  • this was hands down, the best year for the Wings. this is the closest they ever came to achieving the same success the Beatles had

  • i CAME ALONG TO LOVE WINGS BEFORE I LOVED THE BEATLES! BORN 1966! WINGS FOR LIFE! McCARTNEY HAS NO EQUAL!

  • i Love Paul to death. HIs latest live performances are a bit generic tho.

    This is the passionate paul

  • In the 1990s I rescued a dog. When I arrived at the animal shelter, I was shown to a cage containing a desperate, matted dog. I couldn't tell what breed because of the matting, and my heart went out to this poor animal. As soon as I laid eyes on her, this song, Jet, ran through my mind and would not give up.

I named her Jet and took her home and she was my best friend for over 10 years. I still don't think of my partner without this song popping into my mind!

  • ...buena cancion...

  • Paul McCartney is,without a doubt the greatest singer, songwriter and musician. One of the last legends in music.

  • Denny Laine plays a weird guitar?

  • This give me chills...damn!

  • I think the playing on this clip is better than the original recording, which sounds a little dull. The horns really spice it up. At the risk of understatement, McCartney really was a very good performer.

  • Killer horns

  • Beautiful

  • On this date in 1974 {Feb. 9th} "Jet" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it would peak at No. 7 and spent a total of 14 weeks in the Top 100...

The record was the 5th in a string of 8 straight records by Mr. McCartney to make Billboard's Top 10; started with "Hi, Hi, Hi" {#10}, "My Love" {#1}, "Live & Let Die" {#2}, "Helen Wheels {#10}, then this record, "Band On The Run " {#1}, "Junior's Farm {#3}, and finally "Listen To What The Man Said" {#1}...

  • Paul seemed a lot happier now that he had the creativity control...why couldn't the Beatles have been this way?

  • they're only the band the beatles could have been

  • Feels kinda weird without the Hofner, but still a great performance;)

  • @DangusGuitars Wha? MUCH better with the Ric than that stupid Hofner.

Hofner -> Beatles. Rickenbacker -> Wings.

  • @gustavosarmento Idiot= YOU

  • i thought he was better live now

  • 1. Paul McCartney.

    2. Led Zeppelin.

    3. Pink Floyd.

    4. Jimi Hendrix.

Notice how the one man is greater than entire bands together? Cuz it's true :p. I'm a die hard Led Zeppelin fan, but he takes the cake.

  • " Ohh she said.."

  • Good performance!

  • PAUL♥

  • Einfach TOP! Paul ist der Beste der Beatles! :o) Die Wings waren einfach GROßARTIG! Hab eben noch ein Song im Radio gehört.

  • I love the guitarist's double-neck. I would kill for one.

  • Paid $10 to see this performance at the Cow Palace in San Frnacisco. Was on the high side of concert tickets at the time. Got there at 8:00 a.m. for general admission. Bill Graham's people did a great jop with crowd control. Rumor was that the Beatles would reunitie where they left off in 1966 ten years eariler. Still my most favorite concert experience having seen The Who, Clapton,. Dylan, Eagles, Stones, Ramones etc.in the 70s

  • @28if Man. You had a good life in the 70's. Haha. My guitar teacher got to open for the Ramones back in the day. If only my the artists on my bucket list were still alive and kickin.

  • when I see paul live I'll be like "god you can take me now"

  • @SuperMeanmrmustard You're in for a treat if you do see him live - when I saw him play a couple of years ago he opened with Venus And Mars / Rockshow then Jet - just the start of 2 1/2 hours plus of musical heaven..!!

  • Amazing

  • Arguably the best post-Beatles Mccartney song he's written

  • "Who are wings? Only the band the Beatles could have been."

  • I agree with RayMcAwesome; Sure Sir Paul is the greatest artist ever, and the greatest entertainer ever, no doubt about it. Nobody has had so many hits (Beatles, Wings and solo!)!

    Great perfomance of JET here!

  • I thought the only place was on the moon.... simply brilliant

  • at 1:55 i love Paul's little hand motion XD

  • i always hear that paul had a black dog named "jet"

  • DER..NER NER NERRR love the intro.

  • @TheMonkeybutler20 if you play guitar.... or bass the frets are A2-A2-A4-A5 then for "jets!" part just E5.... to anyone who wanted to know how to play :D

  • A Question To All Mac fans.

Back in '74 the word was that this song was about David Bowie. True or not?

  • Best version 1976

  • @DAVWAVE No room for talking politics here. Listen to the genius at work.

  • @alexwilsonNC It's true!

  • JET !!!

  • I like this version way better than the one on the cd

  • I was born in 1976. And I appreciate this song. :)

  • I saw him perform couple of weeks ago, in milan... He's awesome, and singing JET, made me lose my voice :)

  • divine voice

  • reminds me of my time working on the fairground great times

  • He turns 70 in June.

  • I saw this tour at the LA Forum. It was awesome!

  • 32 people thought the major looked like a lady.

  • Paul Mccartney is the greatest entertainer of all time. ever. in the universe.

  • @RayMcAwesome Agreed

  • naruto theme song?

  • his voice is sexy

  • is he playing the Ricken 4001S??

  • Maybe I'm amazed best vocals ever.

  • Probably one of the most influential tunes by Sir Mac and I don't mean Old MacDonald had a farm, or Fleetwood Mac. McCartney!!!! Paul McCartney sweet balladeer of the once famous fab four of whom John Lennon could actually sing.

  • @aerycksmusic POrra o youthbe poderia mudar esse fundo branco ne? pt-br

  • Часть моей молодости...а все живо-как вчера...Берлин...ночное дежурство...и сэр Пол...Спасибо маэстро...

  • I WANNA MEET HIM SO BAD! D:

  • never listened to the studio version of this song, never gonna do so as long as this video is around <3

  • bout a family dog

  • Nobody, nobody, does "Ya ya ya" better than Paul McCartney ! Btw, did anyone ever figure out what this song was actually about? Was it about women's rights, marriage, or being the child of a military father?

  • fantastic vocal, omg :)

  • This song came on in the morning

  • love his hair during that part of 70's!

  • Love the Rick bass guitar. Wore out the 8 track of Band On The Run.

  • What's the name of the drummer????

  • @BigMattCRF, the drummer I guess is Joe English, right?

  • @whity72 WOW! He's GREAT!

  • Aw, Paul was so cute in the '70s :)

  • 32 people need their hearing check badly! This song is freaking amazing!

  • Long live Paul

  • A time when we had REAL music!!! The clowns who put the dislikes on here probably like the garbage of today's so called music!

  • @hardlines4, well said, very well said! Today´s music is a load of crap, only a few exceptions don´t justify that level we reached today. Thank God we had giants like Beethoven, Mozart, Beatles, Kinks, Led Zeppelin etc.!!

  • Who was the drummer with the Lei around his neck?

  • @Wellch Joe English, but that's not a lei. It has two ends

  • 32 stupids

  • TO MY, SIR PAUL MC CARTNEY IS PART OF THE UNIVERSE.

    BEBO MEXICALI MEX.

  • I am 43 Yrs old born in 1969 and grew up with this, I bet all 27 people who didn't like this were born after 1980 and don't truthfully know who SIR Paul McCartney is and what he represents. This man is a musical genius, anyone who doesn't like Jet, Band on the run or Juniors farm is an idiot who was born too late and missed what music really meant ........rap IS NOT music

McCartney and Wings..........amongst the BEST EVER

Wow...what has the world become ???????????????

  • NUTS! 30 Dislikes! What is wrong with the world?

  • 30 people thought that the Major was Lady Suffragette.

  • 30 people have fathers who are not as bold as a sargent major.

  • justin who?

  • Nothing like Jets!

  • Does any one know whats the name of the bass Paul is playing here

  • after years of studio (albeit brilliant) work, this must have been an exhiliarating time for the SECOND best songwriter of all time... okay, it's a tie...

  • @gettyz- ?!?!?!? With whom is Paul tied? o_O

  • uh uh uh uh uh uh JET!

  • Macca's hair is so thick at the back.

  • Is Linda playing guitar at 1:04?

  • Paul Rocks!

  • He is the best musician in the world, and it's my inspiration!!!

  • Gotta admit paul does got swag

  • Better than the studio version, love it!

  • I'm starting to think john lennon was seriously dragging beatles down.

  • @hendrixexperiencedig I don't think I would actually "blame" John for dragging The Beatles down I'd actually blame Yoko Ono for that..

  • @TheBeatlesForEver60

    lol that's true

  • @TheBeatlesForEver60 Dont blame anyone. They went their seperate ways. Its their right. Just enjoy the catalog the left us.

  • @524pmdnyc - Ya, ditto I don't what I was thinking. Jet is lovely and the Beatles left us a wonderful catalog of the grooviest songs. My fav. Abbey Road. Peace, BD

  • @TheBeatlesForEver60 - Why blame Yoko? She was an artist and musician in her own right and John was bored with where the Beatles were going. They were all bored with standing in front of thousands of screaming teens who didn't even hear the music anymore. It was time for change and also for them to share their independant musical genius with the world. Think of George's great solo career, John's awesome solo albums, Macs endless cup of albums and Ringo's too. They gave us so much more!

  • @TheBeatlesForEver60 Before Yoko Ono even came along with the Beatles, the group was already unhappy. They were already thinking about breaking up any way... Yoko Ono never broke up the Beatles, they were already planning on breaking up. Paul even said in an interveiw that it was NOT Yoko's fault that they broke up.

  • @TheBeatlesForEver60 Never heard that theory before!

  • @TheBeatlesForEver60 John went to a night walk to town & saw a Art Gallery where he met Yoko. Yoko influenced John about being independent with her about growing up & leave the Beatles. Times were changing & pop music was going out & enter comes dancing clubs of the 1970's. Was it Yoko's fault? If it wasn't, then The beatles will probably be the laughing stock of the world if they didn't break up. Children never going to grow up, if you know what I mean.

  • @starlost1957 id have to say i disagree, they probably would have changed to make the 1970's disco style music. only reason i say this is because look at what they had already changed from in the 60's they went from the original suit and ties catchy songs to drugged out hippie music, im pretty sure they could have transitioned once again, just my opinion though...

  • @TheBeatlesForEver60 so does the rest of the world xD

  • I love everything about this video.....RIP Linda......

  • Macca is his prime, what a voice.

  • I saw him perform this at Yankee stadium in June I believe. 30 years later, he's just as awesome. :D

  • THIS IS MY QUALITY TIME

  • PAUL ERES EL MEJOOOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yay! finally found it! heard this on the radio two days ago and I've been looking for it nonstop...and now i know what he's saying too

  • The best tune off of BAND ON THE RUN; If Sir Paul McCartney wants to adequtely honor WINGS, he should ask Boeing to design a stage for him. That would really rock. Nice job, Paul!

  • @kja427 That would rock, but unfortunately Airbus would probably get the contract, since he's British and all. ; )

  • ¡¡Es una gran cancion!! No fue de mis favoritas hasta hace poco.-

  • Awesome. Best post-Beatles performance I've seen by Paul. Find his voice these days a bit lacking (compared to what it was) but this is great!

  • @greyztone Regarding Paul's voice - I would only say -

    1. He's 69 years old and

    2. His voice on its worst day is better than most current singers voices on their best day and

    3. He's Paul #@%$! McCartney - be can sound however he wants!

  • Too bad Paul didn't keep Wings going as a group! They are really something as a group.

  • lieblings lied von paul, ich höre es schon 24 jahre; aber das Lied wird nicht älter!!!

  • потрясающая песенка пола ! 24 года её слушаю , не увядает !

  • Alan Partridge: 'their only the band the Beatles could have been!'

  • wow never realized how good of a singer paul was

  • @LimesSauce really...all those albums w/ the beatles and you never realized that paul was a terrific singer.

  • @RRyyNNee really?

  • I love Paul

  • I just saw the actual lyrics and boy am I embarrassed! I've been singing "I'll mate her" instead of "Ah Mater" and "Suffer again" instead of "Suffragette". Hearing that the song was about his dog...I assumed that if he let her bear puppies, she would be happy and love him forever. Unfortunately, there was a mistake in gender with another dog in which he thought was female, but turned out to breed with his dog.

  • Aww man, I love Linda.

    this is unthinkable nowadays...

  • Paul,musicalmente hablando,es inmortal.

  • Lose the hair, then we'll talk.

  • @TheUpperRoom477, who would want a bald Paul?

  • Doesn't it seem that this guy would have an odd smell about him?

  • @fatograph What? How can you tell by looking at him?

  • 27 people missed thier jet.
