thats just the back track, when bands first come onto the scene, they have to make it sound just like the record, if not ppl go out and buy the album and some ppl dont like versions of the songs. So what most bands do at tv shows or things like that, they do all they can to make it sound just like the recording off the album......its totally live, just the back track of the vocals.

They are 100% playing the instruments, if you know anything about guitarwork and drumming you can tell. When it comes to the singing and background vocals they are on not live, that is easily heard.

Drums and guitars are usually live on TOTP, however the song is usually also looped on top of that to cover singing, background vocals and bass. Drumming is 100% down to the T. I know because I am pretty good having played 12 years, of which a few professionally but it seems the loop stuff is def there.

Its not actually different from their album, except it is in a different key but same recording. For example the radio version (which they are playing) is in Fmajor which was just altered (which can be dne by altering it in mix) for some reason from the Album version being in Emajor. Its quite clever, but very few people actually play their guitars up a half step as its really hard to sing that high, especialy when the vocals are up that high and plus vocals are too clean for it to be live.

no the harmony part of the solo, two guitars are meant to be playing lead lines, yet you can still hear the rhythm guitar still playing. So therefore there are 3 guitars playing at the same time (technically 4 as the rhythm section is doubled) when only to guitarists and a bassist is "playing". I'm not degrading the darkness, love the guys but they arent playing
