  • Western wins :D

  • Ive rode both disciplines, and yes I prefer English (even though I rode Western 4 times longer!)! But both are fantastic and it shouldnt be a battle! We all are here for the horses, love the horses and are passionate about riding! We will all have our own personal preference just as some people like cheese pizza and some like pepperoni! We are all different, all human beings! and those horses surely are not fighting over if they are an english or western horse!

  • I don't care if I am riding English or Western. I just care if I'm having fun with the horse I'm riding on. Horses understand me more then people do. They know when I'm happy or when I'm sad. They don't make fun of my dyslexia. They care for me. Thats all that matters. So please don't make rude comments to English or Western. Thanks. :)

Thanks, Google for helping me write this. :)

  • I'm Wenglish myself. :) my pony mare and I jump and ride English, but sometimes after a lesson, I'll drop my stirrups, sit back and we'll amble around neck reining for a while. :D

  • i think it's kinda dumb too. a lady at church made an ugly face when i told her my paint filly body type is thoroughbred. these quarterhorse people around here do that.

  • Western baby i just love being more free hehehehhee and the power of the horse running the barrels and cutting the cows etc etc its awesome :D

  • english rocks!!!!!!jumping,equitation,eventing:D

  • western all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love English so much, but Western is more free. Unfortunately, my horse only rides Western.... I hate Western though. Especially the heavy saddles xD

  • @CherubHorse I honesly feel the same way but opposite. I ride western and hate english. No offense Really. I hate fighting................UUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @TheCowgirlbarrelrace I see exactly what you mean...weird things.

  • i prefer English,i honestly hate Western..

  • @Novababy790 why?

  • @horseflanx i just never liked it,i love jumping/dressage and cross country.Western honestly bores me

Dont get me wrong,i respect anyone who rides a horse cuz it doesnt matter what style you ride, its just as dangerous

ive just never been into western

  • @Novababy790 me too;33

  • Why make videos that just make kids fight over this?

  • my horse- hes a world champion in hand and driving horse... i ride saddle and hunt seat. Ive touched in jumping, and i barrel race. i love it all. bottom line is the more you ride and the more you learn the better equestrian you become. yes, some horses excel in various style, and thats decision is between the horse and trainer, none is better than the other. Ride however you want, because you love riding.

  • @iPoplife Thank you!Good lord how people fight over nothing!!!

  • Western All The Way<3

  • Why does it matter? I school dressage 2x a week, and two or three times a month I like to go take a reining lessons to switch it up. English AND Western people can both be snobby no matter what barn or discipline you ride, first and for most YOU just gotta have fun in a safe and upbeat environment. Stereo types like the Dressage Queen or the Western Hick need to be put aside because we all love horses its what connects us in the first place!

  • Thumbs Up for english! :)

  • i just like horses.

Without a saddle, without metal in their mouth.

    Just me and the horse.

  • @AmazoneCowgirl Agreed

  • western is better because we see the true power of these amazing animals and not just look at them as some prancy high jumping horse

  • @horsegirlmosure That' not true. As far as i've seen you only care about running and spurring a horse in circles. I've yet to see a western rider not beat a horse in a circle

  • thumbs up for western :)

  • Why does it matter which is "better"? It depends which you were brought up with and you're more comfortable riding in. All disciplines have their pros and cons.

  • ive learned both....western is definitely the better

  • I thought I had a pasion for western but I realized that I love english and will mainley focus on it but gaming is pretty fun :)

  • I ride and love both styles, there's bad things about both (attitude and technique of individuals) but neither as a whole are one way, both teach horses amazing things and I think the best riders and best horses and do both.

  • English are stuck up western is not abusive to horses ethir

  • @NewHartfordLocals not all english people are stuck up and not all western people are abusive.

  • of course western

  • English for ever, cant stand the western lope

  • @Horseridder337 omg me to i rdie western and when i started it feels so funny but ive been riding for a while so i am used to it

  • english forever and western for never!!!!<3

  • Western forever and classic for never!!!!<3

  • English, but does it really matter? it just depends what you are brought up with and what you feel comfortable with plus what you want to strive for.

  • Very good point. Neither is better than the other, you might simply like one better than another. No use fighting over which is harder or whatever.

  • I used to ride english and I just preferred western more. So thumbs down for English and Thumbs up for Western :/

  • Why not try every style of riding to respect and enjoy all aspects of riding?

  • THUMBS UP FOR THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE!!!!!

  • western

  • Sorry I'd like to try western

  • I ride English and I love it but I'd like ton

  • THUMBS UP FOR WESTERN <3

  • i like both but i like western a little more

  • @StreetCorner100 I NO RIGHT ITS LAYED BACK AND IN JOY THE TIME NOT DO I LOOK GOOD

  • @laughterbuddies0 HAHAHAHAHA BARRELS IN AN ENGLISH SADDLE? thats cute. No you cant.

  • @StreetCorner100 Why not?

  • I have never rode english but i am dyeing to try just bc its horse back riding! i think anything horse is awsome!

  • I think that all disaplines are difficult in there own ways :) @StreetCorner100 What kind of engish do you do?

  • english is easy as taking a crap(: i do both. dont tell me i have no idea what im saying. I like western better. Its harder and more fun!

  • @StreetCorner100 i agree i did both and i think that western is harder, all english really do is jumping. western you have barrels, rodeos, and a bunch more.

  • I grew up with riding Western but just last year I got into English and now people tell me I'm better at EnglishI get 1st place or 2nd not so much Western I always get 3d.. HahaI feel better in English:) I love English!!! Haha:)

  • loved what you wrote at the end lol. cause I was looking at the photos of just 2 horses together and thought "now why is this in this vid" and my mind wandered to " kinda interesting to think that a dressage horse and a barrel horse wouldnt care what they did when they were ridden. its about how they act together in the pasture" ... I dont think us western riders and us english riders are acting very kindly to each other in the pasture so to speak..

  • What happened to the girl at 48 seconds? the horse was loping and some how she is launching forward. I ride english and westerm, had my share of spills with both, but prefer the laid back style of western, but put me in the show ring and i get amped up, barrels & reining baby!!!

  • Completely agree with the vid, I ride English, I've done jumpers, eventing and whatnot... I ride Western, pleasure, gymkhana stuff (I would love to work on barrel racing and pole bending.

Personally will usually ride bareback most times, but all 3 are spectacular. It's like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it... and when it's your horse, and you're putting in your heart and soul- no matter what you ride, it's the best.

  • ENGLIIIIISSSSHHHHHHHHH loping is so bad for your horses hips.

  • @herecomesgrace lol loping is simply a slower canter, nothing differant other then the speed :P

  • thumbs up for the love of horses, no matter which style you ride :P

  • @TheCrazyHorseLady I agree! People get so caught up in which style is better that they forget what we're all really here for-the horses!

  • @TheCrazyHorseLady Thumbs up a million times! :)

  • I like both!! Thumbs up if you agree!!!!

  • western all the way baby

  • ENGLISH

  • wow who thinks there the same :O yes thats right THE SAME !!! when they came out with western dressage i died laughing because they have been one in the same all along. i have been trained in both from poles, barrels, reining, hunter/jumper and dressage all the basics and ground work are the same !! if i stuck and english rider on a western horse bareback with bitless bridle and a western rider on an english horse with the same they d never know the difference

  • Both

  • Western Is the Best!! Huumbs up if you agree!!!

  • THUMBS UP FOR ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love horses

  • i do english but i both think there tough

  • Have you ever fallen 10 feet at 35km/ph brushed yourself off....

and got back in the saddle

Rode full speed, towards a solid obsticle

Jumped something, thats taller than you are

Performed an intricate dance, with a pertner that doesnt speak your own langauge

do that and tell me if english riding is for softys

  • BAREBACK / BRIDELESS :)

  • They are both so beautiful.

  • english !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what the song´s name?

  • I've tried both english and western and though I do agree english is harder I prefer western. I prefer going on a relaxing trail ride and being comfortable for long periods of time then riding around an arena jumping over things or doing dressage. But I think that my decision has to do with the fact that I have leg problems and I want to be safe when I'm riding so posting isn't an option with me.

  • @Vesvira jumping is really fun as well as barrels but i agree its nice to relax but also good to work :) thats my opinion and i think it doesnt matter what type of saddle im using as long as i can ride

  • I like that saying callme sorry I'm on iPhone and it not working the best and I love both

  • one good point about doing both is u have an a reason to meet some hot cowboys at rodeos

  • both are great if you can ride english u are elegent if u ride western or awsome is you do both u kick ass

  • english by a long shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • English all the way! In my eyes english is harder because you have to post, that takes agility and timing while in western you just sit there. point ha been proven, English is better. P.S. I'm not stubborn I'm right.

  • @twixedocat Um you don't just sit there in western riding..I ride both English and Western. Both require work. So don't say shit about western if you don't even know how to ride in a western saddle. Plus why do people even say english is better then western or western is better? BOTH have to do with riding, we all love our horses and share the same passion. Why does it even matter.

  • @twixedocat it takes agility and timing for barrels you have to keep your horse moving and you have to get the timing right and make sure you can control your horse. You don't just sit there do you know how much time it takes to train a horse to do barrels? a long time. English is also hard because 2 point for jumping and smooth transitions correct leads correct diagonals and dressage movements and training a horse to do that also takes a long time but dont EVER think that western is easy

  • ENGLISH!!!!!!

  • it honestly dosent matter...

they both take strength, power, agility, companionship, friendship, and teamwork,so no matter what you choose your allways cowgirl tough. :)

  • Westt\ern All The Way Baby!!!

  • I ride both! <3 Mostly western though because I barrel race. Here's what I think: they both take skill, hard work, training, etc. And that people shouldn't argue over what is better because that battle will never end AND ANYWAYS, all that should matter is that WE LOVE HORSES. ;)

  • the pointwas for us to not fight over better. I ride AND compete both styles and for english riders saying western doesn't care about proper you need to watch pleasure classes.AND the right way to barrel race is centered in the middle of the saddle w/ your weight off the horses back oh ya alot like jumping isn't it. I've been competing for six years in eng. and west. my barrel horse hates jumping and my jumper hates barrel racin the horeses love thir own specific jobs

  • @1horserider3 i agree alot of english riders think all you do is sit ther but theres alot more to it. I ride english but i think that both take alot of practice

  • English and Western are both good but the best thing every is Morgan Horses!

  • English !!! all the way you CANT jump western at least not PROPERLY.

  • @AmyLuvsHorses1 Yeah you can jump western and what western rider cares if when they jump they look "proper"????

  • @truecowgirl101 It's not necessarily about the look. The back of a western saddle slaps down on the horse's back whereas and english saddle doesn't. It can damage your horse's back.

  • @iRiD3PONi3S Some Barrel saddles don't.And not all western saddles are heavy.

  • @quarterhorselover100 Many western saddles are, however. Additionally, the saddle horn can be a danger to the rider in the case of refusals. I prefer jumping bareback to anything else, though. If you fall, there's neither a stirrup to drag you under your horse nor a horn to impale yourself on.

  • @AmyLuvsHorses1

Yeah yah can I've done it befor.

  • YEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!WESTERN GIRL ALL THE WAY!!!!

  • Thumbs up for English :)

  • Western all the way baby!!! I do both but the only english thing i really like in english is jumping!!

  • YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAA WESTERN!!!! THUMBS UP PEEPS!!!!!!

  • more horses (show by scientists and horse experts) enjoy jumping better

  • Aussie, FTW. Kthx.

  • I'm goin' with western. I just hate the little saddle and the spandex pants and to ME its horrifying. What do YOU think. thumbs up for western!!!

  • Lol the cowboy hats are hott, the cowboy's hotter, but English will always be my love, less saddle to go faster, have the horse feel more, and my favorite JUMP! The pants aren't spandex and are waaaay less hot then chaps and jeans.... although the knee high boots are hot. :P love 'em both love English better!!

  • @SillyHorseySarah i agree

  • why does it matter just think, in a English saddle your not going to go run barrels. and in a western saddle your not going to go jump 5 foot jump thats why i love both,

  • THUMBS UP FOR ENGLISH!!!!! <3 :D

  • THUMBS UP FOR ENGLISH!

  • I luv both but I like western more I just grew up as a tx cowgirl but show jumping is a blast!all horse ppl should -3 each other and not fight over what type you ride we all love riding period end of story

  • you are right, why fighting?? it's all like fight between dressage and racing! I ride both and I treasure both:) good vid:)

  • @Falka89 yeah why fight becuase all i know is that riders are the srongest most spirit loving people ive ever meet and that will never ever change . not in a million years nope .. horses rock

  • @horseluvers1000 yeah, horses rules:)

  • western rules definiatly!!!! thumbs up if u aggreeeeee

  • i Think putting these videos up about which is better there just as good as each other its stupid western is fun but so can english everyone has there thoughts but really there both fun and the hole fight on youtube on which is better is point less i mean i ride english but i like western to so really this hole which is better is stupid just saying so no one take it the wrong way :)

  • Comment removed

  • Western is harder in my opinion, but english is definetly not easy...

  • dressage looks like it hurts for the horse

thats why western is better ;)

  • @abcgirl1251 western is better in my opinion, but dressage dosent "hurt" them, but it is uncomfortable for them...

  • @laughterbuddies0 You are so right about this

  • Why does one have to be superior to another? I ride both, and I like both. My horse likes both. I just don't get this little "war" going on between diciplines.

  • Western :))

  • WE ALL LOVE HORSES btw its true a western horse and english horse wouldnt fight its not like one is killing a horse and one is saving it both are fun and amazing

  • Western!! :) <333

  • ENGLISH ;)

  • i think it really depends on your horse I like them both because they have differences that make the same. for example Western : Speed English Jumping so they are both equal in their own way.

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU THINK WESTERN IS BEST

  • @GVLUloveJDB

I LIe English beacuz I ride English but If I rode westernI would ike Western Ya Know

  • English fits my style more, and I like it better...sooo...ENGLISH!

  • i rid western and prefer it but damn peapole stop fighting i remember when i used to do this just get over yalls selfs and ride your horses isntthat what its all about its not about being the best rider its about being the best friend to your life long friend

  • It is so sad that people bash other peoples style of riding.

if you love riding you love riding. no matter what.

both styles are fun, both are challenging.

have a little respect for others.

  • Horses are beautiful

    English riders make them ugly

Thats all there is to it

  • @ArabQh123 horses are beautiful no matter what.

    unlike that attitude.

i ride both on my horse.

does that make my horse beautiful and ugly?

  • @kegemo16 k, well I take it back. A friend of mine convinced me otherwise about Western and we both agree on a lot of things. So yeah there is action but you dont have to be a jerk just to prove a point. And English is hard work too. So dont get all mad just because of something said in the past.

  • @kegemo16 ???? what are you talking about? Im not a stuck up prep and yeah barrel racing is action..... so I dont get what your problem is

  • i love both! just be happy you are riding a horse!!! thats the main point of riding it doesn't matter what saddle you are in!!! just get on and ride! and stop talking shit about english or wester they are both great!!!

  • western i like better because you have more action!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Mojichickenrocks Get the fuck off these videos, insecure cunt. If you were actually confident in what you do you wouldn't obsessively prove your "points" on every video. And yes, english is preppy as fuck. been there. "Deal with it."

  • Comment removed

  • it doesn't matter wich you chose.... or both like i do

it is all about the horses and how we ride with them not about the type

  • as long as you love the horse and whatever you are doing then it doesn't matter what you ride :)

  • Here isn´t different everythere are positives and negatives. Main thing is, that our horse will be happy with you with enthusiasm for work and all contacts with people..

  • 0:45s ... looks like SUPERMAN :D

  • both there is no point in fighting over it people are alowed to have there own opinions. to me its about connecting with my horse, and having fun, and being in the saddle and not in the dirt haha

  • @kegemo16 yea most definitly i have been rideing western since i was a little girl and i know english people but western is definitly better <333333

  • Both

  • Western is better to me because english seems kinda boring... and western is more crazier.. english seems sorta preppy and western is more wild haha!

  • WESTERN

  • I rode english for 4years :D it was fun, but western is more natural more fun I think it is better than english...... :D

  • I ride english but I rode werstern once it was such fun!!! its was sooo cool and felt really freee

but there arent any western riding schools were I live so I ride english which I also LOVE

if I ever do buy a horse I may try to get on that does both or westen :P

  • Wow, KMStablesGirl is kinda of right. It's almost turning into an issue like racism! Look at yourselves arguing back and forth! Both English and Western take alot of time and effort to become good at, but really, there's a central thing here... the HORSE! If there were no horses, there wouldn't be different disciplines. It really doesn't matter the way that you ride, as long as you and the horse are safe, healthy and happy. =)

  • i love both

  • Well it sort of depends on what peeps think. In my opinion Westurn is harder than english, but im not saying english is any easier.

  • @GreyWolfie7 are you asking for an argument?

  • onestly,i dont get why people fight about this.an english saddle is a peace of leather and a western saddle is a peace of leather with a horn!one difference.

    SO WHAT!

  • It all depends on the horse. I did my first western speed on yankee, both of our first times and we beat some western people. It was easy and fun! He was a natural though.Flare thinks barrels are for jumping and poles should have jumps in between them. But he can kick some serious butt in eventing, jumpers and hunters. My friends horse is amazing at speed. Even I won on him, but try to take through a jump course and it will be the ugliest one you have ever seen

  • i agree none is really better there just styles!!! western is diffrent then english people should stope like spiderrules96 u should band her..... but good video!

  • What are we going to have another Civil War? Western on one side English on another. Western with Pitch Forks English with Swords. And our beautiful horses getting killed on accident because we would be riding them to fight.

  • English is better. It always has been.No matter what western chicks say English girls will always have more skill, more patients, and better looks.

Western is distrusting, sometimes they even strap MONKEYS to ponies saddles,,,,ITS horrible. There so lazy as well

  • @SpiderRules96 WOAH! your completely wrong here neither are lazy!!! i love english but i ride western all the time!!!

  • @SpiderRules96 You have a smart ass mouth your running. Western and English. who cares. if your a real horseman then you won't care about whats better. All you would care about is the horses. thats all i care about. I ride western and have no intention to ride English because it's not my style. So why don't you just keep you comments to your self if it's not nice.

  • @HopalongBarrelRacer haha go rope a calf !

  • @SpiderRules96 I don't have a calf. At least if i rope a calf it ain't going to hurt my horse like you jumping your horse and it doesn't jump and runs into the poles.

  • @HopalongBarrelRacer

Well go get a calf so you can chase it and think its fun,

and im pretty sure western riders are the ones that are gonna be running into poles coz us are so stupid you think its fun to run in and out of them. Get some real BALANCE and Skill ohh oops you cant coz u ride western.

Bwt: Jumping doesn't hurt my horses legs because I actually CARE about how our horse feels.

  • @SpiderRules96 um fuck off, western you have to have tallent, id like to see u up on a jam up barrel horse and pole horse and stay on little one!, ur immature there both hard in ther own way. get a life frikin city slicker!!
