Pretty solid downhill action on his fastball and he seems to repeat his delivery. Offspeed pitches are being delivered from the same release point as his fastball, which is what you look for from a command and consistency standpoint from a pitcher.
I think an easier answer without giving you a lesson would be to watch some videos on pitching.com on his blog, it explains it all very well.. Again stride your height then throw.
@nickmartin12 thanks for trying, I've just grown frustrated cause I work out a lot on core n throwing and just stuck...read 4 different books and followed them and just staying the same....I'm starting to believe that this stuff is all genetics...you are one of the lucky ones I guess
Just stride out as far as you can then land and dont slow your arm or body down. Don't get too technical, move as fast as yu can sideways towards the plate as far as you can "closed" then cut it loose!
@nickmartin12 Thanks for the response Nick! See the issues I've been having is understanding what "closed" means. I've read a lot of pitching books and the one I finished up on is Tom House's "Building the Million Dollar Arm" and one of the things I picked up from it is Hip/Shoulder Separation and the "squeeze and Swivel" glove technique.
I see good hip/shoulder separation and chest going to the glove with you and my issues is I've been yanking/pulling my glove to the side...
@nickmartin12 and when I keep my glove out in front it feels really weak just letting my chest go to the glove but if I "torque it" (hold my shoulders back as my hips go I feel that stretch feeling and can really "cut it lose" as you say when I got to swivel and pull my arm through....(sorry for being technical I'm just trying to get things right) so I was hoping you could clarify and help me out a little with your technique! I really do appreciate your responses a ton, I respect them!
hey nick I have a mechanics question that I need help with...when your hips are rotating towards the plate is your upper body rotating away from the plate when you are bringing the chest to the glove after foot strike/plant?
I live up to pitchers like you, keep up the good work!

This must be older than the backyard video because the elbow action is much better, good work.
