    DirectX-11 vs UDK DirectX-9

  • i heard that the card that are now out are the first generation and that the next will be a lot more powerfull ati said that they would make there teselation better like 4 times (probably 2times) so it will reach further now it is only tessellated when you are close enuogh i really can't wait till we get even stronger pcs

  • serch for parallax occlusion maps better tehnology

  • thats parallax mapping dang, this is actual geomentry

  • Dx10 make Textures look 3d, but from the side they are flat.

    DX11 makes Textures 3d so you see stones for example from the side.

  • Perfect example of the DX10 is in STALKER, look at the brick walls ;)

  • STALKER Clear sky has some of one of my favorites when it comes to DX10 use.

  • @dangi12012 so is this like a three dimensional bump mapping?

  • mipmaping = lod for textures.. for u fags.. blender3d ftw dont talk shit

  • I don't understand why everyone is accepting this as something revolutionary. Tesselation is a process of subdivision and triangulation of polygons, and videocards does this already for ages. At least in OpenGL, there's a tesselator object which basically does subdivision of polygons.

  • But not at the same degree, this does it to the extreme..

  • looking awesome dude

  • Tesselation tesselation- Tesselation is in DX10 too DX11 IS TWEAKED DX10 xD

  • That's why it's called DX11 and didn't get a new name... ;)

  • in a way....tesselation is in pretty much every game out there, it's called level of detail hehe, when you get closer to something, it will look more detailed, i don't know what is the difference between tesselation and LoD, if someone can explain me i'll be thankfull

  • @ riveraluciano

    Level of detail is processed in software where as tessellation is processed in hardware improving performance and quality. Well that what I get from a lot of people.

  • thanks for the answer :)

  • as far as i know

    LOD = is for Textures only

    Tesselation = for Polygons only

  • @DasJev

    Mip Mapping = detail of textures

    Tesselation = complexity of polygons

    LOD is not a specific technology, it is more a concept. Near objects get a high level of detail, farther objects get a lower level of detail. You can use Mip Mapping and Tesselation to implement LOD.

  • DX10 doesnt have tesselation, if those cards did, Unigine would work on them with Tesselation on, but you know whaT? They dont.

  • Read about Dx10 or tesselation on ati 2xxx

    It was in 2008- DX11?? No DX10

  • DX10 doesnt have REAL tesselation, there are different types of it, if there was then they'd be using it, they got reasons not to.

  • @mupp33n

    Real tesselation- Hahaha you are funny

    Tesselation is some complicated mip-mapping, just mip-mapping with trinagles. Trinagles needs more power, so microsoft made DX11, and Ati made hd5xxx for Microsoft xD

  • Ati didnt developt the 5x series for Microsoft. Why would they? They arent gettin paid by MS.

    Triangles = more detail.

    No triangles = Cod4.

  • wait so i don't get it......tessellation is used in actual games??? really smooth models??? smooth everything???

  • o shit FPS too high :DDDDD

  • anyone else tried the unigine DX11 tesselation tech demo? doesn't it feel like oblivion in the way you move around? I hope they use this for elder scrolls V :3

    if not, elder scrolls VI because they're already developing TES V :P

  • yup, 5 confirmed DX11 games and 3 of them are going to be out by the end of the year with one already out, things are looking good for DX11. around 8 rumored games that will support DX11 as well (later in 2010 tho). can't wait XD

  • I knew this game will support dx 11 thats already 5 games at least that will support dx 11 tell Nvidia to stop talking shi and bring out Ferni

  • lol they suck anyways

  • lol

  • lol wat they do

  • It looks really impressive how the tesselation changes in realtime.

  • @MartianJonn raytracing in realtime would be cool =)

  • Thank you for showing us this.
