There really do seem to be advanced beings who remember past lives as clearly as they remember this one, and what happens in between. But that does not change Adyashanti's central point, which is that we can't become attached to the idea of continuing on. However, I have found reincarnation a useful belief in motivating myself to practice, as many beliefs are. Although even the Tibetans say that to become totally enlightened you must let go of every concept, including reincarnation and karma.
@squamish4244 I think he is pointing out the simple fact that you are either conscious or not conscious - it really makes no difference whether you will be reincarnated or not - maybe you will, maybe you won't. But when you are unconscious, what difference does it make? You are not here. If you are not here, you are not here. And that is the reality of death - or sleep - or even a moment of normal blank mind that occurs to people every day in normal life. You are here - or not.
isnt it just your brain telling you all this.. bcoz once your brain dies you wont even be able to believe in anything lol..even what you think IS NOT THOUGHT...IS THOUGHT lol.. brain controls the whole human body
I just checked the website you referred. Bashar looks like another Scientology stuff. I don't think I'll buy it. I realize that many will say "it makes sense" ... with Scientology is the same. Many say it makes sense, became fascinated and thereafter brainwashed and spend their savings and time just to leave broken and without hope. Please awake before is too late.
I don't believe in rebirth. My organism will die and there will never be another personality like this one. But that's okay, because that which we all are is living all of us at once. We're all being lived by the universe simultaneously.
not "just" a thought dies,.. body dies also dont know wots so gr8 about being disembodied awareness...most of these guys are just regurgitating others deductions [which is all it can be] on death
there is the "thought" in terms of the greater mind and the lesser mind, for in the One even the ego is just another thought, and it dissolves... for without time, there is no experience of thinking. there is only is-ness. you know? :)
I belive it is the thought of that you don't know what will happen and that you most likely will loose everything you have gathered in this lifetime. Which is not true if you will be reborn =)
What is sadness? Sadness is just a feeling, you don't know sadness man. All thoughts are mind worms desperate for definition. Needed within this reality to consume yourself (the unknowable energy around you that you take in just for a little bit to get a feeling of fullness before it poops out lol), but useless when reflecting on the unknowable. Which is everything. Let me ask you this: Does "you" and "i" even exist out of the thoughts of your mind?
To listen to people who have had near-death experiences is an incredibly powerful spiritual teaching. Lots on youtube. Check them out; they are amazingly beautiful and empowering.
haha.. damn the thoughts in our mind that we've been conditioned with!! all we can think of is me me me lol when in reality.. "me" doesn't control you, your body does haha.. when it eats it eats, when it sleeps it sleeps when it poops it poops. does this YOU have control? haha.. what a fantastic illusion "i've" been living through these past 20 years.
I got hooked on Bashar about 20 years ago! Just lots of great information he has shared. In his intros and answering all the questions. So much has been answered that we are in such mysteries about. He has a website bashar. org there is a talk he does called fundamntals. Every thing has been taped that he has done too. Fun to see in person too.
He is really funny too, which is so great..gets us all laughing! Isn't life a trip? The never ending ride! So nice to meet you.
There is no mystery to death it is just a process where we move our conscience from one body to another. We move into the same body we sleep in every night. Thoughts are of the mind and the mind is the creator so the mind is an aspect of the mental body one of our vehicles. We die 100,000 times a second and reappear back into existence. Once we become conscience of the periods between each of those 100,000 moment cycles we become conscience that we are the creator of everything that is.
You are creating limitations on your ability to KNOW! Can't Can't etc. Creating that as your reality. You are exploring what many people have. YOU are the THINKER/CREATOR OF THE THOUGHT..NOT THE THOUGHT!!
We exist and always will. All there is is the eternal now. Check out some of the Bashar vids..you would like them. Thanks for sharing.
i dont agree here, and surely this topic cannot be discuss on these youtube characters limitations, but would be an interesting topic that i would like to contribute to. Another thing, Eastern meditation exercises are not meant to western people.

Wayne Dyer I think said thought continues on forever, I think Adyashanti means to say the inner voice dies?

great commentary, i must say.
and your right, i should live each day for what it is to me, and not highlight the past which is unexplainable in many ways. : )
as a human though, i will always at least try and understand the unexplained, and explain the mis-understood, you are a role model, plague613
dont worry though, lol i do have my limits, must livev for fun at the end of the day... and i will : )
Peace!
