when she saw that she hurt my little girl, so I hope she learned her lesson!!!
she broke her right femur while a unknown teenager grabbed her, put her in her lap and went down the slide, mid way down the both roll over, causing the brake on her leg =( thanks for asking! God bless!
Hey! thank you so much for you comment, my little girl did awesome, I was expecting for her to scream her butt out, specially because that saw machine is so loud I thought she was going to be scared. Something that I was not expecting though and it happened is that once they took that cast off was very painful for her, that part was very harsh, because her hips and legs have been locked in place for so long the first two to three hours was painful for her!
I know this might be weird but how did she go to the bathroom and all that with the cast on!! o.o
MrCoolnick963 6 days ago
@MrCoolnick963 there was a rectangular opening in the private area, front to back where the diaper is =D
