Well, even the term "feminism" is bias because it only represents one gender. A better term for someone who truly wants equality between the sexes would be an "equalist". Regardless, if I called myself a man-ist I bet many people would vilify me and see me as a supremacist crack job. Yet why does the similar term of "feminist" get a free get out of jail pass?
feminists ARE lesbians, I am gay and I can tell you that, when I was in my 20s, in the 1990s, all my lesbians friends were feminists and to be honest they were very hostile and anti-male. They hated men so much that in the end I didn't want to see them again. Look at all the statisics feminist used to use to expose patriarchal inequality....college admissions, etc. Young women are now admited to college at a higher rate than young men, graduate high school at a higher rate than young men, and on average are paid more than young men and have more social and economic support than young men. There is a gender bias in this country but it is NOT in favor of men.

When convicted they are half as likely to do prison time and when they are sentenced to prison they do less than half the time. If you are charged with a felony in America the best indicator of whether you will be convicted and sentenced to prison is not race or income: It's gender. Men are not demonized in the media as much as women. They are not objectified as sexual objects and valued because of it. They are not bound to two stereotypes, the sex object or the nagging wife and mother. Men have a broad range of portrayals in the media that are not tied to their worth given to them by women. The difference being, men had to sacrifice their lives for democracy. Woman were handed it on a platter. No one shot at women. No woman was hung for treason because she wanted the right to vote. Please check your history. Democracy has only existed for 2 centuries. Before that we were governed by the ruling class. They consisted of both men and women. Read your history. Read it carefully.

During the 1800's the almost all school teachers and nurses were women. In england married women could own property. It is also important to note that a women (Queen Victoria) was the longest reigning monarch of the largest empire in world (the British Commonwealth). 2000s years of "women hating" is dramatic to say the least.

Look at all the statisics feminist used to use to expose patriarchal inequality....college admissions, etc. Young women are now admited to college at a higher rate than young men, graduate high school at a higher rate than young men, and on average are paid more than young men and have more social and economic support than young men. There is a gender bias in this country but it is NOT in favor of men.

When convicted they are half as likely to do prison time and when they are sentenced to prison they do less than half the time. If you are charged with a felony in America the best indicator of whether you will be convicted and sentenced to prison is not race or income: It's gender. I only hope that feminists will see this in consideration and not block or get defensive. It WAS a rather aggressive talk, I'm not gonna lie. But at the same time, feminists need to ask themselves, "why do men feel this way about feminism" and work to amend these issues that are so often brought up. That way it can head in a better direction. One such amendment is to change the name of the movement. If it's about equality, why is it called "feminism"?

They are not bound to two stereotypes, the sex object or the nagging wife and mother. Men have a broad range of portrayals in the media that are not tied to their worth given to them by women. Entire nations form under these beliefs that create a climate that would be hard for women to think of themselves as equals if at birth they are told they aren't. In England in the mid 19th century a group of working class men organized rallies and presented signed petitions to the house of commons for the working class man`s right to vote. They were met wit tough resistance and were arrested en mass and sentenced to hang for treason. During the 1800's the almost all school teachers and nurses were women. In england married women could own property. It is also important to note that a women (Queen Victoria) was the longest reigning monarch of the largest empire in world (the British Commonwealth). 2000s years of "women hating" is dramatic to say the least.

You said that changing oil in a car and mowing the lawn is considered housework (and thus lumped in with work women do in the home), but there are women who mow the lawn, and most people pay to have oil changes, so it doesn't really fly. Also, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry and caring for children and pets are all part of daily work at home whereas cutting the grass happens weekly at the most and changing oil happens once every few months ... no comparison dumba**
