slicing is a bit confusing as I'm doing exactly what you do and it won't work. I select the cylinder and then select edit poly, then slice plane, and then I select slice to get the next line but it doesn't work. I'm new to 3DS max. could you help me out ?
@Tamlyntamlyn Have you selected the polygons that you want to slice? And is you plane in the right position and does it have the right orientation/rotation?
Those are the only things that could go wrong when you slice plane. :)
@onnovanbraam hey i have on question that i've been trying to figure out all day ! how do you see the white lines in the cup, when your at your 'realistic' view ?
from 1:52 it becomes a bit confusing to follow. You go a bit to fast for me to see what's happening. It would be really kwl if you put subtitles on your videos. Thanks though for the great tutorial
@SeezeHD Alt + W is the shortcut for maximize and minimize view. Right click in a viewport and then the shortcut for maximize view (Alt + W) is what I use for fast navigation.
the tutorials good, but ur just flowin thru it without saying what ur doing. one minute your using one tool then ur change to another without a word. difficult to keep up
Dude, you're really good with 3D max, and your tutorials are quite helpful, but there's just this thing that bothering me.. Have anyone noticed that the way the author speaks totally sounds like a horny guy thrying to will a girl to fuck? no offence
tell me, that connection between spline part and cup c|_| :P these shadows are correct? There are little dark areas, should they be there? i hope you know about what i'm asking
@triprascica Make sure you don't have a polygon there: your mesh has to be 'open' when you bridge the edges. So the the four edges you have selected on one end should make up a hole and not a polygon.

@smoke9206 That's just the viewport render, you shouldn't judge by that. :) The model is correct, in case you were wondering.

Far to fast. I also cannot see what you are clicking on.
All the other tutorials have zoom in features so the watcher can see the action.
