I felt electrified on multiple occassions while listening to this one. Perhaps it couldn't be a mistake to say that these 2 sisters have a comprehensive integration of passion, divinity, technicality, control over raaga-shruthi, blessed straight by Godess Sangeeta Saraswathi. I probably have not heard of another singer with such a degree of effortlessness and flawless flow. Long live carnatic music!
I hasten to add that I will not hesitate to admit that R&G are indeed as gifted as PriyaSisters Such a marvellous voice and they sing Tamil songs with such passion and dedication with full understanding of the verses Being a Tamil myself I fully appreciate their music But when they sing together the blending is not as smooth as it naturally occurs for Priya Sisters This does not anyway take away the glory of R&G . I tender my sincere apologies for my inintended comments ..I am also a fan of R&G
These two sisters are the best as far as rendering of virutham is concerned. No doubt tears are rolling out from my eyes as I listen to their viruttams.I wish they should release a CD containing lines from thevarams, thiruvasagam & kandar alankaram etc and I assure such a CD will be sold as hot cake!
" 2 years have passed and i am delighted i commented this. it appears on grand father was a recongised othuvar more than 70 years ago. So long as these singers continue the real tradition fo singing like pro i ude to hear in you yonger days and ifg they have schools to develop the similar talent tol future generation, they have done their part to the hindus and hinduism.
As an othuvar in the temple i worship, i was asked to sing as usual- i did-namarkum kudiallom and vethanari thalaiththonga.
It appears from biographical records, my great grandfather was a student of Arumuganavalar and was also a teacher of tamil and hinduism at his school near nalur, jaffna, his eldest son,my late grand father was an expert singer at Thirukethesewaram temple in mannar during british colonial times and was named Purana vitthakar by late Sir kandiah vaithyanathan.
@nimnit Unfair to compare two gifted talented tamils and non-tamils who can sing tamil songs unlike these tamil singers with such passion bringing manickawasakar swamigal alive.
What a wonderful voice- a tonic to the ears.I used to sing all kinds of thevarams, thiruvasakam and so on in temple.I have take 2 minutes to sing at least 5 songs from thevaram , thiruvasagam , puranam to valthukkal .But this one-kathalaki kasintu kannermalki has taken 2 minutes and 45 seconds. What a devotional performance of singing which would have moved earth close to Lord siva's feet.God bless both.

(The dancing God of Lord Nataraja of Chidambaram-Ambalathan)
(Who bestowed His benevolence on the Bakthas who sought it)
(With running hand & songs in my tongue)
(I have come at your feet in search of refuge)

(With love and tears welling)
( tears overflowing & welling )
(Persons singing the hymn shall attain the moksha)
(Realising the truth of the four vedas)
(Only the name of Namasivayam)

Although their combined voices sound beautiful, it's Gayatri who seems to have the more fluid and brigha-filled voice.

Absolutely divine. What a voice. They are the best now. In fact they are the best in Karnatic music so far.
