@loknloll I would not come close to ever saying that Chris doesn't care about his job. Yes, he sometimes hits bad notes live, but think about how rough that must be on his voice. part of the issue here is the mix on cornell's voice is INCREDIBLY dry. you'd never hear his voice, or any singer's, that raw and untreated on albums or live normally. thus you hear every little bit of shakiness, etc.

but i noticed this everytime i saw soundgarden (when chris was at his supposed peak...), he sings out of tune. it made soundgarden shows almost unenjoyable. unlike some concert goers, i like to actually hear (and for what i have to pay for a fuckin ticket) good performances. i expect to. he's outta tune.

@loknloll Ehh, i've seen some Live Led Zepplin where Robert hit some band notes. After an hour or so of belting, you're voice gets pretty hoarse. Plus, Robert Plant lost most of his High range when He was around 30. Chris in this video is like 40. So give him props that he can sing like that at all.

he smoked and drank excessiveley between 1997 and 2002 when audioslave was formed. apparently they had to take shitloads of takes of him singing cuz his voice is ruined. he quit all that shit now tho and his voice is alot better but he'll never have the full power like he used to. you can really hear the decline if you listen to soundgarden's "down on the upside" then his solo project "euphoria morning" and finally audioslave.

this is an extremely hard song to sing. I've been practicing at it for a few weeks now, and I'm only kinda good at it... Cornell does an amazing job of singing this one. And he's putting his soul into this song, and in my opinion, cheesy as it is, that's all that matters.
