you cant compare proton with those companies. first of all, proton is a government owned and heavily protected company. not competitive driven. proton might improve, because probably just to change their image, or whatever reason other than to produce the best quality car that people will buy on their genuine choice. second, toyota honda bmw mercedes all has made real good cars from the beginning, atleast for those times. they were often a breakthrough model.

also Forte's handling is pure shit, a 2009 Gen-2 CPS high line model has the same safety/quality, 100x better handling and performance. (and cheaper too, or 100x more stylish if put Proton Gen2 R3 bodykit.)

i meant R3 bodykit + R3 performance CPS cams + R3 ECU tuning and suspensions, 170hp tops. costs like RM10000. combine it with the manual hi-line Gen-2 CPS price, its still cheaper than the Forte.

also ori R3 bodykit is not ricey, its made for true FWD aerodynamics optimization.

@ArticMuse lol not really, ever heard of Crumple Zone in a Proton? absorbs impact and destroys the body, except that the cabin is secured and you'll not injured. combine that with the high tensile roll cage (standard in every Proton), ABS (CPS standard), EBD (CPS standard too), B-EBD (CPS standard also), 2 SRS airbags (surely for a CPS Proton).

@ArticMuse also ESP and TCS is not needed, mainly coz the handling, tyre grip, and minimal body roll in Gen-2 CPS are already too good for a sedan/hatchback.

those ESP and TCS also decreases fuel efficiency, and tyre life, mainly coz they mainly work by applying brakes on slipping tyres. R3 small LSD addon in Protons is the way to go :)

(LSD works by transferring energy from high grip tyres to slipping tyres, so you can take faster corners/ brake hard with no danger of losing control)

(which they never will) avanza parts made in indonesia assembled in malaysia. Perodua alza and avanza uses same engine because alza is manufactured with toyota/daihatsu cooperation duhh..so i think you are still pointing out Perodua is better than Proton exora. which is ofcourse true because its not Malaysian 100%.

Few cars will have a survival rate when hit at 80-90km.. but the reason for 35 because thats the standard speed of impact after braking is applied, car makers EXPECT drivers to break before an impact. You dont keep on accelerating after seeing a car heading towards you, even in a split second.. you brake..duh. So read up about Crash Tests.

Lu lagi bodo, sejak lu tahu sgt yg proton keta tin milo tu, aku nak tahu.. apa tin milonya tu? ada seorg pekerja utk syarikat membekal "sheet metal" tempatan utk buat body keta.. dia cakap yg syarikat dia membekalkan meterial itu utk keta toyota, perodua, honda dan proton.. dia cakap, proton pakai sheet metal yg paling tebal dan disaluti lapisan cat sekarang ni.. manakala T, H dan P2 menggunakan sheet metal yg nipis dan plain.

takashisupreme, kalo ko bwk 100km/h dan terasa nak langgar keta kat depan, ko tekan brek ataupun tidak? apa yg ko akan buat dlm keadaan panik? apa agaknya speed ko semasa ko langgar keta kat depan tu? Tahu apa itu crumple zone? langgar benda yg berganjak dan tidak berganjak, sama tak "momentum" dia dan kadar pelupusan impak hentakan sama tak? Kalo langgar tembok 100km/h kat mana tu? kat dlm kawasan perumahan ko drive 100kmh ke? bangunanan btl2 berada ditepi jln ke? soalan critical thinking nih.

kalau boleh buat crash test dari tepi, dan kamera tunjuk kat bahagian kaki nak tengok dia punya tempat pijak miyak dan brek tu terangkat ke tak.

rollover crash test, chasis tengah nampak memang kuat.. front crash test, nampaknya memang enjin dia rosak teruk, tapi nampak cermin tak pecah, orang dalam tu nampak macam selamat.

kalau aku mungkin bagi 3 1/2 bintang sebab tak ada crash test dari tepi dan kamera tak tunjuk apa jadi pada tempat kaki pemandu.
