i love fish and reptiles and amphibiens but damn these creatures give me shivers haha but ive seen a lot of spiders and b.smithi is the most beautifull....also saw a blue/green one?? dont know the species name that was a beauty too...maybe when i get over it i add some spiders too my collection too....
How many times do they do that in their lifetime? and if you get one as a pet can you just leave it in it's cage and feed it? or do you have to take it out? -shudders-
@Spoofliferocks Adults normally moult once per year. You don't need to take them out either, the British Tarantula Society does not recommend handling your T at all, simply because if you drop it it could kill it. Also if your T had lived in the wild it would not have been handled by humans, so you are by no means depriving it of affection by not handling it.
lol cause their cute, cuddly, fun, and playful :D but i guess some people like certain things and some people dont :p for example some people liking triantulas, insects, ect and some people being scared shitless by them xD sorry if my comment before sounded judgmental i guess at the time i wrote it i was probably freaking out from the video of the spider haha
The fangs are white because they haven't hardened yet. It usually takes them a week or two to do so after a moult. After they have hardened, they're black.
Awesome video. My Mexican Red Knee has molted 3 times since I've had her and I missed it the first two times, but she just molted again about a month ago and I got to watch her. It is so amazing how they can do that. Thanks for posting this video.
That was an incredible sight. My Smithi has molted twice since I've had him and missed it both times. I hope he's used to being handled by the time he's that big.
Completely awesome video, I can see just how exhausting moulting is for a T and why it can kill them when they are old.

It's great when a tarantula moults, they become bigger after and have a new fresh look.

My friend's A. Avicularia got bitten to death by a beetle that hid in the T's hide after his T moulted and was really vulnerable.
