  • circe is so hot and seductive, she makes me wanna throw myself at her :)

  • we watched this in school..... and im in 7th grade

  • We had to skip this scene in school...

  • Circe is supposed to be hot.

  • those servants look cozy

  • The moral is: Don't sleep with strange women. Especially if you're married.

  • I always wondered, what is the true meaning behind this: a woman turning men into animals? In the Odyssey it´s lions, wolves & pigs, all are tamed.

I think it is: women like men being strong & smart; still, they try to tame them. But as soon as they have accomplished that, they lose interest. Hence the best way of gaining or keeping a woman´s respect & affection is: stay strong & smart and don´t let yourself being tamed.

Odysseus is the only man she can´t tame; hence she falls in love with him.

  • @harpiyon Thanks to I'm getting an A!

  • @BoneBeast huh, how´s that? you´re getting an A for what? did you take a class at school about the Odyssey?

anyway glad you get an A but what does that have to do with me?

  • @harpiyon Your reflection about Odyssey and the animals.

  • @BoneBeast hahaha you wrote that in an exam and they gave you an A? wow cool :)

i read the Ilaid & Odyssey and found that most stories, esp. in the Odyssey, have a deeper meaning beyond the obvious: the Cyclops, Scylla & Charybdis, Circe, Calypso, Nausicaa etc.: they are all metaphors for hardships, difficult situations etc. & how ppl deal with those. Odysseus uses courage, wits, charisma, survival instinct etc.: this way he masters every situation.

these stories teach lessons of life :)

  • @harpiyon ...yes but remember...ALL OF this was written by men...NOT women so many of the conclusions you draw from this are BS!! THIS is what men of THIS thinking WHAT from women and it, to them, justifies their treatment of women...use your brain...lol

  • @Mspendragon72 do you want to say that everything written by men is BS? or what exactly do you want to say? each written story / tale has a message, and everyone can draw the concolusions he or she wants. what´s wrong with that?

    lmao

  • @harpiyon ...NO, not everything...did I say that?? NO. I said MANY of the conclusions you drew from THIS IS BS! All this crap about women NOT wanting a "tamed" man and such. Women, my friend, DON'T want WEAK MEN...BIG DIFF. All this garbage about women trying to TAME men but loses interest ?? HOW THE FLYING FUCK DO YOU GET THAT FROM THIS?? We are talking about a GODDESS HERE, YES? She isn't ALL WOMEN...But written by a man SHE "IS" ALL WOMEN, RIGHT?? So, there you have it.....BULL-SHIT!

  • @Mspendragon72 as i said, everyone can draw his / her conclusions from stories, and it´s not up to you or anyone else to attack others for doing that.

and yes she is a goddess (some authors classify her as a demigoddess, nymph, sorceress) in literature. now tell me, do you think such creatures (gods, nymphs etc.) really existed in the past? she´s a literary (i.e. fictional) character, but she is representing a certain type of real character.

don´t mix up literature with reality.

  • @harpiyon ...AHHHH...There is it ! Your last words hit the nail on the head...DON'T MIX UP LITERATURE AND REALITY...Which in my OP was exactly what you were doing in the first place...lol..."SHE" LOSES INTEREST because FOR "HER", ONCE "SHE" TAMES THEM, THEY ARE WEAK...Odyssey stays strong...THIS has never happened to her before...SHE finds it exciting...THIS IS NOT ALL WOMEN...Just this Goddess.

  • @Mspendragon72 oh boy... as i said before, the fictional character is based on a real type of character. she has clearly female attributes and she represents the same type of woman as for example Helen, Salome, the Sirens, Ondine, Loreley, Lolita, etc., i.e. a Femme Fatale = S H E.

and then you come and say "No, she is a Goddess", well if you just want to stay on the surface of things, you can do so. but don´t tell me not to look deeper into the matter.

maybe YOU start using YOUR brain, honey

  • @harpiyon ...Honey? So, my debate makes you feel insecure to the point that you end it with belittlement...you've revealed yourself...and in doing so, MADE MY POINT CLEAR. YOU THINK the way you do because you are a sexiest male PERIOD. WE will never agree or see this the same way. However, on a positive note...I must say Armand Assante KILLED this role!! I so wished to see Odysseus kill all 200 in a true RIVER of blood as deserved...the ENDING was STILL marvelously EPIC...yes?

  • @Mspendragon72 i call you honey - you call me a sexist male (PERIOD).

    yay :) who´s insecure here?

    lmao

  • @harpiyon actually she isn't a goddess, she's a witch.

  • @helencheddar No she is a goddess. That is why, in the book, when she promises no more witchcraft, she has to keep it, because it is a promise of a god. Learn your shit, you donkey plugging ass butler.

  • @cantthinkofaname97 Circe is a minor goddess of magic (or sometimes a nymph, witch, enchantress or sorceress). It depends on which translation you read.

  • Respond to this video... also...if you read instead of watch...you'd know she TURNED ALL OF THEM INTO PIGS!!

  • @harpiyon No shit dickwipe

  • @cantthinkofaname97 yes pee pussycat :)
