@DerEchteBold it is good enough quality mate - to be honest it depends more on your computer system & sound card. These delays are made to sound Lo-Fi so I really don't think it's a problem.....
Why is everybody so concerned with self oscillation? It's greasy kid stuff...totally for wankers. lol ..but seriously which small footprint Analog Delay pedal has the most transparent dry signal (with the mix rolled counter clockwise.)?
the malekko looks and sounds cool... but the mxr has got such a warm tone!! it's my next delay, I can't wait for it to be in stock again at the guitar shop!!
I'm using the CC with this setup: American Std Strat + Dimarzio Chopper -> Tonebone Classic -> Coarbon Copy -> Hotrod Deville. The CC delivers the coolest, warmest delays I've ever heard. I'm sure the other two are great, but I'm stuck on the CC (which actually sounds great running into my Nova Delay for multi tap meyhem).
For the price/quality I have to admit that the MXR should win but if we talk about pure sound quality and features the Malekko owns (expression pedal input, mode switch, non stop feedback after bypassed...).
the Mimic sound very clear and bright, the Malekko sound very dark, the MXR sounded like the most balanced of the bunch. The MXR seemed to sound the best of the three on the high repeats setting. The Mimic sounded like it had very "clickly " oscillation, the Malekko sounded muddy, and the MXR sounded like it decayed most naturally.
What are you listening back on? These sound pretty radically different on my speakers -- just some inexpensive Cambridge Soundworks satellites and a sub.
Most likely your speakers. I have a decent set of studio monitors and I still can have the same problem as you. The internet is certainly not ideal for accurate gear tests!
I like the bottom end the carbon copy gets. Before this demo I did not know what analog delays sound like. Thank you so much for making such good demos and helping me out.
Great Demo... the two dislikes must be football jocks...

Was the Malekko on buffered or TB?

Way Huge Aqua Puss should of been included in this delay comparison as it is also less than $200.

The Malekko 300 Dark actually sounds almost as warm as the CC.
It doesn't matter to me, though. I want both, anyway. :D

i have the mxr but the malekko wins not on the quality of the delay tone, but the quality of the original sound is just bigger and fuller.

This is a great demo - all delay demos should be set up like this.

They really sound so similar that it wouldn't matter to me which one I had...I'd take any of them as they're all great sounding analog delays.

how does the Mimick sound with GAIN ? for solo type stuff ?
what does everyone think about the MIMICK vs. the MIMICK MOCK 2 ??
sparrow1133 3 years ago
honestly, i wish a tap tempo would be standard for any delay pedal, but these all sound great.
