  • Sweet drummer Mick Tucker should be there

  • John Bonham best drummer ever brilliant bass drum patters

  • what about Nicko McBrain!!!!

  • You put Bonham first. You sir get a very big thumbs up.

  • thumbs up for john dolmayan

  • What about Carlo Little? Search his name and see who taught Kieth Moon how to play. :)

  • are u from colorado

  • There is one missing and he could be the best of them? Barrymore Barlow should be in there a great drummer

  • Thats great how you didnnt put sound into it

  • where is the sound???????????????

  • I'm gonna go torrent all of these songs even though I have some of them already, just to piss WMG off.

  • ,,WMG???......OMG!!!!

  • more cowbell, you bastards !!!! and maybe some sound too ......

  • Well, we can still see it.. And where the fuck is Jeff Porcaro?

  • why no sound????? are you stupid????

  • where is tha sound ?????

  • WMG must have seriously small dicks. seriously. bah!

  • I think Animal from the muppet show wins hands down ::) And mick Tucker from "The Sweet" just lisen to their B-Sides and decide :)

  • Neil Peart is First! He Deserves it!

  • where is mitch mitchel ???

    he was a incredebil drummer

  • @04085100848 Meh, most of his songs we're, really, at their core, 2+ minute jam sessions. His stuff really fast, not really the makings of a great drummer. Not to say he's bad, just not 'incredible.'

  • gotta love keith moons pictures of lily drum kit

  • WMG are idiots

  • I think Carl Palmer should have been leading that group.

  • I did enjoy listening to that

  • scott travis, judas priest, he did the drumming on the painkiller album

  • and my cock and the ass of my girl to.

  • For precision and a computer-like sense of timing, it's got to go to Neil Peart. For stamina and blunt force trauma, Keith Moon. Showmanship, Keith without a doubt. Winner: Keith Moon.

  • It is NEIL Peart, not some fucking Niel.

  • you left out ricky fataar & floyd sneed

  • KEITH MOON

  • Keith... My hero... I miss you.... RIP MOONIE, MOON THE LOON!!!

  • Check out Brian Tichy on my channel

  • Carl Palmer the best of all by a distance. Keith Moon and John Bonham naturally receive the 'dead' vote but due to drug abuse neither really knew what they were doing or what drums they wre hitting most of the time.

  • what about roger taylor of queen his a good drummer

  • keith moon the greatest drummer ever...

  • No Charlie Watts???? Wow.....If your going to put Neal Pert in there you need to put Alan Gratzer (REO) next to him. But no Charlie??? Come on...

  • Lame!

  • my dad had a beer in a bar with carl palmer after a concert me and my dad are drummers to

  • its the man with his permission, well you WMG just suck 2183790pluss44's cock!

  • Kieth moon the greatest ever.

  • and if you want to see someone with extremely good talent Kofi Baker, Ginger Bakers son is awesome as hell

  • try watching dave weckle, tony royster jr. , mike portnoy ,pat torpey and akira jimbo..Peter Criss and Eric Carr are amatuers compared to them..idiots!!!

  • Y'all forgot about Peter Criss and Eric Carr, 2 of KISS' drummers, wassup with that?

  • @firefanner I agree 10000000%. couldnt have been said better. next time. put some KISS!

  • @xDreklessx grow-up dude..kiss sucks..amatuer

  • @spagpupu69 no u just have no taste in good music

  • TRE COOL!!

  • @timetowakeup00 Fuck him

  • screw WMG

  • Nice video, but the sound is too loud for me.Fuck WMG.Neil Peart is one of the greatest Rock Drummers!!!

  • stewart copeland should have been included in this vid.

  • at home sucking each others' mother's cocks where they belong.

  • @UklaTheMokk

    "Mothers" cocks???

    Are you sure ??

  • HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

  • fuck wmg.

  • check out my progressive drum solo vids on here!!

  • Yeah, nice...but you miss the point totally: we're not hearing shit, you dummy!!! It's the sound that matters, not the pictures that made them great.

  • alex van halen?!?!?!?!?!

  • u r missing so many but u got the best. PEART

  • WHERE THE HELL IS BUDDY RICH?

  • He's not a rock drummer...... Fail!

  • you said fail, so you have truly failed in life...

  • i'll probably get some crap for this and I love this kind of music, but I also think travis barker should be on here. He's an amazing drummer even though the band can't really play songs

  • ginger baker is jazz not rock

    ps you forgot john densmore

  • Ginger Baker played for Cream. So yes, he's a rock drummer.

  • that makes no sense, John Densmore has said himself he's a jazz drummer playing in a rock band. Both great drummers, both play jazz but I think ginger baker is more rock than densmore

  • for fuck sake this 'wgm' people are starting to piss me off.

its fine when yous claim a soundtrack to the new 'high school musical' trailer soundtrack bullshit, but to take away the music on something like this is just fucking not right!!! whos agrees?

  • Rogaer Taylor, yeah! And don't forget Copeland, from The Police. Great grooves, too!

Or progressive ones like Bill Bruford...

    All of them, unique styles!!

  • Copeland never ceases to amaze me. Totally under the radar drummer. people just think Roxanne, what about No Time This Time?

  • Lets not forget Roger Taylor of Queen:

Queen-Drum solo/ keep yourself alive!! Not a long dragged out solo..Quick and to-the-point:)

  • doesn't make thaat much sense without audio right..

  • I WANT THE AUDIO MAN!!

  • Booooo. Give us back the audio!

  • bonzo was the greatest.

  • okay i agree with all except....ginger baker and keith moon shouldnt be mentioned in the same hemisphere as palwer, bonham and peart.....why not throw ringo and charlie watts into the mix......NOT...lol

  • Joey Jordison as one of the greatest, people just dont get it. Heard a solo by Jordison and it was like this :"BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"

  • obviously keith moon in that....

  • What!?! Joey Jordison os the best ever. He is so technical and creative! All these drummers are only popular because they are fast, they have no feel!

  • joey jordison may be good but if you think neil peart dosent put feeling into than your obviously not listening he is the best and john bonham and keith moon and all of the greats ginger baker carl palmer terry bozzio. probebly just another slipknot faggot who can aperciate good music

  • Sarcasm...

  • if they want authorization how can we get authorization? i

  • thats it? 5 drummers?

  • but ringo star!!!!! hem is one of the greatest drummers of the word!!!!!.....

  • ringo starr wasnt good he was in some band that changed the world

  • excellent silence.. one can have enough of that :P

  • WMG Suck...did that to my video too.

  • Honestly WMG can suck my cock

  • @2183790pluss44 : XDxDXD

  • @2183790pluss44 i dont know what i hate more WMG, or VEVO

  • Swines about the audio. Not so good if you can't have the sound of drummers as their pictures come up.

  • neil peart is my hero!!!!!!!!

  • Why doesnt anyone give Mike Wengren or Michael Bartlett any credit they are SWEET

  • !!!FUWMG!!!

  • WMG,Ggrrrrrrr.......!!!!!

  • and how about Ian Paice and Mike Portnoy?

  • Carl Palmer is probably the best of todays living drummers. His strong influence from Buddy Rich is why. I would like to see modern drummers back on basic kits and forget the monster sets and gimmicks.

  • there are tons who can play better. i like carl and the projects he does, but he isnt the best drummer or even close.

  • and what is with joey jordison?

  • good, but overrated

  • wtf wheres portnoy?1? nobody can play in his insane timesignatures

  • a lot of people can...

  • its not called welcome back my friends its called Karn Evil 9 Part 1 2nd Impression. Anyway palmer is a great drummer but i cant believe you left out Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac and Stewart Copeland of the police they were both very good.

  • i cant beliee you forgot mitch mitchell

    how unfortunate

    R.I.P mitch

  • i no peart is good but i hate rush cause of the faggot ass singer giddy lee or w/e is name is

  • carl palmer sucks

  • no...YOU suck...Before he died, Buddy Rich said that "Carl Palmer is the best up and coming drummer in the industry"

You are clueless to say that he "sucks"

    The man is a machine

  • while i dont think he sucks i feel there are better. in this list alone peart and moon are examples. in a more similar band to ELP, alan white and bill bruford are better...

  • profjohn? Peart and Moon are better than Palmer? White and Bruford? Do you even play drums? Of the 4 you listed, Bruford comes the closest, but not quite up to Palmer speed and skills.

As far as Peart and Moon are concerned, put Palmer in Rush or the Who, and the band(s) improve. Put Peart or Moon with Emerson and Lake, and they shake their heads in awe!

  • hey man opinions are opinions... i dont play the drums i play the bass

ive seen palmer with asia and his drum solo, while quite good, was not nearly as intricate or creative as pearts when i saw rush.

as for keith moon theres just something about his style, no hes not as intricate as the people we are talking about, but he is THE premier rock drummer, i like him because of his insane style and his spontaneity...

does your name have to do with steely dan? cuz that would explain a lot ;-)

  • pretty sure you are worng in my opinion. peart grew up with elp. fans of all of them but peart and bonham are definetely better. bonhams moby dick live, classic and llegend. peart so many solos, so many awards. after 30 years with rush he was still kickin out new shit. he is truly a master of rock drumming. and btw. palmer would be lost in cygnus. im not trash talkin im just sayin. moon isnt better than palmer though i will agree

  • What rus song is this/

  • The Spirt Of Radio

  • "Invisible airwaves

    Crackle with life."

I find peart to be the greatest and wheres Ian Paice?

  • Ian Paice is my favorite.

  • P

    A

    L

    M

    E

    R

  • Neil Peart never played on rush´s first album ;)

I recommend listening to EXIT STAGE LEFT to check out his drumming.

  • NEIL PEART

  • inspiration production, thx for sharing

  • john bonham or neil peart are the best pesronally i think bonhams better.

  • Keith Moon is the Best!!! ((((my opinuin))))

  • neil peart is the best

  • it,s so great this sound.thank you for playing

  • Cozy Powell is also amazing.

  • I think Moon's the greatest, I love Baker, Bonzo and Peart all too, but I just love the spontaneous, wild man style of Keith Moon, he's also the best showman out of all them.

  • Theyre all great drummers but i think Baker may be not be in the class of the rest. For me Bonham is the man, but thats a question of taste.

  • Regarding the 5 drummers in this video

    There's Carl Palmer

    and then

    there's those other guys!

  • Well I have come to thi conclusion. I feel that Keith Moon is arguabley the greatest rock drummer of all time. He was the craziest, most recognisable, and most awsome player the world has ever known. True he wasn't a particularly technique drummer but he we distinctive and fitted the sound of The Who perfectly.

  • Baker in the live crossroads recording is a fucking animal.

  • Keith Moon was a very good drummer no doubt but played extremely sloppy but thats what defined him. Bono was the best drummer hands down.

  • John Henry Bonham <= Best

  • MOON THE BEST.

  • In my opinion, Moon the Loon is the best drummer but right now if you are talking about who is still alive, then I go with Neil Peart. All drummers today just use double bass pedal the whole song and it sounds terrible

  • yea clearly dont listen to enough ranges of music if thats what you think

  • Bono is the greatest drummer ever. No one even comes clothes to him. Neil Peart was technically sound but played stiff as a board.

  • bonzo is the man

  • Umm, BUDDY RICH!!!

  • where in the hell is gavin harrison or mike portnoy? both those guys are better than half the guys here

  • Gavin Harrison is much better than Mike P. Thats just a fact.

  • regardless of whether Gavin is better, they're both better than everyone in this video

  • He also has another band "Blue Floyd"....check them out!!!

  • That was some old classic stuff...Ever hear of Matt Abts,he is the drummer for Gov't.Mule check him out!!! He is one of the best ever!!!Peace

  • uhhhhhh... MIKE PORTNOY. come on!!!! the others are good but Mike needs to be in the line up.

  • travis barker is total shit...The dude from Breaking Ben is 1000 times better than him

  • god .. this is boring

  • travis barker doesnt deserve to be in this video. the rest do

    especially peart, bonham and moon

  • Travis barker is not even close to being best rock drummer of all time. he is overrated big time. search protest the hero and listen to there drummer.

  • Uhh well, i think the retarded person here is YOU. Maybe Travis Barker doesn't qualify at being one of the greatest drummers in rock? And Lars Ulrich, 1 word: OVERRATED. His beats are actually quite simple to play once youv'e gotten into it. Don't get me wrong though, it still sounds good.

  • Thats just it Lars does play simple beats but its because they are so good its what makes him a great drummer you dont need to be able to play complex solos to be good sure it shows talent but what good is a drummer who isn't keeping a great groove easy or hard.

  • I agree, but the drummers featured in this video is better than him. Some of them anyway :)

  • i agree with neil peart, maybe keith moon and maybe john bonham but not at all the others

  • Carl Palmer smokes the other 4 in this group of drummers

  • Bullshit. Niel PEart is the best now and will be the standard that drummers are measured for years. Not knocking the others but Neil is the first drummer that comes to mind when you ask anyone who admires music on any level who they feel is a great drummer. His solos are second to none, his ability to reproduce the sound from an album proves his ability to play and not just record. I respectfully disagree with you

  • caneywaney....Bullshit to you...Peart is a fabulous rock drummer...no doubt about it, but he does not possess the technical skills of Carl Palmer...To put it simply, you could put Palmer in Rush and the band would thrive. Put Peart with Emerson and Lake, and he would struggle.

Plus, by the way, there are countless jazz/fusion drummers out there that will own Peart.

  • I'll admit CP is awesome, but like caneywaney said, Peart is the standard all drummers will be measured by.

  • Tell you what....Although I am certainly NOT a fan of metal and the like, there is a drummer out there that is amazing...Morgan Agren

Do yourselves a huge favor and check out this YouTube video...

    Awesome Guitar/Drums duo (F.Thordendal, M. Agren)

    Leave an opinion please!

  • keith moon!!!! top of list

  • this list sucks

  • JOEY JORDISON

    SLIPKNOT

  • Fail.

  • At fucking last..a vid made by someone knowledgable

    Bonham...Moon

John Bonham tops most credible polls as the most gifted, Ginger Baker gets high acclaim also and led the way in 60's...but none were as innovative as Keith Moon. To think Moon and Bonham died within 2 years of each other.

  • Not out of this list of drummers...Carl Palmer is clearly the better, more technical and creative drummer out there.

Put simply, Palmer could easily have played for the Who, or Led Zeppelin...Moon or Bonham would be lost with Emerson and Lake...

  • whatever

Bonham is seen as top dog, though imo Moon kicks ass

  • Bonham and Moon were fabulous ROCK drummers, however rock drummers pale in comparison to the great jazz and fusion drummers...And that's a fact

  • I disagree. That would be like saying Joe Satrianni is a better guitar player than Stevie Ray Vaughn. You can't compare Bonham to Palmer at all. Even though Palmer might be able to play everything Bonham played, it wouldn't sound or feel anything like how Bonham played the song. This goes for any drummer out there. Put Vinnie Coliauta with the Police and he won't sound like Stewart Copeland even though he can play the beats/fills.

  • Surely a knowledgeable person would have Ian Paice, but no one seems to. One of the greatest and most underrated rock drummers of all time

  • who Ian Paice mate???

  • YOU kiddin? haha- Ian Paice in my view was the greatest hard rock drummer ever- he played in part of the 70's hard rock trio.. DEEP PURPLE. Don't get me wrong bonham and baker were good, but for me this guy takes it to another level, not just triplets or simple tom fills

  • Ahh, Deep Purple, awesome band..when i think of them i instantly think Richie Blackmore as the guitar legend...wasn't really aware of Ian Paice at all to be honest.

  • listen to fireball and pictures of home then you'll be aware- but you're right ritchie is one of the greats aswell

  • Go get Made in Japan - DP MKII from 1972. Listen to the Mule, the version of Smoke on the Water out from the bridge, and of course the entirety of the most classic version of Child in Time ever recorded. Ian Paice drives Ritchie's solo in one of the finest examples of power swing ever recorded. Superb. And then move forward and listen to Burn and You Fool No One from DP MKIII. You will not have to ask again as you will know Ian.

  • carl palmer rocks!!!

  • whoever hosted this video. get out of the 60's. Danny Carey from Tool blows all of them away. period. even the great neil peart.

  • Danny Carey? pfffffffft

and Carl Palmer is the best of this group of drummers

  • No Charlie Watts? Al Jackson?

    From the list, Ginger Baker.

  • P.S. GREAT JOB ON THIS VIDEO

  • i mean no disrespect..i agree with all yoyr pics...but one...i feel that & i bet if you ask any of these drumers who the best is..there all gonna say .....BUDDY RICH.....R.I.P...

  • Agreed worm60....Buddy Rich was the greatest ever...He is the standard by which all drummers...past, present and future....are judged.

  • GINGER BAKER IS ONE OF THE ENDURING PIONEERS IN ROCK DRUMMING. HIS PLAYING WAS REVOLUTIONARY IN THE LATE 60S—EXTROVERT,
