Your tracking/movement is not in sync with the video camera movement which spoils the illusion

Yep, I agree. Swarby's San Fran video is absolutely amazing. I struggled to track the moon (I tracked the moon and replaced it with the death star) but I think I tracked the shuttle ok (i tracked an aeroplane and masked it out).

I used adobe after effects.

Ah - ok, the ship flew at the same speed as a plane that was coming in to land. I masked out the plane so you can't see it, and motion tracked it.
