Hal Ashby was one of the greatest and, sadly, most underrated film makers of the 70's...the last "golden age" of American cinema. His body of work quite impressive.
i love Ashby...the butler we can see at the beginning of your video is...he thought he can change the reality with the remote control.i saw this movie in Italy in the late70s...can someone tell me the original title...?? I think this movie the best i've ever seen....it's a brilliant metaphore about the hidden power of the t.v...prophetic,at least in italy.....
Hal Asbhy was a genius! Every movie he made was unique and original. You can really feel the spirit and dreams of the 70's in his movies, he's definitely an icon of that period. Thanks for uploading, great work!
Thanks Billy!! I love it. Your videos make me want to rush out and buy the films I haven't yet seen.
Great tribute to 'Harold & Maude' which I have seen, and made a great impression on me. When will the powers that be release Cat Stevens' great soundtrack to that movie on CD??
Very good, very good! SORRY ASK. What exactly you do? Your work, I mean? Edition? You make video edition look so easy to do. Must have a very good colection of movies for do this. Anyway, congratulation on making videos so good.
This is a great tribute to Hal Ashby! His films were out of this world. Great directing, writing, producing, and quality scripts. My all-time favorite film of his is "Coming Home". Jon Voight did an outstanding performance in this movie. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video with us.
Don't know why you re-posted or re-made this video, but at least this time I won't make the mistake of mentioning ....Cinderella Liberty. LOL! And Being There is still one of my favorite movies! Thanks, Rick!
OK Rick, gotta say you were right this flows much much better then the first one!..I loved "I'll get Warren" then cut to Warren Beatty..lol perfect..and the ending shot was pure perfection..my only little teeny thing is I would have liked to see more Goldie from "Shampoo" lol..but you know me!..she is to me like Ann-Margret is to you!..but I anyway this ranks as one of your all-time bests!
@ZABRISKIEPOINTER Thanks, Craig, for your honest opinion which I always respect. Yeah, it's still a bit off, but I've improved upon my dreadfull first attempt, I think. Thanks for watching and lending an ear!
Aces job on this Rick... Exceptional music choice!!! And the ending of your homage (and the last Scene of BEING THERE)... Heavenly if I may say so!! :)
