She reacted like any mother would. Went towards her kids, no mother is going to think of themselves if their children are in trouble. Even though they probably weren't in any danger because the barracuda probably didn't see them, but she still had the mother reaction.

Poor Marlin he has so many bad moments in this film. His wife Coral is killed along with all but one of his eggs, Nemo tells him he hates him just before he loses the most precious thing in the world to him. Then he swims through the ocean to find him and then he thinks hes dead and then he nearly loses him a final time in the net.

I feel so sorry for him I mean after Coral and most of his eggs were eaten, he was just trying to protect Nemo and be a good dad.

this is such a perfect opening, it lets the viewer know why Marlin is so over-protective considering how traumatizing this scene is, it's unbelievably intense and unexpected.

Maybe Coral and the rest of the eggs got swallowed by that giant fish but maybe JUST maybe she managed to some how escape out of it's mouth with all of her eggs by storing them in a head of a dead fish - swam them back up the throat of the giant fish thing while it was sleeping and made her break for freedome with all of her babies! Realised she was now far away from home and settled into a nice plant till her babies hatched. Then they all went looking for Nemo and his pops! COPYRIGHTING THAT!
