how come everytime you watch one of these so called ''great hockey fights'', with both guys throwing a bunch of punches, nine times out of ten, when the camera shows a closeup of the involved players, they have no injuries which could be considered substantial. do you know why? BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIGHT FOR SHIT.
i like how the line judges didn't jump right in to break up the fight(s) and today they get in there so fast like the speed of light to break up a fight.

Players can't climb into the stands and pound on fans. No more bench clearing brawls where 2 guys would kick 1 guys ass and guys would cheap shot each other from behind. Bring back old time hockey where a man was WHITE and could fight and Europeans and blacks weren't human beings. Bring Back Old time hockey where sheer brutal violence is king!
Few Rangers in their history were as proud to wear the uniform as Fotiu. Why Fred Shero gave up on him yet let Barry Beck practically run the dressing room is a mystery to me.

I agree with most of the posters. Shoenfeld was awesome, and a great person. He won a LOT of fights, but he was a bit out of his league in this one. Not too many guys could go with Fotiu, and that is nothing to be ashamed of.
You have plenty to choose from. See the boxer Fotiu against Holmgren, Wilson, Coxe, Hunter, etc... When somebody wanted to wrestle Nicky, what was he supposed to do? He'd wrestle them.
Look closely. Fotiu lands the solid shots. Schoenfeld wanted to continue because he didn't want to get licked. He was no pushover, but this one didn't go his way.
Nick was the best, classy guy and a great fighter...never backed down from anyone, always came out ahead in a fight!

Fotiu was tough as hell, very good fighter.
Fotiu with NARROW WIN as he threw his shots from better angle/position.
He landed better also in this spirited tussle.
