  • That's not fishing, that's shit.

  • geat job me n my dad n a few buddies found a hot spot for crappies in the metro area we have caught all for of us catch our ten fish limet in about 45min and they are all 10 to 14inch.its alot of fun especially when there is only 6 people that know about it:) no lie and dont believe me ill send u pics

  • @zinkcallsFTW u tell me ur hot spot ill tell u mines!!!

  • Good video

  • Wow! This video reminds me of my childhood. My Dad used to take me ice-fishing in Wisconsin. Great memories, thanks for posting.

  • Nice video. What model hatcam is this?

People quit asking lake why would he give it up. Right now I'm on a hot lake in metro area minnesota kept a limit of 10" last 2 nights biggest last night was 13" but he went back and last winter caught a 15" took some measurements and pictures and had a replica mount.

    Good luck this season

  • @midwestbrdr...Flip Mino on the camera. Congrats on the catch and release of the 15"er!

  • Runts

  • I never understood how the flasher worked...

  • Wow, I bet he tasted pretty delicious!!

  • Wow, this is the best ice fishing video on YouTube that I have seen yet! What was the biggest crappie you caught that day? Catch any blugills?

  • @Blugill41 ...Thanks! No gills and the biggest crappie was around 13".

  • What is that light flashing thing for?

  • Nice spring bobber. Mind sharing what brand it is? I've actually been looking for one but it's hard to find one that will meet your needs. This one actually looks like it'll do a great job.

  • @MNLoveOutdoors...it's a JR's Tackle spring bobber rod. I don't see it on their website but give them a call. Best ice rod I have ever owned!

  • looks like he caught the same fish over and over

  • Great video! Love watching ice fishing videos, and this was a very good one

  • haha on that first catch you were like little bastards lol i was thinking the exact same thing hahaha

  • what lake is this in minn

  • Great video! It's getting me pumped up for the upcoming season! Check out my vids, I'm also into crappie fishiing.

  • r u using a hat cam?

  • @xSFU420x ...yes using the Hatcam!

  • wat kind of bait were you guys using

  • how fast were they hitten?

  • i bought a humminbird ice 45 this year and its a tank.. my lx5 just stoped working one day so i am never goin to buy another marcum.. my friends lx3 is a p.o.s too

  • @trxexrider13....haven't heard of that many people liking the hummingbird. I know of 3 people that tried them and brought them back. Odd the LX-5 just stopped working....bad ducer??? I would send it in to Marcum....their customer service is top notch!

  • You did 11 seconds to drill that hole!

  • does the meat spoil if you dont clean them right away?

  • @theballamike...no the meat is fine.

  • @theballamike No it doesn't, in fact my husband and I have crappie fished at night during the summer time in Mich, We come in about Midnight or 1, take the fish and put them in a plastic bag, like the ones you get from Wal-Mart. Drop the bag in a portable freezer with ice. We clean them the next morning. This firms the fish up and much easier to clean and filet. We don't keep any crappie under 10 inches.

  • Hey bassman what lake were ya fishin?

  • xboxhero3 that black box is called a fish finder lol its makes it easier to know how deep u set ur line at so u can catch the fish

  • thats a beastly strike master ogger

  • What is that black box goin in tha water, I wanna get into ice fishing.

  • @xboxhero3 ...Marcum LX5 fish graph. Marcum makes the best fish finders out there! Check out the Marcum VX1 for a good starter unit.

  • @xboxhero3

dont go marcum vx-1 go marcum lx-5 or humminbird ice 35 ice 45 ice 55 for a starter unit ill go humminbird ice 35 its cheap and has the 9 to 20 transducer. witch you will want trust me. i have fished with vexilar marcum and humminbird. the best one out there is the marcum lx-5 but any of the humminbirds work just as good as marcum. if you get any of these units you will love it! triple the amount of fish you catch

  • Very good video, I like the hatcam gives a cool first person view, you guys get anything else beside crappie?

  • @phishing4fun....the Flip cameras now have a magnetic wide angle lense you can add on. It really adds to the viewing area. Nothing but crappies this trip out.

  • @bassman96 alright thank you, now with ice slowly coming around here in canada for me, I can get some sick new photoage for ice fishing

  • @phishing4fun....right on! You going to shoot vids with the hatcam? If so post them on the hatcam site in the forums section. Were sitting on about 12" of ice right now. Hope to get out a couple times this weekend.

  • @bassman96 of course I'll shoot some videos with the hatcam, going to check ice conditions this afternoon, how much did you guys get on top of that 12" of ice?

  • @phishing4fun...snow wise...not much at all. Most of it blew off. Pretty cold temps lately...making some good ice this week.

  • r u using a hat cam?

  • @AP1671 ....yup the Flip Mino Hatcam.

  • woudl you recommend those bibs that you had on that have the padding in the knees? always wanted to get a pair but never knew if the 100$ was worth it

  • @TheBigfisher23.....100% yes! My wife bought the ice armor suit for me for Christmas. I would have never spent $299 on them myself. I am certainly glad she did! :) Strikemaster makes a very good suit also. That might be a bit less expensive but the quality seems very good. Mice ate the canvas on my portable fish house last year. The ice armor has become my portable. :)

  • What was the spoon you were jigging with at the beginning of the video?

     Looked orange.

  • @MNLoveOutdoors...It's a UV Bloodworm colored Hot Tamale. Google Jack's Tackle and you can see some better pics of it. One of my favority lures for crappies and perch!

  • @bassman96 Found out a good spoon to use is a JR jigging spoon... been working pretty good for me and has caught various fish on it, tipped with spikes, waxies, or minnow head/whole. Got a nice little rattle and a lot cheaper, too (no more than $3.00 a piece) compared to Northland ice spoons. Shot a few videos and got some action on crappie too if you feel like checking it out. Good fishing!

  • What's the spoon you're using?

  • Nice Crappies!

  • how many crappies did ya keep? seems like they were hitting that day

  • @FishboiFishboi ...I may have kept a limit of 10 this trip out. It's not too often I do that....lots of catch and release.

  • @bassman96

    haha ok. too much cleaning?

  • was the battery goin dead on your lx-5?

  • @Recepression...No it was the camera I was recording with. Not sure why it didn't show up. Some times it shows the graph fine and other times it doesn't.

  • Wow, sorry about the multiple posts. I am YouTube challenged but have just learned how to make one fewer mistake. I could not see my posts so kept making them. I was not watching for them properly. Sorry

  • @fred98321 ....no problem. I'll remove them for ya. Tight lines....

  • @bassman96 ... Thanks for that. I'll look forward to your future videos. Take care ...

  • Thanks, I wish I could swing by but I'm up in Alberta, Canada. Yes, their prices are great. I ordered some jigs and will likely get more after evaluating them. As eager as I am to get out on the ice mother nature is not co-operating. We have no snow, no ice, and above zero temperatures in early November! This is not right. Something needs to change soon.

Best regards and happy freezing temperatures!

  • @fred98321....same deal with us here in Northern, MN. Good luck with the JR's jigs! You will be seeing a lot of them in my ice vids this winter. Let me know when the cold air is heading my way. :)

  • @bassman96 ... Well, we got a good freeze last night. It's -6C now. That should be making a good start on some ice! Looking forward to your vids. Best regards.

  • Great video. Beautiful scenery. Top notch equipment. Perfect technique. Nice fish! May I ask which JR’s rod you are using? 24" ultra light or 26" medium light? Thanks.

  • @fred98321...thanks! Been meaning to look at the rod to see which one it is but I keep forgetting. I think it's a medium light.

  • @bassman96 ... Thanks. Sorry I missed your reply. I contacted the folks at JR's and sent them the link to your video. They thought it was a Spring Bobber 26" Rod. I decided to go for a 24" UL. Should get here soon. Can't wait for the ice! Best regards.

  • @fred98321...the folks at JR's are great to work with! If your ever near their store swing in....they have a huge tackle selection and the prices are very very reasonable. Good luck with the rod! I love my fall bass fishing but I am looking forward to the ice season!

  • Good eating!

  • what lake are you on?

  • put a music on. its so boring.... :(

  • great video man .

    -15 thats cold

  • Thanks!

  • 5* ice fishing video; great job. You guys have my respect for enduring those incredibly cold conditions. Yes, that auger was amazing as it cut through 2' of snow in about 10 seconds. Nice crappie, too!

  • Thanks! I believe that auger is only 26lbs also....not bad for 3hp and 10" bit!

  • 29lbs with the 10" bit

  • very nice

  • Nice video! Even though it was -20 i seemed like there was no wind, the wind is wat really gets me out on the ice. I cant stand it *****

  • Exactly....no wind at all. I didn't have gloves on much at all. The bite was good enough to keep them warm. :)

  • I've never seen that before on the tip of your rod; is that a spring bobber, what kind?

  • Yea, it's a spring bobber. Not sure the exact "kind" but it's a JR's Tackle rod & reel combo.
