i ahve a green cheek too his name is buddy. i got this parrot tricks book, and it helps you train it to do all these cool tricks and the commands like what you did in this video. i am working on getting him to do it. green cheeks rock!
I have a 7 month old green-cheek who fetches a penny or bird basketball from across the room and puts it into a tin for a treat. Great birds conures. My Maroon belly is also learning as she watches the GC but not as quick to learn.
lol i hear pipin in there .you trained chico very well .you also gave cluelesschick24 good advice if you don't have a clicker use your tung to make the clicking noise to .don't always need a treat but it does help i didn't use treats at all with mickey budgie lol.
I used clicker training. She already liked to throw her toy ball off the desk. I would put it near the edge and catch it and click when she pushed it off. Then I stopped trying to catch it and only clicked when she got it in my hand. After she started to get the idea, I put the ball farther away and raised my hand so she actually had to carry the ball to me, not just push it. I would only click and reward when she got it in my hand. This took a week or so of 1-2 sessions/day, each a few minutes.
