to be exact... he took half of kazuya's devil gene power... that's y Kaz keep looking for Jin since Tk 3 when he found out his son could probably be a future threat... also, that's the reason one of Kaz's eye is red due to reformation in the lab (Tk 4)... the scientists tried to extract his devil gene out ... but only success in half ...
