  • Im thinking of going in February do you think there will still be enough snow and tht the pistes will be ok ?

  • If the weather stays like this there will be no problem, in fact I think they still had snow well into April last year. Keep an eye on the Ski Scotland website, oh & all the areas have webcams.

Hope you have a good trip if you do get up there, where are you travelling from?

  • travelling from livingston/ near edinburgh

  • I'd go for it if I were you its only a couple of hours for you & the snow is supposed to be very good this year.

  • Ive been to Vallandry in France it was AMAZEING i really ddnt expect it to be so good i went with my school i really want to go back to vallandry or any other foreign ski resort can you message me back and tell me what its like in the cairngorms as i would like to go some place up north

  • Scottish ski areas are different type of skiing 'experience' to Alps. Weather has a lot more influence on whether you can or cannot ski due to high winds as slopes are all exposed (no trees). On a good day you can have some excellent skiing but those days can sometimes be hard to find in Scotland. I did a massive amount of skiing in Scot as a kid, every winter weekend for 6yrs & if I had time I'd still go up if conditions were OK & I had the time. But it is differnet to the continent.

  • i remember i was going down that so fast i stuck on the snow plow, and it wasent slowing me down, funny times lol.

  • Whoops! I was tripped up by the cross-pond date conversion again! Jan 1 makes sense. I hiked up Cairngorm once in early fall when there was no snow. Beautiful country indeed!!

  • So much snow in July ... amazing!!

  • Yeh, you should try it....but first you should know that over this side of the pond we do day/month/year.

  • you should definitely buy a plane ticket and come skiing in the uk in july, for sure.

maybe even hunt a few polar bears and go skating on our lakes that stay frozen all summer.

  • Scotland is amazing. When there is no snow in Alaska on 7/1 there is lots of snow and ice in the UK!? We should ship our polar bears over there during our Alaskan summer, so they can stay cool! If you guys buy me a ticket ... I'll be there. And I'll bring my guitar! Rock on!

  • er no, I was being very sarcastic. Sorry for the confusion.

  • This isan unsarcastic comment, u should definately come over 2 Scotland, not the highest mountains, but certainly some of the best.
