  • few more lauches and boom goes the 20,000 dollar tranny :(

  • oh yea, that was a fair race......... -_-

  • is that the cobb gtr?

  • saw one last night at open drags and it smoked every car there, its driver eventually got kicked out becuase he was runnin to fast w/o a rollcage, lol, around a 10.5

  • I can't imagaine being in that car, when it moves My face would be at the rear wind screen. SO QUICK!!!

  • Gota lov that GTR

  • ehats the car it raced.

  • the gtr is the best alround package ever

  • what a gtr in or @ pir wow

  • Cause it's alot cheaper then a stock Z06, and tunners are realy just starting to harvest the power that the new V6 can produce.

  • While it makes nice power which i won't knock, it's a V6...tuners are going to have fun with it and make it faster, but what happens when muscle car guys get to the ZR-1? A company like Lingenfelter perhaps? I mean the last vette they kicked out made well over 1000hp on pump gas and low boost. I never saw what the big hype about this car was...the old skylines were nice...this one...eh

  • u do know when they get more power out of the gtr its going to be useful, whilst the corvette wont be putting any of that 1000000hp to the ground, basically, that awd system and technology is going to destroy the corvette on any track

  • Hmmm. Against the Zo6 your probably right. But against the more expensive Zr1 it has no chance in hell unless it is heavily modded and zr1 is stock.

  • honestly wht do u think with handle all that power better, awd or rwd

  • All that power lol. Hes running 11's. AWD has increased weight and drivetrain loss. AWD has its perks but why do you think 90% of real race track cars are RWD ??

lambos, ferrari's, honda nsx/s2000, mazda miata, rx7/8, nissan z's, the list goes on. The AWD list is much shorter.

Subaru's / evo's make for good ralley cars.

Judging from your comments you are not very experienced.

As for the GTR. I doubt they will get that much power out of em. Time will tell. I guess 550whp max

  • lol were we not talking about tuning these cars, both gtr and zr1 or corvette wht ever u wanna use. On a track the gtr will always be better with the same hp as the zr1 or z06, and have u not seen the hennesey gtr already at 800hp. im saying that on a track with the same hp gtr will always win, cause its able to use that hp wereas a corvette will be spinning its tires every turn

  • Well most lambos are awd :)

  • Hennessey is pulling out more than 800HP out of the GTR

  • many racing events stipulate certain car restrictions. Moreover there are fewer awd drive cars to start with. awd skyline gtr's dominated in their respective events they entered in during the 90's. for example they were banned from bathurst in Australia after dominating for a few years even after running boost restrictions and being made to carry ballast.

  • actually theres an 8**hp quad supercharged skyline already

  • ahah every gtr made is 4wd and look how good they do

there are countless 4wd cars that make well over 1000hp

    btw lambos are 4wd

  • @thegarbageman21 YOU SLEEPP THEIR ALREADY A GTR WITH 700HP

  • LOL and your trying to say he doesnt know much?

90% of "real race track cars" as you put it are rwd because of the different series's rules, and the extra expense.

And on the GTR while i realise this comment was awhile ago, even when you wrote it there where more powerfull ones then that. There are a bunch doing 700+whp nowdays. Ide bet when someone makes a serious drag car over 1000whp will be possible.

  • awd

  • go check ring time plz

    ...

    ..

    .

    .

did you do it yet? where's the z06 in comparison? that's why.

  • Oh but where is the ZR-1 in comparison...oh yea..above it. Yah it beat a Z06 around the ring...but its obvious AWD+1/4 Mile=Not happening.

  • goddamn could that engine sound any more non-sexy?

  • i dont like the gt-r but that thing flies off the line!

  • gimme sum of wat u r smokin..most Z06 run 11.7-12.2

sure you might get the odd one doin a wind aided low 11, on a perfectly prepped track on a cold day..lol

  • z06 well driven is 11.4 all day long...any c6 z06 with a decent driver.the old ones go 12.2 c 5 body .

  • Most GTR buyers dont buy that car for doing 1/4 mile runs, it would be a waste of its time and talent, whereas thats a big part of Z06 ownner's agendas.

  • i know and thats why i think these are the two best cars in the world for the money, they outperform cars costing as much as three times more, the gtr is the more practical all around car,the z06 is about brute v-8 muscle.i love them both.

  • Best comment I've seen so far in a GT-R vid.

    GT-R=Twisties

    Z06=Straights

  • thank you compliment well taken,i just ordered a gtr for my brother and i will be getting a used 2006 or 2007 z06 for myself in the spring ,should be fun

  • Finally someone actually understands what a Gt-R is.. It was never built to go on a straight line.. even the Skylines (R32, R33, R34.. etc) they weren't built to go fast on a straight line.. but people usually for some odd reason don't understand that.. and they think that the faster the car can go on a straight line the "better" the car is..

  • Damn right what you say.

  • that's what people has mistaken it for. it's meant for a track, not the strait line. Put a stock vette and a stock gtr on a track and the outcome is a gtr. and it's funny what i found out so i'm just gonna mention it. jdm gtr have production versions putting out 520BHP as compared to the usjm 480hp. It's funny that vette has to compare to a 3.8 liter car, same price. about 700 lbs heavier, 4 seater awd. and barely beats the usdm version in a strait. and died against a jdm version.

  • ZR-1=both

  • Ding ding ding.....we have a winner, but people don't want to under stand that fact because they are die hard fan boys.

  • thats not completely true, think about it, a twin turbo 4000 lb awd car meant for curves and a sleek lightweight rwd with a light naturally aspirated engine meant only for straights?! the gt-r obviously handles very well, but im not sure it will dominate a z06 if you replace the run flats. in my view the gt-r is the best car you can get brand new for 70k but for a track id take a gt3 (which is already quicker through bends), vette, or viper build high downforce sticky rubber rwd easily quicker.

  • What about Mine's GT-R, or COBB Tuning GT-R. They're decent on the tracks.

  • the new mines is actually faster than the acr round willow springs mainly because its much more aerodynamic. however, the potential you get in the smaller rear wheel drive naturally aspirated purpose built sports car will exceed what you can get in the gt-r. no japanese car seems to go into 200 mph shit yourself exotic territory, and this is what will make the new nsx (claiming to be a db9 type) and lf-a so great. they both make exotic noises (f1 and whine) and feature highway dominance.

  • Well yeah there is that, but the GT-R was in my opinion not made for the highway.

  • thats the point! nissan sent a car around the ring faster than the least purpose built 911 ever made! the 911 turbo will still win on the highway (the bhp on the gt-rs seem to be going down near production time too). it will also be more comfortable, much more fun to drive, and youll actually get some badge.

  • who gies a stuff wat u think u yank piece of shit..coming from the land that cant make a fast car without using anything less than 6 litres..whats the point of having 10 inch cock without hard erection...now go murder someone cum face...now shut up before i give ya mum 8 rock hard inches of arab in her ass....comment that fuckless

  • ur post made me lol...dont hold back tell us what u really think! ahhaha

  • I think that the Japanese Tuners usually like to let the customers make their own modification and not max out the car from the factory, unlike american cars.

  • That can't be possibly further from the truth. Jap stock cars for years have been more or less maxed out from the factory on one thing. A turbo, that is if its' a turbocharged car. It it's N/A then it's the valves and pretty much the entire top end.

Japan works with less displacement because of their regulations, so they have to wring the piss out of what they have to get what they get.

Good example is a STI. The turbo is undersized to hell form factory. No power past 5 grand really.

  • Because of the undersized turbo, below that it makes good power, it just runs out of steam. Get a slightly bigger one, use the same boost, problem solved. But it looses a little top end.

Meanwhile your comment on US cars being maxed out... HAHAHAHAHA! Is that why a C6 Z06, with only a cam, can withstand a 250 shot of nitrous without even as much as a progressive controller so it slowly increases the fuel and nitrous and not just *BAM* bitch slapping it with the giggle juice?

  • And running like that for over 2 years now?

No since almost forever the US manufacturers have gone to task of making power with big engines that aren't being worked that hard.

Lets comapir the Z06 engine again. 500 Flywheel HP right? Do you honestly need titanium connecting rods for that? No. Why did they put them in there then? Cause its' LIGHT WEIGHT! Less strain on the internals. It can spin 6 grand all its' life and hold together fine. Yea all 100,000 miles worth, at 6 grand or faster O.o

  • Also Keep in mind the Motor the R35 has a shorter stroke in it. (Great for revs) But peaks out in power abtou the same place as the LS-7 powered Corvette Z06. So no reason really to spin them much faster than 6 grand.

The VQ here would def need a bigger pair of snails and fuel upgrades to get it more power. That's about 5 grand for turbos, and then another grand for it's fuel system. Since the stock injectors run a 80% duty cycle already.

Meanwhile A Zed just needs a tune, and a pair of heads

  • and a cam. Heads cost about 5 grand ready to rock with full hardware. A cam, ehh $500 toss it in and your good. Might wanna buy some headers too so thers' another $1400 USD. Still ahead of the game making power with the Corvette money wise.

Bottom line. Hope reading all this is a learning experience to you son. The GT-R is a monster, I'll give it that. And I'm sure if it ran me it'd be close. (That is till I get ahold of something more potent than my tired LS-1)

  • to bad a a vett can do is go in a straight line i would love to see the z06 on a road course with a R35.

  • moron that gtr r not stock ignorant

  • What's been done to this car?

  • machine, monster, BEAST!
