This is probably true with the higher end yoyos, but you really feel a difference between the different low end ones. I personally think that the Peak's overkill.. is there a noticeable difference in play between them?

Oh yeah, there is definitely a noticeable difference between yoyos at the lower end of the price spectrum. Legacy, FHZ, PGM, etc. All of them play very differently from eachother, but all of them are capable of performing every one of your tricks. Lately, I've been greatly enjoying the Protostar.

damn u did one throw in the time it takes me to do maybe 3 with my DV888. i hate my Xcon but i think it is becaue it is slightly broken and spins out fast and doesn't have the right feel/thump when it hits the bottom of the string. what is wrong and how do i fix it. or an easy mod.

You made a point and a good one at that. However with the X-Convict I can tell that you had more troubles getting it where you wanted it to go. Because simple as that the Peak performs better it goes where you want it too much easier, that being said doesn't mean that I condone kids who can only rock the baby going out and buying peaks its just when you get to the level of play you will want a higher end yoyo.

now after 1 month my X-convict sleeps for 2 min and 30 sec...

Maybe in the future it will sleep longer...

in response to the second paragraph of the description a yo-yo is only as good as the hand that holds it up to a certain point but when you need a yoyo that sleeps longer because the yoyo you have just wont sleep that long not matter who you are then it is time to move on but for anyone that is new you dont need to go get a nice 100 dollar yoyo even for the upgrades to that most of the time you can mod the yo yo you have without doing any work to get what you want.

You can get a plastic yoyo with enough sleep time. A well modded FAST 201 in the right hand can sleep for 4 minutes.

I have a lancer II that was my first real bearing yo, and I have to say, just spot out annd get a hot shot, if you dont want to spend more money. If you have the cash, get yourself something like this guys Exconvict, I bought that one too, and I found it to be my favorite so far. another great one to snag, is the Ooch Signature Yo, it is another Yomega(about 40 bucks) and well worth it and more. It comes with an ABEC7 bearing, and it spins forever for me.
