MJ rises up from his grave and dancing!

  • I didn't understand a word, but he made a good job. Blofeld sounds exellent :)

  • Mr Ujiie... Everybody loves you.

  • dam! if only it wasn't digital. :P

  • @doom705 That's a bad thing? Wavetable synths revel in being digital. :G

  • @TheShledge no i wish the filters were analog.

  • @doom705 Can feed it through any analogue synth with an audio input, if you want that. Personally I find the filters on the blofeld to be brilliant, despite owning a few analogues.

  • @doom705 it sounds good though dude, sometime you want that digital sound

  • I bought Waldorf some time ago, it's so powerful that I can't handle it properly yet :D It's amazing synthesizer, maybe now I will be able to make some simple BGMs to my projects ^_^

The movie itself is done with attention and preparation to show best things about Waldorf, I like it ^_^

  • Waldorf makes outstanding synthesizers. Respect.

  • German products are great.

  • this guy really does the Waldorf justice!

  • Love it, now i need some money :P

  • This is a good demo, but on many sound this synh does have something in the high medium that i don't like.

  • Hi, im am strongly conicdering a blofeld since i can get it at 200, but my only concern is it programabillity.... Can u only edit presets or can u idit the preset and programm a sound from scratch? ( adding oscs, runnin it through a filter, assinging filter enveleopes etc) The auction is running out soon, so please, if anyone could enlighten me, please do :)

  • The blofeld has a very unique GUI the screen detail on the parameters of the filters, lfos, modulator matrix and oscillators helps a lot. The large screen is very usable but takes some time to fully exploit the depth of the feature on it. its a good balance between sound flexibility, programing, hands on control, and build quality (all metal).

  • Fantastic and beauty melodies, harmonies ... What are you playing in this video?

  • Japoneis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • guys and gals, you will notice that nearly all digital synth demos are washed in reverb. That is why they sometimes sound good and organic, it gives a sense of placement. Digital fails without reverb, it sounds thin, cold and sterile (these number crunching machines are for technicians not musicians)

  • @cprostudio you obviously never heard the blofeld.

  • @Xend54 lol, i owned a blofeld, otherwise i would have never made this comment. I think you should watch how you use the word "obviously" it makes you sound ill educated and arrogant. Maybe you havnt used a real analog? Why dont you make a video of the blofeld without any reverb on and post it on youtube and show the world how great it really sounds lol.

  • @cprostudio im not hating on analog... i actually own a arp2600. digital has a different (not worse) sound. im not trying to stay in the past. and the blofeld sounds good without reverb :)

  • @cprostudio Because you sound like an arrogant prick: "number crunching machines" i think you will find that nobody will give your comment any serious thought and consideration. I enjoy digital with or with out reverb, just because you think it sounds bad without effects it doesn't mean they actually do since it's only your opinion.

  • @QuantikMusic fact - they all are number crunching machines, so fuck you you stupid ill-educated cunt. And calling me arrogant after you say NOBODY will give my comment any serious thought or consideration, what you have said here is by any means extremely arrogant and based on your own IMAGINATION and ASSUMPTION. I obviously upset you, now go and play with you toys in your logic mind-state and spend a fortune on pro mixing and mastering gear to get your digital synths to sound warm and fat

  • @cprostudio Wow you mad bro?? You really mad? CALM DOWN. You completely missed my point didn't you, i'm not about to have a discussion with you relating to the pro's and con's of analogue vs digital, I was making a statement about your biased and overly opinionated comment. I will explain it more simply. Your statement on digital synthesis is SUBJECTIVE, 'cold' and 'sterile' are SUBJECTIVE terms in the way you have used them.

  • @QuantikMusic Now i wouldn't really care about that except for the fact that newbies to synthesis could end up reading your comment. There is the chance that they could read your comment and assume that digital synthesis should be avoided because of the bad light you cast it in. If i where new to synthesis and read that i would soon start doubting if digital synthesis was a viable and good option. You are way to biased and way to quick to anger man so take a chill pill.

  • @cprostudio

"spend a fortune on pro mixing and mastering gear to get your digital synths to sound warm and fat"

I know how to make digital synths sound warm and fat. It's called being a musician. You should try it too.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer lets hear your music then

  • @cprostudio

    "lets hear your music then"

    No.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer not that I complete disagree with you, but being able to make your synth sound fat has nothing to do with being a musician. at all. Actually most musicians don't know jack about synth programming.

  • @OnlyOmari

"being able to make your synth sound fat has nothing to do with being a musician."

You're right. I'm not a musician. I just love making screechy noises.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer oh ok lol. Me too. I'm aspiring musician though. Learning.

  • I like this guy's spirit.

  • I think this would be perfect for synth in a metal band. I need a board that has exception synth sounds so I don't really want a motif, but it's nice you can bring up a piano for an intro or something. You don't really need amazing pianos in metal anyways with all the processing and distortion already taking place.

  • KEYBOARDoh!

  • I will avoid german here too ;) It is not that I bought the lovely Blofeld to mimic some piano. I think I will purchase the optional pack to be free to play with my black Waldorf Blofeld keyboard to be simply free to just connect it with a headphone. My Waldi is connected with my computer and so on. I just don't want to let play the computer the master role in the end, Blofeld is so mighty! It is amazing hardware and it has to be the champion of any song. ;)

  • Hi! How do I get those samples? I would like to play a bit piano, too! I did not find a piona... I am absolute beginner, sorry, thanks!

  • Samples are a part of the blofeld keyboard version and the SL upgrade to the small version.

there is no REAL piano, though, but you can (in normal voice dial mode) choose the category "keys" and scroll through the key sounds. There are some really nice e-pianos in there. Don't forget to turn category off afterwards :)

No piano because... it's a Waldorf Synth! No Piano and brass and strings for tea dance musicians ;) And it's one of the best synths I ever had. Love it, it will love you back! :)

  • @Barelinio

Hey, I found out meanwhile that an SL upgrade is needed. Thanks - and believe me, it's not for tea dance music :D So I learned my lesson about japanese humour! :D I already love my Waldi! It's just because I like to learn Piaono, too, and I love some more or less authentic sound. Have fun!

  • @GreifDich

I never meant to imply you were a Tanzmusikant :) (sorry to all non-german speakers)

About the piano: If you want a good piano sound, the sample option is not for you, it's great for experimental sounds, less for recreating real instruments. Better hook your Blofeld up your PC and start a software piano. Like CVPiano from Tascam. It's free, just search for it. Have fun! :)

  • Do you know how I can create a new category to store sounds in ? It's not in the manual -_-

  • brutal gut! ich habe die nächsten Tage ein Blofeld, aber das krieg ich wohl nie hin... cool, thanks for the demonsration!

  • MARIMBA!

  • Great demo, not many demos in youtube show the samples.

  • chinchangche

  • TRUE BEUTY!!!!

  • Is this basically a desktop blofeld with a keyboard attached?

  • @culturaleyes

Basically, yes, and with activated 60 MB of flash ROM samples, so you don't need to purchase Licence SL as you have to do with desktop Blofeld.

  • By far the best Blofeld video on Youtube. Thank you!

  • Hello Ujiie-san,

the magnificent choir sample at 4:55 is one of those who won't be available on the desktop blofeld without having upgraded it to read samples as well, right?

  • @nairobibeats

    Correct!

  • I have this synther - it's great.

5:07 nay-flute sample is superb and definitely my fav from over thousand sounds.

  • Will these patches sound just as good one they're translated into english?????

  • how many keyboards do you own?

  • 7:18 and 7:37 really nice sounds!!!!!!! love it!

  • the knobs look so nice

  • p-shhi-m samprin ^_^

  • great wavetable sounds :D

  • Great demo!

    Thanks

  • has to be said... blofeld's patches are hopeless... but the stuff you can do with sound. and at that price!

  • whats that white thing to the left of the keyboard?

  • Sound @ 2:05 is great!

  • why do the japanese have exceptional funk in their fingers??

  • @trisky1234 can you recall any genuine funk track from he japanese as the ones of herbie hancock, stevie wonder, streets of san francisco style?

  • @marcinha1973 I wasn't talking about originality, I was talking about technique..

  • @trisky1234

    small bones :)

  • @trisky1234 Because they all started on 1970's Electones!

  • @trisky1234 sake

  • @trisky1234 My thoughts exactly.

  • @trisky1234 you dont even know about indonesians..

  • @trisky1234 Cause the are Smart '' Duh LOL

  • 2:39 in we have the start to beat it from Michael Jackson!

  • @cresshead Yeah! That so is!

  • I think he's right!

  • great synth! great review!

  • I'm sure this guy has reviewed the desktop version in another Youtube vid and he does really good reviews.

  • sounds like ulrich schnauss at the begining. Almost exactly the same as one of his songs.

  • great vid!

Do any one know the size of this thing? I been searching like over the hole web.

  • 736 x 282 x105 mm. From my Future Music mag. :)

  • I like the "Thriller" sounding sound. Thanks man! You are a beast!

  • @surrounded You mean Beat It sound ;-)

  • im glad i decided not to get this it sounds very thin

    thanks

  • @kokeklasick

Dude, go check it yourself. You cannot judge the "fatness" of a synth on a youtube video.

  • @YuzoTibi ih yes at least I can. fat synths sound fat in bad quality too. I've experienced that all modern synths lack physical punch because their sound is adjusted to be clear over all.

  • @Jauly fat is a buzz word it means nothing and most synths can punch out fat sounds these days. Digital VAs are so versatile that they can produce most sounds you are capable of thinking of.

  • @kokeklasick I don't think it's thinner than any digital synth, fatter then lots althoguh you may not perceive it in this video
