  • On a more positive note. This is awesome.

  • @MimiJanet513 Have you looked around lately? Every country is poor.

  • amazing *-*

  • need to learn the difference in Irish and Scottish i guess

  • Great sound ...he makes it look easy

  • Okay, guys, Irish and Scottish just stop arguing and enjoy the music.

  • @Rilvin2 lol my mum is Scottish and my dad is Irish, but there is a difference betwen thier music :)

  • very talented lad

  • Wich song is these? Btw great job!!

  • thats some decent bit of playing, very talented young man.

  • Who is this bloke? Great lift. Anyone know the name of the tune(s)?

  • Amazing talent. Keep the spirit alive

  • Uillean Pipes FTW Erin Go Bragh

  • why didnt we get this of the camera in the background.... ? would be great quality! great piper though!

  • wich song is this? GREAT!!

  • That was pretty awesome.

  • highland pipes are way better

  • it' feels that this is Irish Pipe! It has a sweet sound...the Scots one is more ''heavy'' as sound! gorgeous both! ^^

  • Excellent pipe tune :)

  • @inachu i think that its just the irish pipes, cuz not once have i seen the highland pipes played like that

  • @Acadienpride Uilleann pipes cannot be played standing, Highland are usually played while erect.

  • what the hell?!?!?!?!?! hes not blowing into the bag to keep it full. or is a girl behind him blowing into it?

  • @inachu uilleann pipes are filled with a bellows, you can see him working it with his right elbow. the reed is so fine that moisture from your mouth would ruin them

  • @TheCharliebro

I thought you have to blow into the bag.. must be an upgraded bag pipe.

  • @inachu

That's the major difference between Irish pipes and Highland pipes. If you watch his right arm (screen left), you can see that rather than blow through a chanter like with highland pipes, with Irish bagpipes you pump air into the bag with a device at your elbow. I can't recall the name of it, and don't want to be bothered to look it up.

  • @bluecheckeredhat I think its called a bellow

  • it takes a true Irishman to play the pipes

  • To all of the idiot American-Irish out there. Please understand that Highland kilts and bagpipes have nothing to do with Ireland.

They are specific to the Scottish culture.

And also, the bagpipes being played in this video and Highland and therefore Scottish.

  • @CrizVelasko Doesn't stop St Laurence O'toole Pipe Band (grade 1) from Dublin from playing Highland pipes. Are you trying to say that PM Terry Tully is not Irish and has no sense of Irish culture.

  • @CrizVelasko These are not highland (Scottish) pipes. You sir need to know what you are talking about before called anyone an idiot.

  • shit yes >:DDDDDD

  • im english and this raised my hackles up

it's the sort of shit you could march into the gates of hell to

    fuckin a

  • Celtic is a language of Ireland witch came from the celts there were no celts of Ireland because celts were not just Irish people it eventualy changed to almost full blown Irish people being celts in the old days when Britain attacked Ireland because the Irish wanted freedom it's basicaly the story of William wallas only on an island

  • @xXxthat1boyxXx we speak irish not celtic and yes we are decended from the celts we also have the oldest historic building i the world and that is newgrange its older than the pyramids and can i just ask are you from america?

  • @matthewdfk it is old yes, but there's a few older buildings, but it's close! same time period.

  • @matthewdfk I hope your not implying that americans are stupid because the oldest building is in japan. Its just discovered, its underwater with heiroglyphs that date back during the 6000BC. So the oldest historic building is not newgrange its in fact located on the sea of japan. :)

  • outstanding fingering technique!!!

  • @thecrusades2

You are right the "Celts of Ireland" are a myth in the sense that the "celts" migrated from central europe to all parts of the British Isles, so in fact the English are celts as well, on top of which the Normans came afterwards etc. again to all parts of the British Isles.

I think your comments about DNA are ridiculous though, all human DNA worldwide is identical to vanishing amounts !! There is also some growing evidence that in fact it was Ireland that was settled first no GB.

  • @PietPassword uilleann pipes were developed in the 18th century, after the disappearance of the Irish Warpipes, you knew that?

I like better the Uilleann Pipes too (in fact, I play them) but they are really recent... I don't really know who invented and brought pipes from where to where... I know that nearly EVERY european culture has its kind of bagpipe, so that's possible that the scottish pipes aren't actually developed from the irish warpipes...

  • I don't give a shit who invented them and where thay came from first. Can't you just enjoy this guys musical excellence and be thankful for the gift he is sharing with everybody listening? All this talk about who such things belong to and where they originate has always lead to conflict, we're all the same, all humans, some have talents the go above and beyond the rest of us...thank god for them and enjoy.

  • McGregor.....you're an IDIOT!!!

  • such a harty jig my friend

  • The Bagpipes used here were derived from bagpipes similar to the scottish ones today called the Great irish warpipes, these pipes were invented because the english would hang any irish man using the pipes to call the men to fight the saxon!

  • Comment removed

  • I think you'll find that the Scots invented the Highland Bagpipe which is the most commonly used today.

Kilts have NOTHING to do with Ireland.

The culture of bagpipes are kilts are Scottish - it's just idiot Americans who think they are Irish!

  • @222macgregor Someone hates Americans i see

    u mad

  • @222macgregor So, only Americans have this misconception? No one else in the entire world is subject to this falsehood but Americans? Everyone else instinctively knows from birth that Kilts and Ireland are not associated in any way shape or form. Are you 3 years old?

  • who gives a shite where they came from as long as the person playing them can play them!!!!!!!!

  • Great music. Don't think I've seen that kind of bagpipe before. Looks like he works a bellows with his right elbow?

  • song's name, or just random tunes? :P

  • They're called Uileann pipes for future reference.....

  • fuck you scots, irish invented bagpipes, kilts and porridge, ye frauds of the irish,

  • @Mrdede1998

irish didn't invent bagpipes, scots didn't invent bagpipes. some guy in mesopotamia did around 200 A.D.

but scots sure as hell invented the kilt! alba ga brah!!!!!!

  • @sacredsong Just wanna correct your spelling, it's "Alba gu Bràth"

  • maith thú, a mhic!

  • this is not irish bagpipes, this is Scottish bagpipes, the difference between the two is ,Scottish bagpipe is more majestic than Irish bagpipe ,so Scottish bagpipe is usually used by army ,that could encourage the soldiers . try "the south wind" my favorite Irish bagpipe song

  • @tiexiezhenhanzi these are actually called uilleann pipes. while you are correct that scottish bagpipes were historically played by an army to inspire soldiers going into battle they are larger with the air necessary for playing supplied by the piper via a mouth piece and they are usually played while standing (for marching.) While the uilleann pipes are played while sitting in a manner like this in doors with the air provided by a bellows located under the piper's arm

  • @Irishman369 thx, after you said,i notice this one is different ,Scottish bagpipe is uesd by movie “brave heart” ,however ,i like irshi bagpipe more ,cause that sounds could quieten me,besides that ,is also like Ocarina and CHI BA

  • although it ewas historically incorrect to do so, the soundtrack of "Braveheart" used Irish Bagpipes-not Scottish ones

  • @tiexiezhenhanzi i play this kind of bagpipe, and believe. it is irish :) its called the uilleannpipes. the tone of the irish uilleannpipes is softer and more soothing than the scottisch highlandpipes which is a bit more rough and chaotic.. i like both, but my preference goes to this one :) ( thats why i play it ^^)

  • Grand!

  • feck yeah

  • Crackin' tunes!!

  • @kilt41 No definetely not

  • I love Irish bagpipes ! very nice song ! Congrats ! ;) great irish spirit.

  • ARGENTINA E IRLANDA !

  • what's this guy's name? fuckin class playing

  • Rainbolt, your ignorance exudes you! I can feel your frustration, but that's only because you echo resentment from perhaps a past experience. Contrary to what you might think, the mexican government and its people have great respect for the Irish AND Ireland! I hope you visit Ireland and mexico on St patricks day and see the history behind the St. Patricks battalion. And again, Viva Ireland!

  • On behalf of all mexicans in Los Angeles. Viva Ireland!!! Viava San Patricio!!

  • @koolarrowu2 you fuckin cockroaches can get our healthcare but not our holiday.. FUCK YOU

  • @rainbolt1982

You slime, irish men gave their life fighting for mexico against the north american invation. You reek ignorance and racism, the same kind the irish had to endure when they touched american soil. VIVA IRLANDA, VIVA MEXICO, VIVA EL BATALLON DE SAN PATRICIO!!!

  • Sounds a bit like The Corrs' Toss The Feathers

  • Happy St. Patrick's Day to all the Irish and Irish at heart.

  • What is the name of this song????

  • He is awsome!!! I am not Irish but I may be in love with an Irish. :)

  • yeah amazing, nothing can brake the irish spirit.

  • @pater429 certainly not

  • Thanks for posting this vid. Great music! 5* for this.

  • alright,,indeed!!

  • great stuff.

  • The person doing the taping may have also asked permission beforehand, and seeing the lack of concern on the player's face, that would be my guess. It is also obviously a professional camera, not Mommy and Daddy's $500 K-Mart vidcam, so It may also be safe to guess that it may have been a paid performance.

  • heroo!!

  • In responce to the few comments negative about cameras, if you don't like to be filmed, either suck it up, or don't play at all.

  • Bloody great stuff

  • ever occur to you knuckle heads who wanna punch ppl that this kid has OBVIOUSLY done this before. had TIME to please only himself. and was putting on what we like to call a PERFORMANCE. and the ppl around him are obviously very proud of him.

    slancha

  • He's class. What is the name of this song?

  • irish bagpipes are called uileann pipes

  • great

  • The clapping kinda ruins it :(

    Great playin' though!

  • As does the douche with the camera all up in his face... I would have stopped playing and yelled at him.

  • very nice
