I did like your video until you spit it at me. =.=*
no jk. Are there any areas of Japan that tourists shouldn't go? I would like to go see all the little farms and mountains but I've heard that smaller towns are alot less welcoming than big metros. Would you agree with that?
@takeusaway3 Thanks much! I really want this series to be a good mix of entertainment and education. I really wasn't prepared for a lot of things when I first got to Japan and I want to help people that may experience the same problems.
Have you noticed the complete lack of a "return policy" in Japan? One time I had a clerk think I was crazy to even ask it. After much pleading, she pulled out her Hello Kitty notepad and attempted to complete the return... which she couldn't figure out how to do anyways. I was just like O_O "can't you just swipe my card...?!?" Lol!
@emiiidesu Hahaha, that was a hysterical comment! Sadly, I never experienced trying to return something. It's really odd how Japan handles purchases, seems so old-school.
LOL great video!! I really needed a laugh right now and you delivered :) Thanks
I still remember the first time I went to seven eleven and tried to pay by card (the cashier looked at me like I was crazy)
Not sure why your card wouldn't work at 7/11, mine did
and I think food would be a great topic for the next video (I saw a comment about good food other than fish available in Japan) you could include Yakiniku, taiyaki, kaiten sushi, shabu shabu, okonomiyaki and a ton of other stuff
@jakesinjapan Im doing fine... my area was scheduled for 3 blackouts in the past two days and train service is really limited so I havent left my apartment much lately. Food is hard to find too since everyone is stocking up. Everyone is worried about the radiation from the power plants, but it hasn't reached my area.
A friend of mine was at Sophia yesterday and he told me that the entire campus was closed for the day. I am going in today. I hear that there is a huge crack on the wall of bld 2
Things in downtown Tokyo have all but returned to normal, it is just taking a bit longer for my are since I am in the suburbs (but hopefully by next week)
Great video! I love everything you put together. :) For Thai students in Japan we always think this way: 100 yen = 35 baht! haha strange right? And i also noticed that Japanese people don't really use credit card. The way they spend money is different from that of in the US.
@ploysr08 100 to 35??? that is a pain... Yeah, it was a real surprise when i found that using credit cards were not commonplace in Japan. Hope your having fun in Europe!
LoL . Your dad's cameo cracked me up. Nice one. Interesting breakdown of the banks and credit cards. Unlike here in north america where credit & debit reigns supreme & cash is becoming less commonplace.
PS. Did you have to return the robot for one that works?
@xoJirachi Thanks for the concern. I'm in the states at the moment, but my day was spent trying to contact everyone in Japan. Turns out everyone that I know and their families are safe. Thank god for Twitter.
Part-time jobs for sure! And how much you get paid, stuff like that ^^ More like, what kinds of part time jobs are available for foreigners.
Thanks for the vid! All my Japanese friends mostly use only cash, but it's never occured to me that it's because credit cards are not accepted everywhere xD
@sheldyk As in like living on the streets? I actually took a NPO class in Japan with a teacher who lived with the homeless for a year. I may actually be able to scrape enough info for a video on that.
Great videos man! How about something on Part time jobs?
