That's cool! I don't really know anything about PCE CD, but the fact that you have Dragon Warrior running on a different console is pretty awesome.
But, is it just me or do the battle sound effects seem slightly more obnoxious than they're supposed to?

It's not just you - they're completely different (compared to the NES version). They weren't blips, they were almost processed noise. =/ Still sounded better than a beep, methinks.

is the shifting to the right an artifact of your capture method, or is it part of the game?

No, it's not an artifact from my capture card. I shifted the image to the right and forget to re-center it on the system.
