  • 1st study: Instead of g5: Isnt Ke4 also possible ?

  • @000gentlewhisper000 I thought of that as well. I didn't see anything to stop it, but I'm not positive.

  • @mormril oops, never mind. I mean d4. It seems a bit crude but doesn't it stop black?

  • @mormril no, black can defend....note that on d4 the king is on the diagonal so any square on the diagonal that the bishop can reach will be check and picking up the pawn when it goes to a7, a key idea.

  • @000gentlewhisper000 No, doesn't work

  • Isnt after b6 there are Ka6 not taking pawn? Also i noticed pretty interesting stuff: b4+

and if Kxb4 then b6 and the same idea?

  • @eisaatappaa Interesting idea but white still wins. I failed to mention that in the video. If 2...Ka6 3.Ke5! Bg5 4.h7 Bc1 5.Kd6 Bxb2 6.Kc7! Be5+ 7.Kc6 and white wins. If 6.Kc6?? Be5 and white is in zugzwang and it's a draw

  • @zibbit

seems the pawn at b2 also have a role. if the pawn wasnt there, can change slightly the move

    3. Ke5 Be7

then later 5.Kd6 is not possible as bishop controls that square. dunno what gonna happen next though. anything wrong with this move? in case im missing something. just want to stress out the role of b2 pawn which was mentioned :p

  • @zibbit

    forgot to add, it was 3. Ke5 Be7 4. h7 Ba3
