But yes I am just starting out but I have read a lot to try to get a head start. I actually haven't even jumped yet but have my first jump set up for my birthday on the april 15th. @akjensli Ok, I can see now that it is from an unstable body position. You got unstable when you threw your pilot chute. Looks almost like your arm was still up when the chute deployed and almost entangled in it. So you should have thrown the pilot out to the side more right? I'm trying to learn.

As far the accident is concerned he has a very bad position @ deployment. if you look at the video carefully the moment he deploys he body totally unbalanced having a vertical position instead of horizontal one which should be the case resulting unblanced opener and line twists. In skydive she should need just few seconds to fix it but that is not how it works with BASE.

Plimbuff.. Pulling too early is not a "problem". She was falling straight down the line twist would gave happened either way. I would say if you had that much time like she did why not track away from the walls a ways. That way if you had an off heading opening like that you would have some extra space to steer away. And I think a slider may be a bad idea. Or maybe it would give her more time to keep the canopy on heading before full inflation?? Eh...
