  • Thats great!!always want to exel in my chord structure,,,Thanks bro!!!!

  • For everyone who keep on asking what that animal is at the end, it is a Tasmanian Devil. An Australian wildlife animal found on the island of Tasmania, and the reason why Justin has it at the end is because its just a fun thing because he is originally from Tasmania in Australia.

  • thanks mate, im asuming that i can make minors, 7th, sus etc with the triad shapes?

  • how does this help ? i'm understanding it but just not really sure when to use it.

would it help for solos or something ?

and when a lead guitar does a guitar fill or solo or whatever then should it only have the notes that the chord thats being played has in it ?

sorry this might be abit hard to understand but please reply!

  • bloody hell stop making it look so easy +)

  • wow! i really love your lessons, I came to youtube to find barr chord instruction but found so much more, great videos! :)

  • Love It

  • thank you this is a very very good job.

  • great lesson!

  • A fella I've never met in person but with whom I maintain a friendly relationship on a guitar web-site suggested I take a look at your videos and web-site. So I check out your web-site and you-tube videos. I was in the process of learning about chord construction, inversions, and playing up the neck when my friend suggested your teachings. I watch your vids several times and things start to click in my head! Ain't the internet grand!

  • this guy sux hairy balz

  • @wranglertjful what kind of comment is that?? did you come here to learn a guitar lesson on triads or to be an immature jackass

  • @imjohnandyouare look this jackass insulted a guy he didnt even know and acused him of being a pedo, and then proceded to call me a pedo because i told him that you shouldnt accus people on the internet, and then he posted rude comments all over my videos

  • please go to guitarsecrets(dot)com(slash)all(underscore)notes(dot)htm. This is where my confusion comes from. They give a pattern to know which notes r in the same octave, but I want to know how we can know octaves other than that pattern. Or at least how can know that C on the third string is the same as the other ones you played before.

Perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions by assuming that you were choosing a C that is the same octave as the other ones? All I want is a response either way.

  • also, on the third string, when you went from the G chord to the C one, why did you choose the one starting on the 5th fret instead of the 17th fret? How did you know which one to pick? I know they're two diff octaves, but were you basing it on the one being on the 5th fret being the same octave as the other C chords you played? And if that's what you did, how did you know it was the same octave as the other ones? Trial and error? Sorry if my question is hard to understand, I don't know how else

  • hi, did you explain why you chose triads whose tonic(or root) are in a series of 5ths(P5s)? C, G, and D? R the chosen chords of a song always supposed to be a P5 apart? Thanks.

  • you are honestly the best teacher of chords on the internet. This is the first time I can honestly say I completely understand what's happening in the video. Thank you!!! I will subscribe!

  • Another wonderful lesson Justin -

I find myself ending every song with a Db followed by a fading F# - just like the rodent does..

It's a good way to understand "Tension & Resolution"

  • Thank you Justin, you're the best!

  • Your'e a born teacher Justin!

  • wtf is with the wolverine at the end

  • It's the icing on the cake!

  • Its a Tasmanian devil. This guy was born in Tasmania.

  • how do you know, with respect.?

  • Look on his profile, he was born in Tasmania. Have you not seen the Tasmanian devil cartoon? They are famous animals and very aggressive little things.

  • okay, just wanted to ask, lol aggressive little things!

  • okay i guess i just didn't look well enough:)

  • Yeh. Look for them on here. They have the hardest bite of any mammal.

  • Mr. Justin,

    (Stupid) Question:

From the G root note on the 8th fret, why cant we use the D root note on the 15th fret (i.e. one octave higher than the "original D")

    Thank you

    Ram

  • Great lesson Justin.

People, Justin needs donations to keep these free lessons going. Do consider contributing if you are able. Too many sponging parasite freeloaders don't!

  • 4:00 LOL :D

    great lessons!

  • hey Justin, you're awesome!

  • Thanks, Justin,

About a year ago I went out and bought a guitar at the age of 54 and started trying to learn to do something I'd always wanted to do. I can play a few songs now, and have really enjoyed doing the practice sessions, odd as that may sound. I sent off for a couple of your dvd's and gave the beginner dvd to my 12 yr old granddaughter to get started. She takes violin lessons, but loves guitar. Thanks for everything. Also, thanks for your good works in Africa and your good spirit

  • Justin. As always the best guitar lesson videos on the web, what more can I say. Thanks for all of your time and effort. I have been playing guitar for 30+ years and still I learn from your videos. I hope you never get bored of it.

  • fantastic lesson i jammed along with you there, was good fun, cheers!

  • oh i start to love these triad chords, thanks justin. You are an amazing person.

  • What happened to your videos, so many pixels in there :(

  • i dont see it, maybe its your pc

  • No, this video is more compressed than previous lessons.

  • bf2 is right. The image quality is much worse than it used to be. Grateful as always for the lesson, though

  • The first time i uploaded these clips they were shocking, i had tried a new format, so I re-cut them with the same settings as before, so they should be as good :( maybe the YT people changed something?

  • Thanks for your reply Justin. As usual, I tried the &fmt=18 thingy but that didn't make it any better.

  • There is a maintenance on the site today, maybe that's the thing.

  • @JustinSandercoe YT people put ads in ur vids!

  • @JustinSandercoe

Is it ironic that you put out free lessons; not making money out of it, and YT puts ads at the beginning of these vids to make money?

  • I never understood the point of saying "Second"...i still dont...fanx very much 4 the tutorial ^-^
