anyone can help me with the lite version? I found several sources, but the design is a bit different, it's a lockback knife and 440c, but I found nothing in the website, any idea?
@jankrix ....Regards jankrix...i owned a hunter pro lite...its a great knife....fantastic handles and the blade with the 440C was razorshard and holds the edge very well !
Nothings wrong with this knife...greetings from germany.....!!!
@stephan123321 danke stephan, I'm a bit confused because I can't find any resources for the lite version, I found the magnum lite, but it's different, how's about the lock? If I'm not mistaken it's a mid lock right? freundlichen grüßen, J
LOL you do realise you have like almost double the subs that Blade Mag has, which is the most popular knife magazine..... Soooo...... Maybe Blade is small time now lol :)
It seems to me that you had a bias but they got you to change your tune with a little payola. are you a critical reviewer or just a talking head? Their overall quality control couldn't have changed that quickly in one month, don't you think they would go over the guyana lite with a fine tooth comb before they sent it off to you for a review? And I'm very surprised that you didn't restate in this review that this hunter is still overpriced at over 200! IS BLADETECH NOT ON WEED THIS MONTH? ;-)
Nutnfancy doesn't receive money from manufacturers. I know that's a complicated concept for you to wrap your head around, but there are decent people in this world.
I find it a little odd that you crapped on the cheaper MLEK version in july and called it swapmeet quality. Then said the american versions are overpriced and stated "they're on weed" . The next month they send you this high end one and you're gushing like a schoolgirl. You even gave the taiwan made guyana lite a thumbs up for quality in a latter review. I doubt its much better then the other mlek in fit and finish, they're both made in the same overseas factory.
I just lost mine today while trimming the laurels. Maybe it will turn up, but I fear, I will need to get another, and I will. This is my favorite folder.
I would like to have seen you mention something about the awesome ergonomics of this knife. I know that is a personal opinion, but still. This knife is known for its excellent ergonomics. I also think some people are turned off by the "hunter" title of this knife. The Pro Hunter is all tactical. I carry one as a duty knife (LEO) and it is the standard by which I judge other folders.
*whistles* man I know you've done some good knife reviews on youtube, but that was super nice of them to send you these 2 knives together that are somewhat over 200 dollars retail. I know it doesn't cost them that to give them to you and they want the advertising, but it's still sweet for you. Looks like a very nice knife. If it wasn't so expensive I would really look at getting one. I might look seriously at getting the smaller ganyana though.
I have been a big fan of the Wegner knife shape since skinning and processing 6 caribou at a sitting with the old Spyderco Wegner. I still prefer the Spyderco but the Bladetech version is very good as well... My Pro Hunter has got a lot of use and is the best hunting folder on the market today IMO. The blade shape is unbeatable for processing game with the point to start your cuts, the belly to skin and the ergonomics and strength to take a beating.
Nice review man, this knife looks solid I might have to get myself one.. and Props to Blade Tech for providing you with more review material, a very cool move on their part.
likeability scale?

The jimping on the top part of the blade are used for your two fingers so you can use two hands to skin.

if you like that blade design check out the spyderco stretch

PS. I LOVE the design and got the old ats 34 spyderco for under $100 as well as the "swapmeet" taiwan pro hunter lite for 30 as a beater.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
can't this knife be manufactured in china to reduce the cost and price and still maintain the quality???
NeoQuello 2 years ago
Yeah sure, It could be made in China. It would just put someone out of work at Blade-Tech, but YOU could save a few bucks.

Since they're almost identical in design, would you prefer this or a Spyderco Ocelot?

I would have liked to see you show a little of the liner lock and speak of the lockup.
And yeah I'm one of the ones that doesn't care one bit about weight.

So what's that chances of you giving this knife away to a hunter like me?

Another nice review..I agree.. the color of the scales are nice..I wouldn't mind it if they offered it in a desert sand color as well.

I have put in on my list though.
